I wrote to Grooveshark and asked them if they might consider accepting bitcoins for either (or borh) donations or as payment when upgrading accounts.

Mahkul, I pledge 100 BTC, up to a maximum of 500 BTC, for the "shops" category of your pledge.
So far Bitcoins users and miners have grown faster than the number of shops. It is very important that, in addition to trade between individuals, we have as many shops or merchants accepting Bitcoins as possible to make the Bitcoin economy more stable and robust.
To qualify, the shop must match the current description that Mahkul gave: Google page rank of 3 or above, the person must post to this thread beforehand, etc.

Do you mean that you pledge 100 BTC per shop?

I'm looking into setting up a BitCoin checkout in my online video game store, started in January ( http://www.eleuthria.com). Trying to determine the best way to automate the process and hopefully get it implemented near the end of the month. I'm also looking into commercializing my store's engine later this year, since I have some very unique features thanks to coding it from scratch. The store is integrated with eBay and soon Amazon, so a store can easily sell on all 3 websites while keeping a single central inventory which can remove products/quantity counts from each site as they sell on the others. If I do that, I will definitely look into including BitCoin as one of the checkout options in the default build. Have you taken a look at MyBitcoin? They have a shopping cart integration toolkit which could of use. Also, mndrix has experience developing Bitcoin checkouts (in fact he built one for jjgames.com which is in the same market) so you may want to ask him for advice or even hire him for the project.

Try contacting the EFA (electronics frontiers australia) I emailed them awhile ago to see if they would setup a bitcoin address but never heard anything more. I heard rumors they wanted to set up an address.

Did you try contacting a specific person or just send it to the general email address? I know one of the board members, so it might be worth waving this under his nose and see what we can get done. Actually, this is giving me some other ideas, I think I need to make a list of other viable candidates.

Just wanted to let you know: I am writing an email to the owner of taogames ( http://swingpad.com/dustyboots/wordpress/). He got some pretty interesting role playing games there. If there are still bounties for new shops i want him to get all of it. Florian btw ... hi and hello as this is my first post to this board
