PinkiePie's parent is a colossal, psychologically-abusive douchbag.

I caused the results of what is written in this letter, and feel quite colossally guilty. I had not realized just how psychologically abused this girl was (was this an attempted suicide? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=41901.msg509961#msg509961), or how dangerous and extremist her father was.

If you live near Waterloo, Iowa, and can manage to quickly track down the residence of a 17 year old girl named Ayn, I will personally pay you to buy ALL of the pony stuff her dad is claiming to want to liquidate, and to have it shipped to my house to store. Contact me personally if you can help.

Her words did not seem trolly in the least. Also, I know a parent like hers. Local friend of mine's mom commited suicide when he was 10 or so. His dad was fairly religious to begin with (and a racist bigot, but that's beside the point), so when he became a single parent, I guess the burden of raising a child by himself was a bit too heavy for him. Maybe he feared he would lose his son like he lost his wife, maybe he felt that as a single father he has to work twice as hard to raise his son well... Either way, the results were NOT pretty. I suspect there's a similar situation here (though Ayn's dad is WAY WAY WAY more religious that my friend's dad).
(and yes, this fried of mine is gay too, so, like I said, the end results were not pretty).

This Wikipedia link provides a summary but it's not as fascinating as reading the Metafilter threads associated with it (you don't need to be a member to access them).  There were so many red flags associated with that particular sympathy troll that it should never have been able to be sustained for so long, but people ignored them because everyone knows somebody who has had some form of cancer.  No-one was willing to ask hard questions until after Kaycee's "death" and even then, those who questioned the story were attacked by the community because people can't conceive of others perpetrating such a big deception over such a long period.

I've seen similar hoaxes happen on other messageboards and they often follow a similar pattern - when they're revealed it turns out that no-one has actually met these people in real life, but because the people who've white-knighted them have often been high profile posters their often conflicting stories are accepted as true.  They rely on credibility through association and they're often quite skilled at getting it by not posting the drama bombs themselves but revealing the latest twist in their stories to established posters who then reveal the information to the community.

If one were writing a prayer from the top of the head with the intent of quoting exact bible verses, there should be at least one error in the text--but none. Ergo, the verses were cherry picked for the situation at hand. This took time to write. I'm not 100% certain that this is her dad, but if it was her, she's a bright girl for making sure the pronouns were all correct in the main text.

Also, no where does she mention her real name in any of her posts. I would have envisioned her dad telling her long ago to not give out your real name on the internet for safety reasons. I am glad that you hate me, but don't hate HER for what I did. And you do not have to believe me, but you do have to believe your daughter.
Whether you do believe me or not, I have never tried to personally contact her. I never had a reason to. She mentioned others had, who I suspect were bullying her, but that was not me, and I personally despise bullying (though I am sorry I have gone too far with that myself in our discussion post). Those private messages are something for her to explain, and you should be able to see whom they came from in her message inbox (personally, I am also very concerned whether her drinking so much alcohol a few days ago may have been a suicide attempt instead).
I am telling the honest to god truth that I had no intention of leading her into debauchery. I no longer wish to be saved, but I had no intention of dragging her here too, and I especially had no intention of exposing her to anything I was involved with. She is under age, and that would be both immoral and illegal. At most I was prodding, and asking questions, though obviously a bit too harshly. But out in the world where she eventually will have to go out by herself, there will be people who will be way more harsh than I am. And please, feel free to contact the forum poster named FAtlas and blame him for bringing that filth you saw onto this forum.
If your daughter is as distraught as she claimed she was, you need to listen to her, trust her, and console her, not get angry at her and abandon her for an entire year. I don't claim the right to tell you how to raise your daughter, but I believe it is you that is supposed to be raising and loving her, first and foremost, not god, and not treatment center councilors.

As for her horse figurines, they are her childhood, and may be the last part of it she has left. I was merely extremely concerned that, after a huge misunderstanding of who was responsible for what, you would mistakenly blame her and throw away what may possibly be the last remnants of her childhood innocence. I lied, because I was in anguish over what was happening, and was desperate to get the situation at least somewhat saved by any means necessary. Despite what I have made her believe about me, I am not a bad person. Though the act of making her believe that, which resulted in her being very distraught, was in the end a very bad thing for me to do.

