I don't know how that saying is true. There are a lot of stupids in the world. Some countries even have one of the biggest stupid as their President. But yes, stupidity can help you become poor from rich if you don't manage your wealth well.

I would rather rephrase this statement. It would sound better like ‘Ignorance is so close to poverty’.
An ignorant person (not a stupid one) has not the tool to judge correctly, hence it can make bad investment decisions, or not invest at all. Ignorance means lack ignoring something, being unaware. A person lacking in this cannot make anything turning his/her way.

I dont think stupidity become the main factor of people becoming so close to poverty. Laziness and ignorant are the main factor people becoming so close to poverty, even if you're stupid at something at first but if you want to learn and grow then you will probably overcome your stupidity. Many people were born stupid at first but they learn from their stupidity and grow stronger and smarter to overcome it. Staying stupid as an ignorant people would do will probably make you stay where you are and its become worst if you're born without wealth or close to poverty.

No ! I do not think the poor are the fools because there are  many poor people , they are not stupid, even they are very smart. There are many factors that make a normal person a rich person, such as hardworking, disciplined, ,..and smart is just a part .

I totally agree with you. You're right, they do not know how to manage their money. Even if, giving them the opportunity to do business, they can not do it. Surely, they are intellectually weak. And we can not save them either. To make them better, their own efforts need to be improved. It will satisfy this life.

It's certainly a great factor in terms of earning money most specifically for getting a high paying job or having a business. But there are some stupid people who do get a job albeit a low paying one and there are others who are just lazy and became poor.

just because it was close to stupidity meaning. Poor are fools ,most of poor people dont want that they are having,it just happen that thwy have no choice but to live with this,specially those whos in depressed places that the community only has one meal per day because of poverty

There are too many factor of being a stupid and i don't agree with this phrase it is just too general. And being a poor doesn't mean that you are stupid, some people are just relying only on their luck that's why you can call them stupid because of their persistence to do everything they can just to get what they want and it's not stupidity, it is courage.

It is true that some persons have missed golden opportunities that could have changed their life for good due to stupidity. But it is not always the case as some have remained poor due to the environment they were born, thereby not having the necessary exposure to succeed.

That's true. In the modern world the set of skills requiered to become rich this or that way is pretty different from those which are usually ascribed to smart people. Also, there are many examples of geniuses who lived all their life in poverty.

Not actually poor, the reason why some people are poor is because of lack of good opportunity to earn. Not all rich people are inteligent, and being rich will never make you wise.

I don't know any, can you name up a few? I am a strong believer of thinking different, especially so with most people don't look further than what they see and already know. I saw an opportunity in how ISP's were cutting off people's internet connections when downloading stuff through BitTorrent clients, which made me set up seedboxes and have people rent them for a 50% premium. It was relatively small scale back then, but I still managed to make a solid $1000 per month, till more and more resellers started to flood that market and there was not much in it for me anymore. Income went from an easy $1000 per month to under $100 per month, which was enough reason to quit.
