when is source for pools coming ?
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Can someone explain how minerd works - for windows or mac. I just opened it and get:

Quote

Guys,

I'm using this instruction to compile both on Windows and my remote Azure Ubuntu: https://gist.github.com/xorrbit/8848780

I got stuck at this step: "11. Run autogen.sh:  ./autogen.sh"

Code:
dude12@Ubuntu1:~/cpuminer$ ./autogen.sh
-bash: ./autogen.sh: Permission denied

When I try to run it as root:

Code:
dude12@Ubuntu1:~/cpuminer$ sudo -i sh ./autogen.sh
sh: 0: Can't open ./autogen.sh

Please advise how to proceed!

Instead of advertising cloud mining services, RELEASE PROPERLY TESTED SOURCES.

It does not compile on Mac, I sent several messages on Twitter, if you want to be fair did you test it compiling on Mac?? Not the same of Linux.

Thanks for the clear instructions. It worked. Now that the official miners are released, do we have to re-do the installation or it's all the same anyway?

Thank you mate, I've compiled it on my Windows 8.1!

Remote Ubuntu is different, though:
