Sorry didn't noticed they are not offering aby as payout option. Last time i was mining there the payout in aby was working...

Btw you can setup your own pool with coinium serv on your localhost, thats on what is hashgoal running.  Run your wallet setup pool and mine. I was mining aby like this when there was limit on their officiall pool.
The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

so this coin is for artists but you have probably the ugliest logo out of all. just sayin

everything is outdated and dev seems reluctant to have any updates, or even a roadmap. not even a block explorer! -_-

Yeah. Right now, everything seems too quiet for ABY in development, in which there are some important things needed to be settled out like the block explorer, but we will eventually get there once there is enough interest into ArtByte. That is why I am a faithful holder of ABY.  Smiley

I appreciate the support of you guys and for asking good questions. I know you are all cryto followers and knowledgable about digital currencies, but our focus from the beginning as been on building a real user community of artists and art lovers. We believe growing an engaged user community is the only thing that builds longterm value.

When you say that we are not continuing to develop the coin, you are looking in the wrong place. Things like a block explorer,  more pools, releasing source code, etc. have no meaning to artists or fans. We have much development going on in features that bring in and support our everyday users.

I am attaching a link to a presentation that I made regarding ArtByte and what makes it different from other crypto, as well as our longterm plan, competitive position, etc. Please take a look at it, and you will see more of what we are doing and where we are spending our budget.

I sugessted ABY coin to Hash-to-coins pool in past. They said they are interested to add ABY to their pool but can't without source also I'm sure comunity can donate to add the block explorer for this coin but again, no source...
If developer will be interested to release the source to git I will donate 0.2BTC to setup block explorer.

Is ABY source code not opened to public? That's not good.

The reason we have not released the source is to keep the big multi-pools from mining the coin. Again our focus is on our user community. We want the artists to be able to mine the coin from their CPU. The big mining pools would completely drive them out of mining.

So our solution was to create one pool and pay a bonus to the miners using small hash power, like a CPU and we built the pool mining into the wallet. So a person can mine with anything (even an Android phone) and receive 50 - 100 ABY a day. If you are an artist, the ArtByte foundation allows you to redeem your ABY and a much better exchange rate than you can on Poloniex. You can see that here: Places to spend ArtBytes

Below is a post from Sept 2014, where I explained how it works.

Quote from: First.Bitcoins on September 11, 2014, 04:11:12 PM
AppleByte has a special bonus in our pool that can double the ABY paid to our CPU miners, using the AppleByte wallet's built-in pool miner

It will also increase payouts to GPU miners.

AppleByte (ABY) is traded on Poloniex.com

Newbie friendly instructions to set up the pool miner are:Mining Get Started

Here are the technical details, if you are interested:

We now pay a bonus to every account in the pool. The bonus is the same regardless of the hash power you use to mine. We pay the bonus on every block mined by the pool.

So for example:

Miners using the wallet on a typical laptop get 10 - 15 khs, and can mine about 100 ABY per day
The largest miners on the pool get 10mhs, and can mine about 15,000 ABY per day.

Our bonus is the same for each size of account, so for example if the bonus is 0.2 ABY per block (and the pool mines 500 blocks per day, each account gets a bonus of 100 ABY per day.
For our miners using the wallet to mine, that can double the number of ABY to 200 per day.

The bonus is paid by the AppleByte Foundation, and is not taken from anyone's share.
These estimates are approximate & can change based on the number of miners.

Happy Mining!

@First.Bitcoins,

I fully understand what you wanted to achieve by not releasing the source code. Please don't take it as offence just my opinion. It was year 2014 and now it's 2016. The asics for scrypt are really everywhere for bargain and its not cost effective to mine with CPU @scrypt coins. If you wan't to help CPU/GPU miners try to migrate your coin to some ASIC resistant algo(or make it POW/POS hybrid). It's not hard to setup the pool even if source is not released. Just look at your official pool what difficulty it is right now(107 and mining at 15khs 2 ABY/DAY). Also you can clearly see there is some other pool or private miner, which is dumping the coins at exchanges everyday. I don't think if you release source it will anything change or affect mining. But I'm sure block explorer will not hurt the coin. If you wan't to stay at scrypt algo I think bigger difficulty is better for coin because low diff is good only for private miner which is dumping at market.

Best Regards,
Nyo

Would be great to allow other pools to use the coin source. I get what you are trying to do but whos to also say that you aren't mining on the back end and continuously dumping the coins. Also the source has to be around if it's running and being traded on a major exchange.

Well, the src must be out there or selective who it goes to. Hashgoal has it listed as a coin they mine...

ArtByte Presentation

The presentation looks good and provides all the major details for ArtByte. However, still it would be nice to have a block explorer just so I could check my balance from my ABY address wherever I'm at. Looking forward for ABY to shine among the rest of the alt coins. In the meantime, I will continue to buy more cheap ABY.  Grin
