Ether is a good and promising coin. I believe that this project has a good future. But I will never believe that ETH will become better than Bitcoin.
That is also my opinion on the topic of bitcoin and ethereum. Ethereum is good, but neither in 2019, 2020 or any other year will ethereum be able to displace bitcoin from 1st place. Certainly bitcoin will forever be the number one, but i can live well with that. no even Ethereum has stronger community and big investor in the backed, Ethereum ever can Replace Bitcoin place, and i never imagine if Ethereum can replace Bitcoin until whenever they trying. |

Well i think for the Marketcap who will pass the Bitcoin, it could be XRP. Why not ETH because the movement about marketcap ETH was really slowly. Sometimes XRP can beat the position 2 of ETH.
Currently marketcap of XRP is bigger than ETH's marketcap. I can't imagine the possibility of beating bitcoin with any alternative coin. XRP is centralized but i accept the fact that big banks should start from some point no matter which crypto they prefer. |

ethereum cant even surpass ripple as of now yet its dreaming yo overthrow bitcoin, thats just insane and ridiculous however once whales starts to boost ethereum again but it still wont claim that number one spot because bitcoin is always been the master of every altcoin in the world of crypto. |

I do agree, XRP is generating some higher volumes compared to ETH, due to hard fork and sudden increase in price makes the price of ETH decreased a lot in the market. I hope it will not cross the bitcoin but surely it will cross the volume of XRP. |

Is that even possible? I mean people know about Bitcoin more than they do Eth. And not to exclude the fact that Bitcoin is way expensive than Eth. But sure, Eth might become the second in line to btc, but to surpass btc? Waiting for that day ☺️

As for me, ETH will never be able to overtake bitcoin. I think the whole world accepted the fact that Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency.
Indeed, in the present situation it seems impossible eth takes over bitcoin. Bitcoin is certainly the most recognizable cryptocurrency and will probably remain number one for a long time. However, it is always possible in the future one of the currencies will grow so much it will be a real competition for btc. And it does not necessarily have to be eth. |

Although the time of this thread is incredible how people dream of seeing ETH overcome the BTC, but today it is easy to say that this is far from happening! It would be nice to see some coins not depend on the BTC to survive but it is necessary to understand that up to the present moment Bitcoin is the king! I still can't see that happening where ethereum prices can beat bitcoin in the near future. and in my opinion now what we have to do is remain optimistic that the market will recover later

it's difficult to say that Ethereum can pass bitcoin in 2019, from the data we see in this market it is quite difficult and large investors have not entered the market anymore for now

Many speculation that after fork of ethereum it will move up but I think eth will not haaprn that ethereum will beat the throne of bitcoin. But we don't need set a side the situation because we don't know what will happen in that two coin in the future. |

I do not think that the ether team has the goal to destroy Bitcoin. It seems to me that the developers of this project have their own goals.

Certainly not in individual coin price, and very doubtful in terms of marketcap. Maybe ETH will overtake BTC in cap in the long term, but until we have real mainstream adoption, then for the outside world BTC is the same as crypto and BTC price movements will continue to dominate the market and BTC will remain number one in cap. |

I don't think that Ripple can pass bitcoin in the long run when it comes to marketcap as this ripple has huge circulating supply that needs huge money to beat bitcoin in the top position, not unless bitcoin will fall down due to some negative issue. For the next 10 years bitcoin is still a valuable crypto that has trust from the traders and the crypto community. |

I don't think that Ripple can pass bitcoin in the long run when it comes to marketcap as this ripple has huge circulating supply that needs huge money to beat bitcoin in the top position, not unless bitcoin will fall down due to some negative issue. For the next 10 years bitcoin is still a valuable crypto that has trust from the traders and the crypto community. We need to decide on how exactly we can see the real leadership in the ripple cryptocurrency market. If we talk about capitalization, then everything is possible, because the cryptocurrency market has already shown its unpredictability.
