Eleuthira, I am really saddened to hear that (IMO) the best Autoswitch multipool (if not only good one due to btc auto convert) is closing down.
As others have mentioned, why not have someone else take it over?

The whole point of using eleuthria's multipool is that I can trust him not only to pay out fairly, but to always try to make the pool as profitable as possible.

If you take eleuthria away from the pool, then you have just another multipool. It might be ok for a while, but long term it would depend on who was running it. If it was me, I'd just prefer to see something I created end rather than be driven into the ground.

Very sad indeed.

So will there be a manual withdrawal like btc guild?

Why?  I've answered this many times.  ScryptGuild auto payouts are already your full balance, and execute hourly unless they're extremely small (then its every 24 hours).  Adding the button wouldn't change the fact that it would just be batch processed with automatic payouts (even BTC Guild's manual payouts only execute twice an hour).

This is pretty much the reasoning in a nutshell.  I'd much rather end the pool than let somebody else take over or slowly die off.  There are problems with the current system which would require rewrites.  Operating a pool is a pretty new phenomenon, and the only way you have experience is if you're already running one.  Then there's the problem of ScryptGuild (and BTC Guild) being fully custom systems.  Every line is from scratch.  There are no frameworks for the backend or the frontend, outside of a little CSS/JS for the website.  All the actual work is done from scratch.  There are no comments, and they're written far from any kind of standard.  My code looks like 1990/1991 Diku MUD code, whether its C, C++ or PHP.  Actually, even worse, since I learned programming from ROT/ROM derivatives of Diku, which are like 3 forks away from Diku, each one deviating further from from the original code formatting.

I just don't have confidence that I could find somebody who could take over and keep the pool up to the standards I tried to set for myself.  While I'm sure there are many out there that could, there's no way to tell who could pull it off and who could completely screw it up.

OH NO! I've just seen this thread having gone to the site.

I maybe should've timed it better or been more up on this forum but the problem I now have is how can I withdraw my Bitcoin if it's under the 0.01 minimum for withdrawal? I don't think I'll get to the 0.01 before it shuts down...

I know it's a small amount but it's energy used and further down the line I may well kick myself for not getting it.

Also where's the next best place to go now? I signed up to a few in the past before choosing Scryptguild and they were all awful.

Cheers

The minimum is 0.001, so 1/10th the amount you thought.  After the mining servers are shut down on August 10th it will be reduced to 0.000x (though a fee will be deducted for anything under 0.001).

Ah thanks for the heads up man. I did do a bit of reading and was picking up on that from previous questions.

I've really enjoyed using the pool. I've been checking loads of others out and they're difficult to get into. Plus when you start mining it doesn't seem like you're connection with their servers is a quick.

When I was mining on the pool I was doing it with this as well...

Thats so dope, I bet she hashes at about 256kh/s scrypt and some BTC as well probably huh. so Cute was that a 200 USD rig? or 190 + the Mfalcon musht have cost a penny.

That rig also looks like its heat just sat around and made more heat. hate to say i got 30X that running on a single ac unit, I think i jumped in at a great time though.

I also just happend to Nail on the Dime getting out of scrypt guild, i have been raiding redd coin pools and realized that SG is my failover pool and i had 200k satoshis left in eles Cryptsy account. so guess ill have to pull up BFG miner and Change my Zeus miners to a different fail over after REDD coin goes down.  I guess Thanks Ele for the Solid pool, i was a little dissapointed after being told about a rewrite and a new coin list. your pool has responded the best to my miners/situation. I appreciate that, I hope we can work together again someday. Maybe if you let us SG members in on your new little secrete thats goign to out do scrypt mining... anyway. *in some tears Bye  Cry

Actually around 335kh/s at 850 freq. I only got the Gridseed because it fits well into the Falc. It was my original from when I was a kid that was pretty much destroyed so got some missing parts off ebay pretty cheap and got her rigged up. Have another one in a box at home but is nowhere near as satisfying as this.

