Is the block chain this big, or can someone give me some nodes? It doesn't tell me how many blocks are remaining either, just tells me 3 connections to network and the wallet is out of sync.

could be it just needs a restart.. close and re-open. Or maybe your pc time is behind x hours... so it see's time of pc and time of last block and calcuates that ur x hours behind when in fact you are not..... other then that dunno... mine connected and synced just fine

There's nothing. Just says out of sync. PC clock is on time, I've done everything. Restarted computer, added nodes, ran with an without conf file. Deleted peer.dat, nothing. At wits end, I really wanna support this coin but if my wallet doesn't work.... I get connections to network, it just never says how many blocks there are. I did go into debug, and I have something like 180000 blocks when it says estimated amount of blocks is 26k.... Am I on a fork?

I have 1.4.0.0 also. Didnt need any conf file or nodes... just clicked and synced..

at time of writing we are at 23607. Navigate to where you wallet.dat also is.
windows its : users/username/appdata/roaming/credits//
Then open debug with note pad. Go all the way don to the last entry's... then scroll up till you see something like this :

Quote

Flushing wallet.dat

It will show you what block your wallet has last received. If it is 23607 (or close cause blocks keep being found =)) then my guess is your wallet is pretty much synced up has something to do with time pc vs block time.

If it is really behind, then your best bet would be to : ( again in users/username/aoodata/roaming/credits//  ))
delete database folder, delete blockinde.dat, blk001.dat.... and restart /resync ...
or better yet... copy your wallet.dat file somewhere else.... delete everything in the folder.
get the newest wallet, open in, then replace the new wallet.dat with the one you saved somewhere else...  and restart the whole syncing process...

Can we get an actual estimate of the gambling site? A "couple days" doesn't stretch from Mar 4'th to Mar 22nd  Wink

Also, I think it would bring a lot of confidence to this coin if you'd actual release a dev roadmap, and weekly progress reports. The way coins die isn't in the market. It's in the community.

Devs, you know how the things work around here. Frequent status updates is one of the keys to survival early on. If you got nothing to report, do a status update anyway, people care more about active devs than the train actually moving somewhere.

Yep. Lots of large claims, but very little to support it yet.
Don't get me wrong, I love the concept and have donated a lot of what I've mined to the Devs. But I'd like to see at minimum a solid explanation of plans, and most importantly WHEN AND HOW they plan to achieve them.

I have reread the original launch document, as well as the updated front page and while ALL of my other requests (through PM and on the forum) have been effectively ignored, allow me to try again. This time in a more aggressively enumerated fashion.

This coin is about a month old. There are lots of positive signs. A growing market cap, active exchange for its age, great concept and a forward thinking objective. However....

1: Where is the poker room? In all product launches, there are hangups. I don't expect everything to go smoothly, but if this is to be an active, open community that fosters faith and development, I expect the developers to keep the community informed, even if information is to explain a delay. The "In a couple days" has been pitched since the beginning for the month. Is something wrong with the implementation? Since the first goal date was missed, what is the new goal date?

2: A lot of emphasis on your final objective is focused on usability in the end market (ie. ability to exchange for product.) How do you intend on getting there? That's a lofty goal, so I'm curious what your plan is. I sent money to the marketplace to buy a game called Blockland. It's still pending, so something is odd there.

3: You're asking for over $1000.00 from the community for an online wallet, an Android wallet, and a place on an exchange I've never heard of. I propose to you, that while those things are nifty features, how exactly do they help forward the goals of this coin? Is there really such a clambering for an Android wallet, that you believe that is the main thing your coin currently lacks? I believe there are significantly more important things that could be done with 1200 dollars. Getting on a well known exchange, actual marketing (buying advertisements,) Programing new USABLE features, such as additions to the online casino, which could actually have a small percentage take to help fund future projects. In fact expanding the poker room into an online Vegas style casino could reap a small fortune.

You should be focused on increased exposure, and implementing things that generate revenue. I assume you've done your research and aren't just piddling away money, can you explain why those things are taking precedence of the things I've mentioned?

4: As has been suggested multiple times, actual updates, perhaps daily (and not just friendly hellos) would go a long way in garnering faith in the coin. Even if there's nothing to report.

5: Again, an actual roadmap that list ALL current objectives, and how you plan to achieve them. That really should be the very first thing you do.

Again, I hate sounding negative. I really do think this is one of the more promising Altcoins and I very much want it to do well. But I'm growing very concerned with the vague non-answers. I've asked these questions in a numbered fashion, to avoid confusion I ask that you kindly answer them in the same.

This coin can definitely go places. Please work on fostering a community, because the community drives the coin. This time of increasing block reward is already drawing attention. Now is the time for a media blitzkrieg. Instead we appear to have a Sitzkreig.

I have a significant mining operation devoted to this coin. I've donated a lot of the coin I've mined. I'm not just some sideliner making silly demands. These are fair questions from an active patron in your business structure.

And if you are having genuine hangups or issues please don't stay silent about it.  A lot of folks here are very optimistic about the potential here and are willing to offer expertise.  Hell you could buy expertise with BTC if need be.

I agree with the post above, and also think this coin could have a bright future if the devs and the community work together.
That is why i donated your first btc donation Wink, to give you some incentive and so you know people believe in you.
This coin had the fairest lunch in have seen in my short time with altcoins, and all of us that believe in it's potential should help the devs out.
I really like the artwork and whole futuristic feel of credits, i think the market for it could be huge.

Totally agree on this point. Movement of credits and the ability to use them will create value. This is true for anything. Simple economics, supply and demand. Atm there is an abundance of supply, just no real demand since there is no place to use them (this is true for a lot of alt-coins ofc. But to avoid credits being dumped would be wise to at least give an Eta on the poker room.

3: You're asking for over $1000.00 from the community for an online wallet, an Android wallet, and a place on an exchange I've never heard of. $1000- $1200 honestly really isnt that much considering the work and time it must surely take to build all things. I do however agree that the android wallet shouldnt be the main priority atm. Exchanges are nice and all, but it just means that there are more places to sell the coin. Today's alt-coins are just all to eager to get on an exchange. Exchange does not mean value, it just means value can be determined. And if there is no backing of value by community, prices will drop.

I have a significant mining operation devoted to this coin. I've donated a lot of the coin I've mined. I'm not just some sideliner making silly demands. These are fair questions from an active patron in your business structure.
I only have a simple miner pointed at credits. But i agree that miners are in a way investors in a coin. THey have a voice and a right to be heard and take seriously as they are stakeholders in a coin. Loose the miners faith and you will create a dump. Keep the faith and your stakeholders happy and value will rise.

All in all marhaben made some excellent points. And i do hope you will take the time to answer all the best you can.
