It's new but I think it will go far is LibrexCoin LXC. It looks promising and has an active dev and community.
Most coins look "promising" but get dumped by the devs very soon... I agree with you we have many time these words this is promising and dev are very hard working and good but coins dumb just in few days My theory: There are only a handful "real" creators. Most coins are made not by the dev, but by a 3rd Person. Those handful of real devs are just using coins to pump and dump then move on.

They are coming on very late with anonymous technology that is already very outdated. I highly doubt that there will be any significant price change.
Outdated?? Please explain your position, cause as far as I can see anoncoin with the zerocoin implementation will thanks to the RSA-ufo's together with the I2p give us the first truly trustless anonymous cryptocurrency. That is hardly outdated, that is in fact in the forefront of the anon-race. Why do you say "when" , at this moment it is more like "if" !
True, the implementation is long overdue given previous ETA's, but it's not like the ANC team is cloning some previous shitcoin or working with the GUI. This is groundbreaking work. Those interested can watch the steady progress at github. https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/commits/zerocoinI wouldn't say ANC is a sure thing, but in a thread asking for best alt to invest in 2014 ANC is with it's trackrecord, stable dev-team and steady progress IMO the best investment-object given the currently ridiculously low prices and the possible future appreciation when/if zerocoin is implemented. One buys when there is blood in the streets.

There is a reason that there isn't a proof of concept yet

Stellar is no altcoin.. That said, Stellar might be successful, still people buying that coin will lose money!

I like stellarcoin for best alt.
Go ahead and tell us why you like it for best alt? Was it the rebranding from ripple because of ripple's epic loss of investor cash? Was it the inherent scam that haunts all non-POW coins? Because in my opinion you couldn't pick a worse investment than stellar. My picks for the past month: Cloak XC XMR VRC But really I am mostly into cloak and xc because I think money laundering is the only volume that will keep any alts successful and anonymity is key there.

Trying to hype one of the most hates coins (of the newer ones) are we? That is not going to work. Stellar is not even a decent altcoin, it is just a copy of ripple.

It's a fork of Ripple with a 99.7% premine at the moment and Stellar Stripe ("SS") controls 94% of tradeable Stellar. They'll be sitting on that premine for years like Ripple. They already reigned on their promise on giving $10 to sign ups (they've been sending less or none at all).

I'll go for captcoin.. After the free giveaway of captcoin (september 13, 2014 40 days from now) it'll be almost impossible to mine if you don't have it making the coin rare and unique. Invest in captcoin now! It's still free (just solve some captchas) or if you want to buy it it's around $0.005 per coin. More details for captcoin here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683776.0The most important point of CAPTcoin (its unique feature) is its distribution. Here's some information I may add: CAPTcoin is the best distributed PoS coin: During its first 11 days (so far), 2,400+ unique addresses have claimed their share. ( More stats.) The total distribution time is 50 days (still running). After that time, all remaining coins will be destroyed. Distribution is made by solving captchas. It's important to mention that those captchas don't generate any income. They're used for these reasons: - People must invest time and effort to claim their coins. Therefore, they will appreciate them and won't dump them.
- Prevent anybody from using bots to claim an unfair share. Anybody can claim several times, but only investing real time.
- Anybody can claim. Mining rigs are not required.
Hundreds of people are using crypto-currencies for the first time thanks to CAPTcoin.

Ora right now is only like $55K capitalization and it's undervalued I think.

ORA is a great buy right now.
I am really split between 7-8 pretty good choices!
ORA,QORA, BTSX and NXT leading the pack in my estimation. But I change my favorites on almost daily bases....
