People with Cuda Nvidia GPUs and cudaminer are getting 100mhs or more per card.

OMG. Either I am really stupid or this is way too complicated and disorganized to follow!

OK. So. I created a droplet on digitalocean. I followed the instructions at the beginning of this thread to set up the miner last night.

Now what?

I assume I need a wallet. The Windows one is 32 bit and will not install on my PC. But wait...maybe I'm not supposed to install it on my PC, but in my droplet?  Huh In which ase I guess I need the linux wallet. And maybe instructions, as I am a complete linux dumbass newb.  Sad

I assume I should find a pool and join it. Then I need to do something in my cloud server to point it to the pool perhaps?

I'm now noticing comments on here not to waste time with CPU mining because people are now GPU mining. Have I wasted my time now?

Any simple logical advise would be welcome at this point.  Huh Huh Huh

Thanks. OK we get it. Our puny cloud is not match for an army of GPUs.
Stop the giant text though. I'm old and I think I just lost an ear drum there Wink

But he's right, they still don't get it.

I can type screen to follow the steps below.

I'm on http://max.1gh.com

---> Congratulations, your MAX mining operations started.

If you wish to run this in your background so it doesn't close once you drop the SSH conncetion, go ahead and use "screen"
launch screen
Code:

screen

press space, launch the miner
Code:

./minerd -a keccak -o http://pool:port -u username -p password

to restore the session when logging back in, use
Code:

screen -r

All done. Good luck and have fun.

Can someone give me a quick answer as to setting up maxcoind --daemon for the first time?

Just want to know if I should be changing the rpcuser field?  Once I create the wallet the first time with password, it can't be changed.  But does the default username matter?

I have some doubts. Some pretty unknown pool started first?

Also I have no idea how to work with "screen" too. Have 3 terminal windows open Cheesy
