I like the compactness of this latest banner, very clean!  I don't like "GH" for "GH/s" as it's just like giving the top speed of a car in miles (rather than miles per hour).  Kicking myself for not thinking of "Promo" Smiley.

Would it be easy to improve the "Est. Time To Find Block" and "Time Since Last Block" stats on the various pools.  Displaying hours and minutes is not good.  Instead, perhaps test on the duration and then display the appropriate units (so that the BTC PPLNS pool would be given in days and hours at the moment whereas the GG prop pool would be given in seconds).

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to change the time to block readouts. Perhaps I'll change it after I finish up merged mining & tenebrix.

I just moved the GG client to the main pool server. You might get an LP timeout, but it should auto adjust thanks to the proxy.

Are BTCs mined here anymore? its been 9 days since our last block. Maybe risk it all and switch completely to GG in hope that it catches.  Sad

Yes, BTC is still mined.. but I think we are the only GG pool currently.

The BTC hashrate is under 20, but I think that will also change soon as the pool size increases and we are one of the first to offer merged mining.

Also, GG is now trading on BTC-E.

I'm warming to the idea of having lots of options for mining.  The multicoin framework is what makes this pool stand out from the crowd and it's good that it's being used.  It seems many miners care deeply about variance and not so much about the reward system so I expect many people will split their hashing power between the pools to lower their variance as much as possible.

That said, I'm sticking with the BTC PPLNS pool.  I don't really mind even being the only one so long as when I stop mining and the pool goes to 0 Gh/s that the value in my recent shares is converted fairly into BTC and credited to my account.  I did a fair amount of solo mining before joining a pool (some before there were any pools and some more when the only options were 'Prop' and 'PPS - fee').  I'm glad that the BTC PPLNS pool is holding at 8 Gh/s for now.

Of course! and with a .02 BTC transaction fee to make sure it goes through in a timely manner. Wink

Nope, gonna let the promo roll.

That said.... my main machine took a dump trying to upgrade to oneiric. I'm starting from scratch reinstalling programs.

I see there was an issue with the Proportional BTC block payout, I'll have it fixed as soon as I can look at the code again (Thank goodness for backups)

Issue resolved. It seems the pool wanted to give you all GG for your efforts instead of BTC....

Thankfully the issue was already resolved in the merged mining code... so I just had to update and re-run the round.

nobody on IRC - inclusive mr. simplecoin - is willing to explain to a "normal" user like me, how to modify the delivered batch-file to mine TBX on their pool...

so really everyone will join this snobbish service... Tongue

Now i had a connect.   Grin
But for me as a non-expert it runs o.k. only for 2 or 3 minutes
with nearly full processor load: Core 1 - 87 % and Core 2 - 78 %
then it breaks down and shows many - per second - 1 hash found
and only 1 Core 50 % load, the second Core 2 % load...

I have tested it on two systems with the same result...

Please tell us when its o.k. again...

They are all running at port 8337. Just choose the pool you wanted in "Account Details".

I think "TBX Proportional Hash Rate" in Poll Stats should change to Mhashes/s. Ghashes/s gives nothing about the speed since TBX mining is very slow in hash speed.

how long does it take to make a share? I'm chugging along at 2khash/sec

I don't know the theoretic rate. It's unlike classical coin which is 2^32 hashes per share. On my computer that's about 5-8 min/share @ 1.4kh/s.

yeah, I'm getting that on mine too
I wonder how that works and how it's calculated

anyway, I get empty replies from server on some LONGPOLLS, can you look into it?
