i feel sad about the spn market,i think when mintpal add spn ''there will be dump''

This is why SPN shouldn't have been paired up with LTC in a prominent way.  It's taken away some of the hope that existed before.  However, such a dump can still be avoided if interest in the coin is revived before it's listed on Mintpal.  We've still got time.

SpartanCoin, I have a question for you.  Have you put some thought into how to protect this coin if/when it starts to be noticed?  With Scrypt ASICs coming out and a network hashrate that's generally only a few tens of MHashes, a single person with a modest ASIC miner could easily take control of the network.

Theres not one coin thats been released in alt currency history that hasnt had a dump on hitting mintpal...

It's how it recovers that counts. Ie the tools, promotion and general use of the coin Wink

I really wouldn't worry

i hope if spn will make it to mintpal it keeps at least the minimum buy order...1 satoshi
to do that 1st half to 1/3 the block reward and keep the pools full with miners...

If/when SPN makes it to mintpal, does anyone know if we/SpartanCoin will have a choice about what it's paired with?  Or do they decide whether they want to make it a BTC or LTC market?

After that it depends on how the SPN-market will do!

Someone bought another 33.8M SPN off c-cex.  It's nice to see that kind of volume after how low it's been the last couple weeks.

Is that you who bought 33.8M? I think there's  no hope for SPN huge amount of sell orders @1 sat with no buy support is not good. It's time to move on to another coin.

Sorry, no.  If it had been me, I'd have put a winky face after my statement.  Wink   I don't have a lot of BTC, and as much as I think SPN has a future, I can't put all my eggs in one basket.  I've been mining a lot more than buying.

The network hash rate has been quite high for the last day or so--in excess of 100 MHash/sec most of the times I've looked.  Is that just because of the 33M SPN that were bought the other day, or is it just one of those random times when a couple big hashers have joined the mix (I see one on chickenstrips)?

Anyone fancy a meme competition?

I'm thinking it will consist of 2 stages.

First stage will be the best meme picked gets a certain amount of Spartancoin from myself.

The second stage is the distribution of the Meme's all over the internet. Forums, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram absolutely anywhere we can expose Spartancoin.

Let me know your thoughts and what you think would be a good amount to win to incentivise this!

Hope everyone is well and stocking up on Spartancoin cheap while you still can!

Voting changes on mintpal come 1st September,

Important: Please be aware that we are phasing out the voting system. We have removed the option to make payment votes and will stop taking voting winners from 1st September onwards. The system will continue as normal until then.

Unless we can pull something out of the bag I don't think we'll get listed on Mintpal. Because after the 1st September they will probably add only the latest and greatest coins with good volume to make them money.

We need Spartancoin to grab some attention!!!

Yeah I read that too from Mintpal. It will be very difficult now for Spartan and most other coins to get onto Mintpal.
Whether it's a bad thing I'm not sure. Bittrex is a much more preferred exchange in my opinion. Mintpal tends to ruin many decent coins.
We will have to see but going back to getting on Mintpal, it's not likely in the time frame given.

Hold fellow Spartans.............!  Smiley

Actually, we have a good shot at getting on Mintpal as long as we stay consistent with voting.  There are 7 Mondays between now and September 1st (8 if you include the 1st), and the top coin is added every Monday, which means one of the coins above us will be removed each week.  We're in 6th place, and only 60 votes from 5th.  So as long as we can outvote all the coins below us, we'll make it.  It's probably also to our advantage that you can't buy votes anymore, so no one with a new coin will be able to edge us out by blowing 10 BTC.  So this is by no means a defeat--this is an opportunity.

Current status:
5: MEOW 14860
6: SPN 14803
7: GRC 13788

So we're up 1015 votes over our closest threat.

lets get voting then! and agree that newer coins can't pump money into the votes. So we may have a shot. Pisses me off having to make a jig saw every time though Smiley
