This is an absolutely required move.

Let me give you an insight into this:
 - Any-2-Any is generating somewhere between 60% to 80% of the system load
 - A2A is generating less than 3% of the total exchange volume
 - the system coding complexity is at least 4 times higher. This means that any systemchanges that we implement take 2 to 4 times longer to test and double check hence putting us in a major disadvantage to other exchanges
 - looking at the data we can see that the only active trades of this are bots, taking advantage of price changes much quicker than any human in those low volume markets,

Having considered all these variables we have concluded that it is not worthwhile to maintain the Any-2-Any trading.

That is disappointing. I do quite a bit among ppc, xpm, and ltc because XPM is the only coin I can mine (w/ CPU) effectively. I want to buy PPC and LTC  and take advatage of price fluctuations.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I use to run one of those bots about 8 months ago.  Back then, I could be profitable, but profitable moves were scarce.

I hate to see this feature go, but I understand.  That system did always look like a nightmare to manage.

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011:
"I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00.  Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/"  ...sigh.  If only I knew.

I'm sad to see it go but I totally understand the reasons and it sounds like it's the right decision.

We do understand that taking away features might be frustrating, but with removing these we can announce the following improvements:
 - dark orders: this will allow you to place order that do not show in the orderbook (but they do incurr increased trading fees and they require a large order volume)
 - push-data on orderbook, own placed orders and account balance. This unique experience allows you to track the market developments in updates as short as a few seconds.
 - auto trade upon deposit, sell your coins upon deposit, fully automated.
 - auto withdraw your account balances once they reach your defined threshold

And more to come.

+1  I hope you realize that pump and dump minors are going to be pointing their mining accounts to your system. If you have the infrastructure to manage such small and frequent transactions, great!

I've dreamed of this feature for a long time!

I'm disappointed to hear that you are dropping any-2-any trading. All my favourite trades were crazy currency pairs where the market was a mile wide.

Yeah, I'm going to be sad to see this go too. Your points are valid Kumala, but (purely for selfish reasons) it is a shame to see any-2-any come to an end.

Will cash deposits and withdrawals be possible again at some point?

Why does bitcoincharts.com list Vircurex as an "inactive" market?

Check you transaction on blockchain.info to see what size you transaction is.  If it's over a certain number of bytes (500), miners may take longer to include the transaction if no transaction fees is paid.

If you pay a transaction fee (0.0005 BTC) or about a dime right now, it's usually processed in next block.

Any-2-Any had given vircurex an edge over other exchanges.Other than btc, altleast some pairs with LTC and NMC should exist.

Damnit. Just when I'm in the middle of developing a trading system that keeps track of 5000+ pair combinations to look for profit ops. This sucks.

Are ALL pairs besides BTC/* going to be dropped? Not even keeping LTC/* or some popular alt/alt pairs?

Let's hope it was a fun education coding experience.  I'm sure your skills will translate elsewhere Smiley

Simulations run on data from a 2 week period...

1. With any to any trading, 56 trades, ~20% profit

2. With only BTC/xxx and xxx/BTC trading, 2 trades, one to USD then one back to BTC. That's it for the entire 2 weeks. May as well just toss a coin. Sad

I'm going to miss any to any trading!!!
