Charts all well and good, I was mining 10Mh of scrypt to ScryptGuild last night and it never reported more than 5.5Mh

Whats the deal with this pool?

45% skim off the top?

Working fine here.

M

Oh good well then nevermind, since it's ok for you then I should just deal with it.

Are you sure all your workers are pointing here?  Are you sharing workers across rigs?  Is your local hashrate report wrong?  All sorts of things that could be awry here.

M

it could be local HW errors will reduce some hashing rate, or stales can reduce hashing rate too . at least that what i have noticed. one day i will figure out how to get my r9 290x's to hash more than 500 k/hs without massive HW errors or stales .

I have 30 Gridseed Miners running on BFGminer producing 10Mh that appears to be sending to SG yet the pool is reporting 5.5Mh

It could be a million things so I am going to play with cgminer and CPU miner this weekend.

You have 290x's that aren't being properly used?  I feel bad for you man.  That's like owning a Porsche and knowing how to drive it.

Seriously, what's your setup?  memory speed?  GPU speed?  command line settings for cg/sgminer?  What model of 290x?  I think you should be able to get 800kh/s+ from them.  I looked long and hard at the GPUs before settling on my 280s.  Would have liked to stock up on 290s instead of 280s, but 280s seemed to be most cost effective.

I haven't used any of those Gridseed miners yet.  If they are 300kh/s a piece, times 30, that's 9MH/s.  Not sure how/why BFG is saying 10.

You can try pointing them at another scrypt pool and see what that pool reports.

yeah i been having hard time figuring out what i need to do to get these ASUS cards hashing faster: (i get no HW errors at all with this settings running at 72 - 73 degrees)

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.scryptguild.com:3333 -u aztecminer -p 123 --scrypt  -I 13 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192

if i up the intensity to 14 i get HW errors. if i change the thread concurrency to 32765 and cgminer wont start it gives me an error. i will try work on it some more because i know i should get more from these two cards. i dont know the memory speed or gpu speed atm. how do i find this in cgminer ?? is [G] ?? thanks!

edit: i think it says E: 1000Mhz and M: 1250Mhz (if this is the right settings to look at)

edit2: i changed E: 1000 and M: 1500 and P: 20 ............... i still getting 525 k/hs from each card w temps at 73 - 74.

Try E=950 and M=1500, get rid of -W in your command line settings.

This is what I use for my Asus 280x:

--scrypt -I 13 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192

running at E=1080 memory=1500

They are 330-350kh each which is 9.9 to 10.5 Mh

hmmm.. something happened. the memory speed is stuck at 150 and wont change so i had to reload cgminer and start over. i try ur settings and still got 525 k/hs.

Charts all well and good, I was mining 10Mh of scrypt to ScryptGuild last night and it never reported more than 5.5Mh

Whats the deal with this pool?

45% skim off the top?

Actually I think the algorithm that Eleuthria uses is 5% off the top, 20% off the bottom and two 10% bits out of the middle somewhere.  He's pretty crafty like that.

That would explain the holes in my data

hmmm.. something happened. the memory speed is stuck at 150 and wont change now which causing my hash rate to plummet to about 125 k/hs. anyway to fix this so the memory is back to 1500 ??

Driver crash?  Might need to restart the PC to fix it.

i deleted cgminer and replaced it and now is working. gonna try ur settings again. however i tried before and still got 525 k/hs ?? i am try again.

let me ask this question .. what is acceptable for HW errors. because if i bring intensity up then hash rate will go up but i get HW errors. at i 13 i get 0 HW errors no matter how long they hash.

0 hw errors imo... if you happen to get +200kh with maybe 1or2 hw a day.. id let that be acceptable

aztecminer, my settings for 950KH/s on OEM 290X's

Intensity 20
Vendors 2
Worksize 256
lookup gap 2
threadconcurrency 24600
engine 990
memory 1500
powertune 20

before you make those changes, make sure you delete any bin file in the cgminer folder.

let me know if you need more help.

I have 30 Gridseed Miners running on BFGminer producing 10Mh that appears to be sending to SG yet the pool is reporting 5.5Mh

It could be a million things so I am going to play with cgminer and CPU miner this weekend.

I also have 30 Gridseed miners running (850mhz) with cpuminer and it shows 9.5-10Mh at the pool. This does not look like a pool related issue.

Yes I am going to do cpuminer this weekend.

Seems like bfgminer is probably the issue.

Any tips?

let me ask this question .. what is acceptable for HW errors. because if i bring intensity up then hash rate will go up but i get HW errors. at i 13 i get 0 HW errors no matter how long they hash.

Dude you got to make the thread concurrency a multiple of 2560 - theres two numbers going around. I'm on 32765 with r9 290 the other one is 24500 some thing.

I would not mess around overclocking until i got the thread concurrency down and then meddled with the intensity. I don't mess with overclocking at all so I'm no expert on that.

I also only get about 800 kH/s. I also had problems with the cgminer.conf file so I deleted it and it runs configuration from the batch only - that might be your problem.

Heres stuff you need in the batch file..

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_OBJECTS_SYNC 1

--scrypt

also --lookup-gap 2
