If you remove the bit I struck out, then yes, you've got it.

The only bit you got wrong is that knowing the hash of the secret seed doesn't let you find the secret seed itself.  To find the secret seed you need to gain access to the server somehow, or be told it by someone.

The point of a hash is that it is one way.

If I tell you I'm thinking of a secret, and its hash is 1b8f391a4813d911de3f94d624ccdc82c12fc6a6 then you can't figure out what the secret is without guessing a whole bunch of times, hashing each guess, and seeing if it gives you 1b8f391a4813d911de3f94d624ccdc82c12fc6a6.

But when I tell you later that my secret was 'this is my secret', you can hash that, and see that it gives you that same long string of text, and be pretty certain that I'm telling you the truth.

There's a chance that some other secret would give the exact same hash, but it's almost impossible to find two secrets with the same hash.

(In this example I used sha-1 for the hashing because it produces shorter hashes; in practice people use sha-256 or sha-512 which produce longer outputs making 'collisions' even less likely).

Collision of Sha-256 is highly unlikely. With the current computational power, it is more unlikely than the entire human race being wiped out in the next second or so, if my memory servers me right.

So just so I understand correctly, you're saying get really big bomb = getting all the bitcoins?

I believe I did tell you that some people are against any gambling, especially dice site, that has under a 2% or 1% house edge.  It appears the 1dice guy took advantage of that and nailed you.  If you can't PROVE 100% that the guy cheated then that's too bad and you have to pay him.  If there is no proof of cheating, then I would say the investors need to take the hit.  It's called investing for a reason, it's not called "guaranteed profit".

Yes, they need to pay that out if they did not have or want to pay, they shouldnt let him bet/win so much. Its rly inresponsible from them. I hope he gets paid.

True. Investing is often risky, if can't take the risk, better go with fixed income deposit.

Well, the site says when they re-open they will allow withdrawals but not rolling, so I'm not sure what they are talking about. Maybe they're talking about a little delay before allowing rolls again?

This thread is funny though, there were so many cheerleaders early on and I was thinking to myself, "Why? they are a totally new site and with such a low house edge it is dangerous."  Guess I was right, I don't see them anywhere now...

Something smelled to me about this site right away I remember.  I never played here.

Look at the FIRST thing in the OP about features of the site:
"As low as 0.99% house edge!"

What the heck does that even mean?  The way it's written it means that maybe 1 bet you make will have a .99% house edge but your next bet could have a 99% house edge!  and judging by the plays here recently some bets had a -100% house edge.

Seems like everyone has an agenda in this thread, myself included tbh.

Will be interesting to see what comes of this, I'm slightly concerned by how long it's dragging on for (plus the fact the site has been taken down, rather than just having the betting feature disabled) but I'm somewhat confident that the admin will sort this out eventually.
