From my own perspective Altcoins will always survive in the trials and temptation from Bitcoin. Altcoins will become the lords of the crypto community in fews years to come and when that happen then, there will be a new beginning for crypto community and the impart of Altcoins will be felt on every side.

Well, maybe some but not totally all altcoins since there are many who are doing great so far and are having potential of great earning like bitcoin. As an investor or holder of altcoin,we should eliminate negative thoughts like this yet still be cautious as to legitimacy of such coin we have invested.

Yes, this is by no means an alarmist. Many altcoins are now a tool for scamer. They only need to publish a white paper, and then they can make money by selling altcoins through ICO, and most altcoins are worthless in the market.

Even though most altcoins stop at making a product and getting listed on Exchanges. The main thing has to be mass adoption by people or businesses, and that has been the missing factor.

I absolutely agree with most people who say that altcoins who do not do anything very soon will just die, these are the laws of evolution and competition, this action is quite adequate and this will lead the market to new heights.

Many community members have been claiming lately that altcoins are going to die or at least that 90% of altcoins are doomed. I tend to agree with them that there are many coins and tokens that are pointless and won't survive. Another cathegory are alts with solid foundations but won't manage to fight with their competitors as naturally there are numerous projects with same visions. But if you trust the project you invested in, there is no reason to change your mind just because someone says many altcoins won't succeed. Do your research and trust only your own judgement, because many ALTCOINS ARE HERE TO STAY!

However, altcoins will survive, but not all. Only useful and powerful altcoins will survive, some of them will die by themselves because of their uselessness. As you said, conducting your own checks is very necessary to determine altcoins that have use values.

I think that Altcoin will survive and thrive, but there is some truth in your words, because many Altcoin are scammers. But even if Altcoin dies, it will be gradual.

of course that is true even though the market is not bloody as it is today. only a little can grow maximally like planning and white paper. therefore, any investment in ico or altcoin is needed research, analysis and knowledge.
nothing is easy especially in the rate of decline that has occurred in recent months. it seems the market will go down further for the next month, but I think after the storm has passed, bitcoin or crypto cannot be stopped in rapid growth.

Bitcoin , arguably the world's most popular cryptocurrency, has endured a rough 2018 so far. After enjoying a banner year in 2017, prices are down about 20% so far this year. At around $11,500, the price of one Bitcoin is more than 40% below its record high of around $20,000 touched in mid-December, wiping approximately $140 billion off its market cap.

Not really. If altcoin cannot survive in this market, they would not survived until now. You cannot make conclusion just by see the price in the market.
The volume in of altcoins in the market is still high. So, many peoples still use altcoin either for trading or holding or pay something.

Like you said, it is highly important to do due diligence and find out what would make a coin or token to keep having some good support in the long run based on its usage perception in the community. As the market keeps getting matured, a lot of things will change and you do not want to end up being a bagholder of dead shitcoins.

With this market everything is possible. Perhaps many altcoins depreciate, but I think the top altcoyins will survive. Such as ada, xlm eth and many other top coins.

The Altcoins will survive, but only the chosen ones. Prices of the rest will tend to zero, they will be removed from the good exchanges.

I think this is altogether valid, most if not all altcoins are useless and truly can't do anything or tackle a specific issue. Just a couple of coins have a genuine answer for a genuine issue and furthermore the greater part of alternate coins have practically zero utilize cases. Likewise, lack of common sense and execution in addition to poor administration of the task will influence the venture to flop even with all the publicity out there for it.

We need to be afraid of big hacker attacks, we can lose large amounts, which is not good. They infuriate me these hackers, let them earn honestly. The most important thing you need to wait for you to want to return the interest back, believe that you will succeed and it will necessarily happen.  Wink

Do not trust in what they say about altcoins, simply because they do not have enough knowledge and proper basis to tell you this, it is only their speculation about altcoins. For me, altcoins will survive until their is someone who is patronizing it.

Altcoin are not going to just disappear.  That's absurd.  The scam/junk coins will be leaving us for sure.  But the going coins will rise to the top with Bitcoin and Ethereum.  We just need time for the free market to work.
