Im not sure exact staking reward time scale is obvious as not every coin in engaged, many are stored on exchanges and used in trading activities.   The major exchanges for BLK dont run hot wallets that would stake.  
This lack of participation by some raises the rewards for everyone else who takes the trouble to run a wallet for 24hr or more and confirm transactions.   If I remember right its like 5% yield on your holding, its not a bad hold overall.

I read someone accuse POS as centralised because bigger stakes get reward more often but I find its fairer then POW.   I dont think its favours the biggest holders disproportionately.

I think an account model is okay, as long as there is some pruning techniques done to address blockchain bloat. Also it would be nice to see a superior version of DPOS where there is no set number of delegates but maybe you can rely on better hardware for stakers... perhaps a benchmark test?! Also a more random method of block selection would be nice.

It should be said, if Blackcoin becomes BlackNet, BlackHalo would probably not be coded for BlackNet if switching to an account driven model because that would be a very dramatic change to the code. Although this depends on the API commands rat4 has. If he adds smart contracts at least I can coach how a simple DDE contract (could) occur.

So most likely BlackHalo will stand with the original Blackcoin community. And of course I support whatever rat4 does code and consider him a good friend in the cryptosphere.

Probably both. If rat4 does a snapshot then he will have to market the new Blacknet as a separate project. Regardless both chains would still exist most likely. Although someone should go ahead and confirm this.

At the moment situation is quite unclear, because rat4 hasn't been communicating with community. So community doesn't know his vision and hence we can't agree or disagree with it. So we can only wait until he provides enough information. But I think there are few possibilities. 1) Majority of community agrees with rat4's vision and dev(s) make changes to codebase. This results only Blackcoin rebranding to Blacknet with hardfork. Exchanges update BLK to Blacknet 2) Majority of community agrees with rat4, but minority of community decides to continue old blockchain as it is. This should yield a situation, where BLK in exchanges updates to Blacknet and minority of the community would have to try to get BLK listed to exchanges 3) Minority of community agrees with rat4 and BLK blockchain continues unchanged, but Blacknet snapshot would have to try to get listed to exchanges. In cases of chain split, you get both by owning BLK and keeping it in your own wallet. Exchanges are not under any obligation to give you any snapshot coins.

There is no marketing.

There is no new exchange.

Janko is a good man. But he can't save BLK.

The advantages of BLK are not obvious.

At least now, BLK can't see hope.

I occasionally come to see it. I used to have great hopes for this coin. I am very disappointed now.

You guy really don't  known blackcoin very much. 
Blackcoin is improving because many guys are supporting it.
Rat4 has announced turning to new project named blacknet. Just waiting his work.
