Smartphones are not suitable for real Bitcoin mining. But you can do some minor mining like claiming from faucets and also from coinpot and emining. But they all yield small coins.

Smartphones didnt prioritize that (mining capable) what they mostly develop is the good quality of camera the storage and the specs for gamers.. Only electroneum so far is i can mine on my phone for they have one suitable for smartphones, but as for bitcoin i guess it will take a while or never happen.. But hope so....

Smartphone for bitcoin mining? you are just destroying your phone.
Smartphone as digital wallet, you can simply download an app / wallet and that's how you make it as your wallet.
It already is happening as we speak. HTC is creating a Blockchain phone and another smart phone with such abilities already exits. Its not fully intended for mining, but it does mining apparently. There are apps intended for mining: https://www.techradar.com/how-to/how-to-mine-cryptocurrencies-on-your-android-smartphoneAlthouugh mining will fuck phones up, it is still possible. Phones by Razer and Asus ROG(which has liquid cooling) can do a little mining but again, is a resource drainer.

I think smartphones can do bitcoin but its to risky i can destroy your phone it will heat up leading up to overheating smartphones are likes computers but computers has large processors rather than smartphones mining needs that in my opinion smartphones is not good in bitcoin mining

As we all know that smartphones are just like computer nowadays that has strong storage capacity and processor. This I think could be enable to mine bitcoin and this is what I am waiting for if there are any smartphones company that would offer their smartphones for bitcoin mining or even as a smartphone that works as digital hardware wallet for bitcoin and other crypto. I am waiting for it to happen. Do you think that it will happen?
This had been discussed for how many times and i just forgot where that thread is but since this is already being said then for the sake of on-topic then mining thru smartphones isnt possible even just mining altcoin itself would not really be ideal because it would just burned up your mobile and waste it up and come to think theres a specialized apparatus or equipment that can mine bitcoin. Even on the latest miner of the market do generate sufficient hash isnt already profitable how much more on a smartphone? Just a simple logic.

Really? I once knew, my friend uses his smartphone for mining cryptocurrency. But, need to know the smartphone is only has a small strength when compared with miner and computer. And mining using a smartphone will be very burdensome smartphone that leads to damage. To my knowledge other than smartphone can be used for mobile wallet can also be used for mining.

Not going to happen. You need thousands of the best phones to be able to compete with only a miner.

It Is possible to occur In the future mate because as we notice by the time or year passed by the more the technology evolved Itself. So there's a tendency that It will come to reality to used smartphone to mine bitcoin. With the development of the technology as the year passed by, it will be possible in the future, some of the smart phones now are doing this, or maybe the app of a specific coin.

Well that is something that is hard to do because, bitcoin mining is really hard and requires a lot of hardware power and electricity and putting all of that into a small device is really hard, high performance computers struggle to mine etherum let alone bitcoin and you are talking about phones, that will require reducing the mining difficulty of bitcoin and that will cause a lot of complication.

I dont know about destroy but the power consumption would be far too much to justify. Also heat, alot of these phones cannot handle the heat they producing if used 100% every hour. However its not impossible in some alternative way like proof of stake would be possible. Its not encouraged to do so for staking because to carry around your asset worth on a phone would be fool hardy and make that person a target. The POW reason is that mobile phones are just not that efficient vs normal circuits which can be cooled and stressed to a greater limit. The biggest thing about a mobile phone always is its unplugged mobility and communication and I agree that is a great asset that could be used in a network. Its most commonly used in social networks only informally but I dont think its impossible to have some security improvement occur from distributed mobile users

You can't write off the possibility of mining on a smart phone so simply. A few years ago people would call you "mad" if you told them there would be smart phones which could direct you to wherever you wanted to go. It may not come too quickly but it is possible.

You never know! With the help of nano technology we may be able to achieve smaller chips that produces as much power as a full sized mining rigs in future. I mean that is not the reality now but it may become in future. If you were 80's kid, did you ever think that you can carry a computer in your pocket? Because what computer we have seen that time was Pentium one and it required an air conditioned room to run that. Nano technology achieved that impossible and now we carry a smart phone inside our pocket. So keep your hope high as we don't know where the technological achievements can take us! What's the point on making a phone that will be able to mine? You'd still keep it on charge while mining and it will act just like an usb chip. What do you expect? A miner that can be carried out? There won't be any usage for it anyways.

If you purchased this and try it for mining, good luck. This can be sort of marketing and riding the hype of cryptocurrency mining like last year when people are buying GPU cards. I guess not, for the reason smartphones now do have a high specifications that can almost be par on netbooks or even laptops.
They may have high specs but still it's not enough to mine bitcoin like what STT said about the heat effect that it will bring.
What's the crypto he's mining? Maybe he's mining ETN that makes you look like you're really mining on your phone but its not.

This is really possible maybe next year because of the smartphones that are being released year by year has a greater specs that almost beats the specs of a laptop. If pcs and laptops can do it, probably smartphones can too.

Maybe after 5 years smartphone will be used for mininh we never know, year by year the technology growing fast and mining using a high specs phones are not possible. However I see some apps that can mine coins but I think its a fake.

Too much stress on the phone. I don't think this will happen anytime soon. Since phones are super tiney compared to miners already it would heat up way too much and most likely destroy your phone. If not, it would render your phone useless very quickly. Battery is also an issue. But at that point you are better off getting a computer to mine it since you will be hooked on to the power all the time.

I really don't see this. Too many issues mainly with the heat and battery factor. You would be constantly charging that thing you will call phone. It won't be mobile phone but it will be phone. But of course nothing is impossible so we might see something like this in the near future.

As much as it does sound as a lofty ambition, we can compare that logic with some referential data. Look at the term 'computer', it does encompass a whole lot of device-inclusions that were not in the original design as in the days of the vacuum tubes. So it is possible and could really be a turning scape for the entire blockchain industry. It's possible that companies are currently venturing into that scope as we speak.