I am not her caring friend. I do not consider her a friend, since I don't know her, and I'm pretty sure she does not consider me a friend either. But I am a very caring person, and I do care about her well being very much.
I don't know what happened with Rachel, so I don't know what you mean by "having used her innocence against her." I asked and confronted her with very tough questions about her faith, about her beliefs, and about her convictions. She chose to stand and fight to defend them, and has replied to them in a very strong and steadfast manner. I was completely honest in the compliments I have left her, and I do truly admire her for her strength and wisdom. You should be extremely proud of the way you raised her and of the way she handled herself against such extreme odds. I am sorry you feel that you have been left to manage this all on your own, and had I known the specifics of her situation, I would not have said what I have, but some day you will have to let her manage her own consequences as well. She has proved beyond doubt that she is able to. It's up to you to continue to let her.
I do understand how you feel, having to raise her on your own. She is your last link to your wife, and is entirely your responsibility now. That is undoubtedly an enormous burden to bear, and is a very very terrifying thing to go through. I just hope that you do not make the mistake of fearing for her too much, and end up protecting her so much that she ends up never being able to live life on her own. Besides learning in in school about how the world works, she needs to learn how to fight her own battles and her own demons. That is a terrifying thought, but that is not something you can teach her yourself. I am sure you realize this as well.
I do want you to hate me, if it means your feelings are directed at me only. If not hate, at least feel frustrated and angry at me. Just don't aim those feelings at her. If I am hounding you now, it is only because I am truly concerned about her. As I said, none of this was her fault, and she has shown incredible strength and resilience in her faith. If there is one thing I wish from all this it's that you do not punish her for things I've done.

I don't know what happened with her abusing her fair-well time. Her letter seemed genuine and heartfelt.

Yes, I am sorry for what I have done, but I hope you will see that you were wrong about her, and manage to find forgiveness in your heart for her. Forgiving her, and believing in her sincere claims that what she was telling was the truth is probably the only way to make this pain go away now. PLEASE forgive her, and PLEASE believe her. And if hating me helps you do that, no matter how unchristian that may be, then please do what you must.

Also, a lot of other people do not even believe that Ayn was a real person, and think her actions and your letters were all just made up to make people feel guilty. (for example, Ayn's profile says she lives in Waterloo, Iowa, but her account shows she was connecting from Levittown, Pennsylvania). So, some of them are continuing to make fun of the situation in this and on other forums. I don't know if there is anything you can do to prove that this situation is real. You can't really script something like this.  I created the charecter of a hyper libertarian + hyper christian + pony obsessed because those are three great perspectives to troll from because they can make people very, very irrationaly angry because of a lot of associated baggage from those groups.  

I wanted her to simultaneously think everything should be legal because she is libertarian but everything is evil because she is Christian.  It lets you troll from either direction.

My biggest laughs were actually the moments when people noticed how weak some of her homeschooling was (E Pluribus Unum, Australian Economics) but I also facepalmed when nobody noticed some of them (...why our founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson were so opposed to public schooling)

I also enjoyed the goatse bomb, I know it's low brow and overdone but it was a perfect oppurtunity considering the Cosby hack made it so likely passwords had been stolen.  

I prefer the more subtle stuff most of the time, so when it's time to go over the top and decapitate a pony it seems more credible.

Heh, Dad would not have cared what species.  The camp thing was actually established before the big Rassah/Pinkie debate, so it wasn't deduction or anything just a good coincidence.  There is wide awareness of those camps and how horrible they are so it was going to piss someone off.  I actually assumed you had gotten the message but didn't want to tip off dad since you were so quick to say you would buy the ponies.  I felt it was in charecter because she wasn't even asking to be saved herself, she was worried about the ponies.

People who have their user account banned (but not their IP) can use a special ban appeal feature. Each user can appeal once, and then they need to wait for the response.

The appeal queue will be available to admins. It will show the appeal and a link to the user's profile page. It'll have these action links: unban, reply, soft-deny (allow another ban appeal in 14 days), hard-deny (never allow future appeals for this user).

I'm not much of a Folsom or Dore Alley Fair kind of person. They are interesting just like the Pride Parade (where I met and talked to Lady Gaga) but not really my cup of tea. I like the Union Street Fair better but they stopped allowing alcohol this year so it's not as much fun as it used to be.

I don't actually have any pics of the fair but there are plenty online. I only went once to see what the big deal is and quickly found out. There are too many people in the middle of the street exchanging bodily fluids for my liking.
