I'm looking at the marketing possibilities today, and this design is a spin on the current topics.
What's the easiest way to defeat an opponent much stronger than oneself? Use that strength against them-

Honestly I just think if the Developer did something like spruced up a new nice logo and did the supply cut from 50 Billion to 50 Million and maybe added a POS of like say 10% p.a or something right there would get people noticing this coin and trading it again for sure Cheers

Last year during startup I spoke with Spartan.com, since they called me wanting to know my intentions with the coin. And since the helmet resembled theirs. I informed them of the purpose of the coin, the plans with the spartan glory website and crowdfunding. They seemed very supportive but it hasnt gone any further than that. It could be very good to work with them or it could put us in a limited spot. hard telling.

As for a suggestion. I reconnected with an old android coder from way back and he has made a wallet with POS for android and iphone. I am looking at changing SPN to a POS coin and the question is.... if there is an issue converting the coin to POS would everyone be willing to work with a SPN v2 which will be POS and exchange SPN v1 for SPN v2 to keep this project rolling?

the risk of POS is not having enough miners so
1.  you need to be gaining users and hit a level of support stability if you go POS (say 500 nodes/24hr ave.)
2.  POW is more stable until then and the cryptopia listing allows for a sound POW coin

i would suggest looking at POS ... get the algo specs right ... get the right coders and right base code ... in particular look at smartphone staking

but stay POW until this coin gains more attention and participation

 i did some quick/rough arithmetic, looks like PoW ends in about a year? so yeah, it is time to consider PoS.
for your further consideration: please have a look at VNL, it is based (somewhat) on peercoin, has a unique code and reward structure, + very active dev. vanillacoin would be the choice imho to fork from because the dev has particularly addressed the problems present in BTC and fixed them! (instantly respendable transactions, can scale to over 100 TXes/second etc...) and the android wallet can run on a cellphone, unplugged, staking, for DAYS    
also see coin++ and dark++/VNL projects
 also consider the negative attention the coin is currently withstanding and you will see it's importance