I thought it might open up Bitcoin to a new audience. The parallels are infinite. The rebel alliance taking on the dark Empire... The Falc being a smuggler ship. I've just started up on TradeMyBit pool and it seems to be the next best thing to SG. I've been getting requests to do a Slave I version which might well work as well...

Glad you enjoyed man. Feel free to donate to the cause...

May the Bit be with you.

I always thought eleuthria turning his attention to alt coins was a minor miracle.  Like a double rainbow these things can be fragile and momentary Tongue   Alas I think ASIC has much reduced profitability on Litecoin so it is not so viable for home users ?
I recommend going with x11 or x13 if running home rigs its still worth the hassle and Ive used TMB, that is ok and also Ive used bcmultipool recently which covers x11 and they pay out in bc which is very fast to transfer or cash out which is useful (easier then juggling lots of different coins as a small user)

(Ive also played diku back in the day, do you know of the aardwolf guy as he was a big coder as I remember)

I've switched over to multipool.us and it seems pretty groovy.  Easy user interface, many supported coins and good integration with cryptsy.

(I assume it's not in bad taste to recommend other pools in this thread now that scryptguild is closing.)

Cant manually take out coins, so I wonder how users are supposed to take out their remaining amounts before the pull is shut. I used btc-guild quite a bit in the past before it became quickly unprofitable to do so, then merged mining was removed, used scrypt guild for ~2 months and now its being shut down.

this concept of not having manual payout is messed, I have many coins sitting there that have never gotten traded even if I set the coins above or below X so they should have traded.

Will coins remaining in accounts automatically be sent to users wallets or was this an oversite on not allowing manual payout?

Jesus, is nobody intelligent enough to read from posts that are from the previous page?  As E. said, if you have more than .01 of any coin, set your payout threshold to .01.  it will be paid within an hour or so of the setting.  If you have less than .01 (so that mean .00000000 to .00999999) of any coin, then that payout will be transferred out with whatever the network fee is for that particular coin.

So no.  No "manual" payouts.  No button to push.

Just wait until the pool closes and anything you have leftover will be sent to your payout address.  Now, let's copy/paste this about 1000 more times as people keep asking THIS SAME QUESTION on at least once on every single page of this thread.

I HAVE SET many of the coins on this pool to .01 and they NEVER traded NEVER paid out. a manual payout button would have been far easier to implement. some of these coins say like LOT I could have sold for a small amount a month or so ago when I wanted to withdraw them, but I was unable to.

Jesus, are people not able to read.

here, lets put from their main page here.
The mining servers will halt in 2 weeks, which is August 10th. Users will have until September 20th to withdraw their balances before the coin daemons and wallets are taken offline.

this was posted july 27th. no where on the page does it state to put all coins to .01 or whatever, even though I have tried and it did nothing.

My little GPU "rig" only hashes scrypt at about 140 kH/s.  I don't know what btc/mh/day means.
My ping times to the nearest servers run around 40 ms.

Hi,

Is there any reason why my approx btc balance has started accumulating way past my threshold and isnt getting paid out regularly like it used to?

To put things in perspective my threshold is set to .01 and my approx btc balance has reached .1.

This just started happening a couple of days ago. Previously as soon as my approx balance got a little bit above .01 it would pay the whole thing out and start again.

Approx BTC balance != Actual BTC balance.

Right now Cryptsy is having issues with WDC deposits (last deposit recognized was about 3 days ago), so WDC coins have been unable to be converted.  My guess is WDC makes up the majority of your approx BTC balance.

The lack of a stable altcoin exchange is one of the larger reasons for this shutdown.  The only one with any reasonable volume is Cryptsy (except BTC-e for LTC).  And Cryptsy is absolute garbage (constant delays, broken API, and a trading engine which is either flat out bugged, or rigged when trying to match orders).
