The problem is, you can't change an adaption rate that fast.

Imagine you make $2000/month. 2000 ZEIT is barely over 1 cent. While it would be nice to look at things like that, people can't afford to switch like that, in order for that person to make their $2000 a month, they'd have to make 400,000,000 @ 1 satoshi, 200,000,000 @ 2 satoshi, and so on. Obviously that's not possible.

Even to cut that in half, at $1000/month, would be 200m/100m at current rates. Not going to happen. :/

Yes of course, noone says you have to abandon your day job.
At first you can only spend a couple of hours from your free time (monthly) to provide services. This would be extra income.
Secondly, you can ask let's say 70% of what you would normal ask in fiat.
So what you will be doing is sacrificing a small amount of your free time to help promote cryptocurrencies and what you believe they represent.
And who knows, if cryptos become a success you may benefit as an early adopter.
If they fail, you will only have lost time.

I just introduced myself on the VertCoin thread:-

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=404364.msg5854518#msg5854518

As I'm mining it now.

The maths say that it's definitely more efficient use of my hashpower to mine something else & buy Zeit, while the price is so ridiculously low.

Looking forward to start hammering down those sell-walls!

Have a great Sunday, everyone Grin

Can I get stake when I close my wallet and lock it?

Nope!

Thank you.

how can I get the stakes?

Your wallet is encrypted or not?

encrypted

Open your wallet - Debug - Console and type:

Code:
walletpassphrase your_passphrase 999999 true

your_passphrase must be the password that you used to encrypt your wallet...

And then leave your wallet open...  Your coins with more than 20 days old will generate blocks and your rewards...

Day 2, four receive transactions over 20 days old. Still no minting.  Sad Not sure what the problem is. Wallet is unlocked. I updated wallet version yesterday to 1.0.1.0. WTH? I am relying on this minting to continue generating coins for me since the reward and block halvings are slowly making it unrealistic to CPU mine anymore. And I don't have any free money available to buy from the exchanges, as much as I would like to. Any thoughts on why I'm not minting? I had six receive transactions between the 2nd and 3rd of March, and then one send transaction on the 3rd of March. Is it possible that send transaction is causing the holdup right now? The first four receive transactions that have passed the 20 day mark are in greater total than the one send transaction. Not sure if that would help someone help me figure out what is going on.

It also depends on the amount of coins. If I understand it right, the more money you have mature for minting, the more chance you will make a block. Also, the more mature your coins are, the higher the chance. So what amount are you talking about?

Steve, just like with POW mining, there is a bit of luck involved with POS. So one person may open up their wallet and receive a stake almost instantly, while someone else may have to wait days or weeks.

I remember waiting many days to receive a stake from Peercoin, but with CACHecoin I received a stake after only a few hours.

Thanks for the replies so far. To answer the question about amounts, nothing really large yet. All four transactions are under 1300 Zeit each. But I do have a 400,000 Zeit receive transaction that will be maturing today. Hopefully something will happen with that. I just want to know that it is working right mostly.

Was the send greater than any single one of the receive amounts?

If it was, then it had to use 2 or more inputs to generate the output. What was not sent would come back to you as (change) into a new address. That change would be created on the day of the sending (output) so you'd have to wait 20 days from then, not 20 days from when they were first received.

Well I have no idea what you just said.  Cool But to answer your question I will post the transactions leading up to the send:

3/2/2014 19:04 Received    1266.562614
3/3/2014 00:12 Received       55.540523    (Gotta love them faucets!)
3/3/2014 06:42 Received    1262.643457

3/3/2014 14:25 Sent          2500.10

Those times aren't in order or you've got the dates wrong infact, must be both, can you check and put in chronological order and I'll try to piece together what would have happened.

Or gimme the the receive address and I'll look on the explorer, will be able to give definite answers then.

EDIT. Nvm, it's theone in your sig. Gimme a few.

Ok, so the 1250 you sent took the 1266.562614 & 1262.643457 and rolled them into the 2500 output leaving 29.106071 as change as can be seen here
BTW, it looks like you've just minted the 1067.62727 @ 2014-03-23 14:18:01 see your address

They're just flipped is all. The first transaction I listed is the first I received... wait... Hold on something just happened....

To anyone who had Zeit in Coin.ex, if you can find your wallet code via transactions and search for it in the blockchain, it appears as though Coin.ex still has your Zeit. Just helped a friend discover his 3.8 million are still where they should be. Now he just needs Coin.ex to turn the site back on and he can pull them out.

Just have a look at your address and the transactions. The data's there just need to learn how to read it.
There's still a fair bit left to learn for me in there, but just following some transactions and seeing where things go, you'll pick it up quickly enough.

Give this video a watch, really helped me figure things out quite well and seeing transactions as 'inputs' and 'outputs'. It's just a ledger.
Amounts in (brackets) are outputs [sending coins].

Nope, sorry dude. I've not had that happen to me and therefore not looked into it. You'll have to do some research on that one yourself.
I'm heading out in a minute anyway, got a software upgrade to put on the mining rig so we can mine Scrypt-N finally, get the webstats working properly and put a card that appeared to have died back in (it still works, just won't overclock like the others anymore, hence appeared to be bust until tested).

Have fun all and I'll catch you later when I'll hopefully have enough 'oomph' to type up my idea and be able to deal with the smack down it'll receive for being too grand, too expensive, stupid etc...
