For me, bitcoin is still an investment, not a money! ( To me) Bitcoins to become currencies, Bitcoin and altcoin need to be developed and widely accepted!
Yeah right, bitcoin for me is an investments that have value and will be able to give us good profit if value of bitcoin will increase, then if we need money then we can convert it to fiat.

yes i know, but as long as bitcoin is valuable people will call it investment, because bitcoin has a value that can increase/decrease at any time. in long term the value of bitcoin will increase. I think investing and gambling have little in common, they are just putting money and hoping to increase from the previous amount. but the difference is that people who gamble will never get rich, but people who invest can become rich, even though sometimes their investment loses.

Though it is good that we do not call bitcoin an investment. But it will only be possible if people use it as currency only. But I see greed of the people will not let it remain simply currency only. I see several threads where posters asking question when the bitcoin will cross $xyz amount.
So it is basically the greed which converted this beautiful currency to investment. Had it been currency only I am sure there would have been more number of actual users of Bitcoin because then it would not have been so costly.
But I think now it is not possible that it will just be treated as currency. No one can be able to stop it becoming investment.

For me BTC is still an investment. It is like gold. Of course BTC has great perspectives and huge future but there a lot of questions asked by the states' governments. The problem of regulation is so important today

I think to make bitcoin a currency which will be regulated in the world, first we have to make it a investment market because then people become familiar to this new thing and they accept it without having any fear. For introducing every new thing in the market some steps have been taken so that the new product can be familiar to the society and to make bitcoin a digital currency which can be regulate without the control of any countries government the step of making it an investment market was very good and now we just have to wait that the price of bitcoin get stable so that it can become a world currency.

Bitcoin is more popular as an investment, even though Bitcoin was never created as an investment, most people are interested in Bitcoin because it can bring them more profit than cash. Data and charts to help us determine the market value, so buying and holding Crypto is called speculation.

Can you stop calling Bitcoin an investment?
This damages the cryptocurrency. Bitcoin was not created to become an investment. Before Bitcoin, there were some digital currencies years back, the goal was always to be able to create a (digital) currency free from central banks and governments. Cypherpunks and other anarcho-capitalists are at the origin of this idea, perhaps 20 or 30 years ago. None were intended to make an investment to be rich quickly. You won't find in the white paper "investing" mentioned, you won't find any post from Satoshi mentioning it
Considering Bitcoin as an investment, this is the reason why we have more and more regulations, G20 summits and others craps, KYC, etc... The word "Crypto-assets" didn't exist before, why did they create it? Because you even consider it an investment, then why shouldn't they? Bitcoin could be a lot more accepted and used by now. Why should a merchant agree to be paid in Bitcoin? He wants money, not a piece of your investment.
You're not even investing, you are just gambling with money. Go to the altcoins board, you will surely find plenty of ICOs where you can say you invested in. I have something for you, ICOs used to raise money are no different than "Crowdfunding". If you want to invest then there are a lot of Crowdfunding websites where you can invest in real startups with fewer risks, (you won't find any project using photos from Pixabay...)
Why don't we see cryptographers anymore? Guess the reasons
It's the fact that many people come to bitcoin and cryptocurrency because they want to invest and earn some profit from it. It is very fast to earn money but risky. I think that the "investment" thing that follows the name of Bitcoin will never be erased anymore and it will continue lol. To be honest majority of the people right now that possess Bitcoin thinks that Bitcoin is created for investment purposes without knowing its sole purpose, to be a digital money that no is controlling or manipulating but look at it today it became an investment medium because of the hype and FOMO that are spreading. I guess this is the downsides of decentralization it can turn a project's sole purpose to another purpose and only the community decides by it on their desires I guess. Anyways even Bitcoin became a digital asset and an investment medium there are a lot of people out there that are happy with this results especially those people who mined and bought Bitcoins at its early years and hodl it and makes a lot of folds from their "investment"(I think this is the correct term now lol).

it is impossible. Bitcoin is good investment. we see, 2017 was good for crypto. most of people was invest in, got lot of profits. so you can't stop calling Bitcoin an investment. Bitcoin is very promising. allthough this year is not good for Cripto. just wait and see.
Bitcoin is very promising, yeah. Thousands of people were buying bitcoins when it was $15,000 and$ 20,000. Today Bitcoin is crawling at $6,500. What a powerful investment for those people. Very promising, much return, such profits Now if you tell me, Bitcoin will recover and go higher, I can tell you, you're only speculating, the dice are not thrown For me BTC is still an investment. It is like gold. Of course BTC has great perspectives and huge future but there a lot of questions asked by the states' governments. The problem of regulation is so important today
Did you invest? You surely just trade or hold what you earned freely online, so can't be called an investment. The huge future of Bitcoin is reduced by the community considering it an investment. If the regulations problems are so important it is because people consider it as their investment. Otherwise, we wouldn't need to care about regulation as Bitcoin has been created to be free from regulations

If we don't call it an investment then what is it? If I trade in forex and earned some profits because the price of the currency that I bought went up against the dollar, isn't it that we can call it an investment because the money I spent in buying that currency can increase or decrease after a short period of time.

Limited supply and the distribution process leads to a gold analogy. It is also not difficult to see the similarity of something that was used universally as a currency and is also considered an asset and therefore an investment.

Bitcoin investors are growing their money with bitcoins in several ways. People who have understood they cycle and have taken advantage of it are jsut making huge profits. If bitcoin is not an investment then tell me what is it. A gamble or what? ??

bitcoin is related to commodity assets, the word "investment" will continue to stick to its body, bitcoin is a currency, but some countries only allow it as an asset, it may be such a misleading investment view with business ponzi etc, but generally depends on their understanding, and I sure bitcoin is still in a positive corridor.

fortunately because of the bitcoin volatility people are speculating on its value.its hard to get away from calling it an investment because of this and also because of its positive long term outlook so there is Hoarding, trading and a smaller amount of spending want a to collect their share from people liquidating back into FIAT so they have to give it a name suppose if we all kept bitcoin seperate from FIAT and traded among ourselves for goods and services it would be different.....

Hmmn... I think this is quite basic and factual! A lot have abused the use of the bitcoin and now, what is perceived is seeing the bitcoin as a means of investment and misconstrued from its main purpose/intent. This also applies to most ICOs that now only have the purpose of investment motives/orientation.

For me, Bitcoin is still an investment, don't budge if the price of it get low, It is part of the market and the nature of the currency like bitcoin, Volatility is part of it, Investing in Bitcoin is a high risk profit and loss, we just need to know when we will invest on it, When we stop calling it an investment, then what is it? When you buy low and sell high it is an investment.
