put the wallet in password zip for download before launch.

looks like some effort went into design.

Yeah I thought about this possibility, still giving it some time to ferment. Probably just gonna release it all at once and let everyone explore the world immediately.

ok

That seriously is not a good answer. There is no reason not to put it all in a password rar and give password at launch.

By not doing so you are opening the coin to a lot of issues

1. 5 min instamine by dev and friends - people have to download, unpack, upload to virus total and await the scan, config file, sync .....this is not good.  Launch should be zipped with password rar and already a virus total output.

2.  The biggest issue is the ddos or just saturation of the download link. Yes i have seen even mega.co.nz brought to a crawl with these launches, and NEVER use mediafire that place is a cock up waiting to happen.  Don't dream of using your personal hosting unless you have 1gb link at the very least.

The links should be always given so people can hold the file locally to solve these issues. There is NO reason not to do it. I question any dev who does not wish to. What is a reasonable explanation for not doing it exactly?

With KGW our difficulty should start changing within 40 seconds. First come first serve is the fairest in my opinion. Big deal, you'll lose a couple minutes of mining over some other guy, potentially. Freshen up on the "FAIR" section, a miner starting even 2 weeks from now won't be at a terribly large disadvantage.

Thank you, see you soon.

The countdown on our site is goofed, it's timezone based. Anyway, the launch is in 2.5 hours

I'm updating the bottom of the OP post every 30 minutes

The same reason as with every launch. The dev's pool, or in this case 4 pools, will get a nice head start on the others. The only way to start mining the second it launches will be to use their pools. Their pool wallet will be compiled and ready for mining at launch time, while the other pools are scrambling to download and compile first, all of the mass hysteria that is typical during a launch will drive all of the traffic to the "official" pools within the first couple minutes.  The people with huge hashrates are just going to try to suck up as many coins as possible before diff skyrockets. They have to join the first pool to launch in order to do this and they don't care about spreading out the hash rate.  The people that dont have huge hashrates will go where the big hashers go, or else they will be left with scraps or nothing at all, and they too typically don't care about or understand the need to spread out hashrate.

I don't think this coin will do well.
The developers are just too incompetent.
I bet when a fork happens, they'll have no idea what's going on.

Friendly reminder that everyone posting positive comments in this thread are people who've worked on this coin or are friends of the developers.
Also everyone to offer any type of criticism will be demeaned. Very sad indeed.
