Investing in the crypto currency will always be a risky business. This is due to the fact that decentralized crypto currency has high volatility, because its price is formed only on the basis of the ratio of supply and demand. In this regard, to invest in the crypto currency you need only free money and no more. Especially not worth the risk with bitcoin. Further, it will be extremely unstable, especially if its price rises.

Yes. I agree. Don't invest all you have in bitcoin. Specially your properties. Investing in bitcoin is very risky. There's a tendency of losing all the things you have. My suggestion is you need to think first before doing any risky thing.

Bitcoin investment is one of the safest and lucrative investment in our contemporary world. Even the greatest investor would not advice a colleague to put all his money into investment. At least, the human needs are not all about the future security. Even with investment, it is best to diversify the portfolio in order to increase the chances of making profit in the end.

And remember to not buy at the top, as it can all come crashing down in a few days. I feel sorry for those that bought BTC at $20 000 and have been holding ever since.

Nobody should put all its money into Bitcoin. Like you said, we all here would like to see that moment where value of Bitcoin become 100K and it might happen. But last year December and this year January showed how risky investing all the money on Bitcoin could look like. Invest. Invest strong if you want. But not all in.

I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?

Yes, you are right. We must be able to manage the money we have, investing all that we have is very risky. We have to divide 40% in savings and 60% for investment, and if there is a failure in investment we don't lose everything.

You are very right in you analysis and when it come to investment in general you don't have to invest all your savings in an investment all you need to do is to save some for rainy days because investment some time can not be predicted of it being able to make profits some time you run into debt also so at that you have something to fall back to. So is bitcoin investment.

Your advise is appreciable because never invest our all money in bitcoin or other crypto over hope gives u difficulties. we are investing on that platform where we are not sure that will give us profit or loss so don't do this, invest that money which we can afford when we loose because profit depend on right time market entry and exit.
Bitcoin value is unpredictable we don't know what happen tomorrow when it down or up, don't invest all your money in bitcoin you know the value is unstable we are not sure if we get more profit so try to invest the money which can afford to lose it is important reminders for us.

I just can't believe people (adults!) can do something like that! How is that possible? I thought everybody should have heard or read these stories... Please, be prudent and don't be so greedy...

Someone selling all his property for crypto investment? I can't imagine such risk. I don't think that was a calculated risk. If it fails, it means the person is doomed forever.

This same sound warning has been given to people over and over again. Learn to invest only an amount you can let go in cryptocurrency so that you don't put up unnecessary cry or complain if the market turns negative.

Absolutely.Do not invest all your asset to bitcoin because we all know that crypto currency is volatile so it may rise or fall from time to time so I would suggest to only invest what you afford to lose so that whatever happens who will still have money to start all over agian.

If you have no idea what you are doing and you just got influenced by others, don't do it. Don't sell all your wealth and invest it in bitcoin. Bitcoin is not easy money like people think of. One must strive first before making it big here. Don't get influenced by those success stories, they have worked hard just to get there. They didn't become millionaires overnight.

I think BTC can't return back 20.000 USD as time 2017, because lending no longer exists so there is not much money to pour into the market crypto. Multiple ICO scam, dump making investors afraid. Last year's multiple ICO pump x5 x10 should attract more people and many sources of money so BTC pump 20.000 usd and market cap 800 billion USD

Although Bitcoin is one of the lucrative and safest investment you can join, it is always smart to leave part of your money for savings jus for security and invest an amount you can afford to lose irrespective of the investment type or portfolio.

I agree that putting all of your eggs in one basket is not advisable. I agree that diversification is crucial to minimize risk. However if individual investors decide to put everything into bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, they should at lease understand all of its risks.
