I tried to get http://opencores.org/donation to take BTC, they said they will look into it.

For obvious reasons its would be great if they did  Grin

I've sent a request to newzbin.com to see if they would accept BTC. We shall shall see. I believe it would be perfect for them.

DaFish...

A few updates. They are very busy ATM but it looks promising...

Here's how things have gone down so far...

ME:

Just wondering if you ever considered accepting Bitcoins as payment? I believe it would be a perfect fit for this type of site. Considering the new TOR site and the untraceable payments it might be mutually beneficial for this site and the Bitcoin marketplace.

MRViolet:

Hi,

I have spent some 3 minutes studying it, but, at this moment, it seems to me as some kind of non-sense, similar to a toy [used over the net]. On top of this, it is in a beta stage. I seriously doubt, that it would be a current replacement for money.

Kind regards,

ME:

I appreciate you taking a few minutes to look at it. I understand your hesitation.

Check out mtgox.com if you get a chance. They are handling about 40-60 thousand us dollars a day in trade and exchange . The price of bitcoins has gone from .70US when I began to almost $4.50US per coin today. Not too shabby. Certainly more than a toy. Wink

They also have a merchant system that makes it easy to accept bitcoins. The best part for your users is that transactions are anonymous, no transaction fees, and no charge-backs. The anonymous part is what I like the other stuff helps you. Not to mention that I find it much easier to donate a few extra bitcoins...(kinda like casino chips in a way)

Either way thanks for a great service.

MRViolet:

I am responding via PM, because you have already "resolved" the ticket and it has been closed.

Thank you for your suggestion.

While, I have no time to look into this in these months, please remind me later this year to look into Bitcoins again.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

ME:

I will do that! Thank you again for taking time to respond. Grin

Bitcoin is now live on http://www.memorydealers.com

I'm also paying $2500 a month to advertise Bitcoin on http://www.freetalklive.com  a national radio program on nearly 100 radio stations and XM Satalite radio.

I also have a Bitcoin billboard going up on the side of a very busy expressway here in Santa Clara California.  (Lawrence Expressway between Central and El Camino)
I will post photos as soon as it is up.

Plese send your bounty payments to:

Bitcoin is now live on http://www.memorydealers.com
I tried to do guest checkout to test this, but couldn't find any Bitcoin option. Also, it's not listed at http://www.memorydealers.com/payment-methods.html.

One of our coders at PowerFolder has added a module to InterSpire Shopping Cart to supply bitcoins, he will make it OpenSource aswell. Not sure how it Qualifies, his initiative allowed us to make our software available to BTC (see selling section) but i am sure he would appreciate a tip or two here at this addy 1MYo5xaGxz5VFJHUgai9b6RbDKvCJ87Z4x.

I'm working on getting http://torrentfreak.com to accept btc.  Here's my e-mail to them:

Hi Ernesto, Hi Enigmax,
I love what you're doing with TorrentFreak!  I imagine you've got some good revenue coming in from your ads,
but I'd like to support you via Bitcoin.  I wonder if you'd put up a link for accepting donations?  It'd be great to see an article about Bitcoin as well, I think your readers would like this p2p based currency.

Thanks,

Bitcoin is a huge thing to wrap one's mind about. You need to at least tell them what Bitcoin is, how to use it and what they can do with it, complete with the relevant links.

I have pursued 4 different local (norwegian) charity organizations to accept Bitcoin. They all have PageRanks in the 6-7 range.
http://reddbarna.no, http://kirkensnodhjelp.no, http://legerutengrenser.no, http://rodekors.no

These should be inclined accept Bitcoin, as Bitcoin is just great for one-way donation purposes.
