I also notice this and has a plan but Im still worrying because what if the market will change in a few days, of course that project you are waiting especially if its a good project will increase its value after being listed on exchange and you will regret that you miss the chance to invest on its ICO.

Investing on ICO's and newly listed coin for me has the same risk.

Both you have mentioned has there benefits and limitations.
Investing in any ico is very risky and so that reward is also very big if everything's goes well and good. Quality hard work is required before choosing any ico. Some times some ico do well but during listed in exchange due to market conditions it trade bellow ico price that time you feel that it's better to wait for the coin get listed and buy even lower price and risk involved is also became less.

It really depends on the ICO, some give you extra benefits if you pay in a certain currency. If you join the Mandana ICO and pay in LISK you get extra bonus amount because Mandana is going to be the first project on the LISk platform

Personally, my decision will be dependent on the market situation. For instance, in times like this if the project seems promising I would wait till it hits exchanges. It's constant most people will dump immediately and this will serve as an opportunity for other to grab at cheap prices.

I see and observe recently that many ICOs are below the ICO price when they touch the exchange. Do you think it's a smart step to wait for an exchange and buy the tokens you want?
Almost always the case. Every ICO in the IPO or hold, or fall immediately. It is safer when you buy after the release of tokens on the exchange. As the price falls. And you see the Scam project or not. If you invest during the ICO, you can lose money, since the project can be a Scam!

As a general rule, if the ICO offers a big bounty share, don't ever think about buying it in ICO. The token will be dumped by bounty hunters the moment it hits exchange. So if you somehow believe in the ICO (which is a rare case, I can't see any reason to buy an ICO token), wait for it to get to an exchange, then buy after the dumping session finished. You will get it with a huge discount.

Why not, do you know Lympo, I joined it and after being listed on the exchange, it has increased 5 times the ICO price over $ 10 and 10 times on ETH. Investors are still profitable when investing in ICO by ETH

Either you buy on ico
Or you buy after listing on exchanges it does not stop you from buying a fake project

What matters is the product
Hence do your own research
You have to be smart in Crypto or you will be scammed at any time.I always recommend my friends and family to learn and increase your knowledge before invest in crypto basic knowledge must be in first.

On ICO it is better, you can select good project and then you should wait for a while. the benefit will not come very fast. I would recommend to check ICOs at www.icoguide.com, very good platform.

For me it is better to buy after the coin got listed. Unlike the ICO,the risk is less if the coin was ready for trading. I will stay away from ICO's for now until the regulations for scam ICO's are not clear. Also, you will now the demand for the coin when it got listed and there are a lot of things you will discover once the coin was listed. If you are lucky and bounty hunters dumped their coin, you can buy a coin lower than the ICO price with bonus.

To be perfectly honest, I am not an investor, but nevertheless if I was investing on an ICO at this time, I would definitely buy only after it was traded on exchange.
All the ICOs I've seen this year (don't know the global data) have started trading fas below ICO price and stayed at that level
Not to mention that there is always the risk of scam that is partially eliminated if the coin is already traded
cheers

It depends on the project many ICO after listing coins on the exchange fall greatly in price. But there's another side. Many ICO companies during the purchase of coins, tokens offer good bonuses. There is up to everyone themselves.

Like you, I noticed it to ! Once the ICO/s are finished and they get listed on crypto exchange/s, most of them are below ICO price based in the initial listing, maybe the reason of it is the unsuccessful launching of the ICO projects. But for me it is still better to buy on ICOs than markets because the tokens in ICOs are usually discounted.

yes I think that's the right step for now.
because it is very rare for an ICO to be able to make a profit, so we should just wait in exchange, it's a safe step.

Many investors nowadays are just waiting for a specific coin to hit the exchanges so they can buy more cheaper coins. This is the strategies now of some investors because its very normal for a new coin to hit lower price on the exchanges, so better to buy on the exchanges.

Yes, 99% of time it is true. People who buy in the end of the token sale are the most unlucky and also uneducated on how ICOs work in general .
We all know that bounty hunters dump their tokens as soon as they hit exchange but these unlucky investors do not know that.

I think there are many possible benefits by buying on ICO. What is clear is: You help companies launch their products. There is also an opportunity to make profit selling ICO tokens after you buy them.
In many cases, crypto tokens released during ICO are sold at a fixed price in the amount of Bitcoins, eth or US dollars. The price is not supported by anything except the buyer's community trust in the development team to release this product successfully at some time in the future, so usually the token price is quite low on the ICO. After the project is developed and launched, the token value becomes secured with the product that is operating and real. And this phenomenon will lead to price increases and investors can sell their tokens for substantial profits.
However, keep in mind that not all benefits are guaranteed. If the ICO fails, all contributions will be returned to the sender. Even if it works, there is a possibility that the developer cannot send the final product and the token price will never rise. This is the risk that all ICO participants must take into account when they decide to contribute to any ICO.

I think that right now, in this part of the market cycle it's better to wait for them to be listed on exchanges than go for the ico

they usually trade below ico price

Smart thing, because if we buy on ICO, we must wait without any sign or can't analyze what will happen in market. But if already in exchanger, we can compare with ICO price, circulation, etc.
