Yes, I completely agree with you. Investing into ICO is very risky at the moment. Holding 3 ETH will be the right choice. Its price is quite low now so it has potential to give us 3 times profit even can be more.

Seriously it is hard to find an ICO that will give 3X these days, the market condition is bad and such ICO hardly perform so well on exchanges, I think it is better you hold on to your eth and wait for the market to recover.

I suggest you to look at promised non-ICO projects, those are funded by developers themselves.
For example, STR token: you may get at least 100% per year because of minting only, even if the current price will not grow within next 12 months.
Other example, HLS token: they are developing a new smart contract platform, like ETH, but much more scalable. May be it will not replace ETH completely, but for sure will get it's own piece of pie in crypto world.  The testnet launch is very soon, in the end of this month.
 But consider this as a suggest only, do your own investigations before invest.

at the moment it is very difficult to find ICO that is running successfully. if you invest in the ICO, you have to be more careful because at the moment there are many ICO projects that are scam. if you have doubts then it's better to invest in valuable altcoins, you can see valuable altcoins in the crypto market such as idex.market, https://coinmarketcap.com, forkdelta, etherdelta, Hitbtc and others.

The most clever advice is to save your 3 Eth and not to convert them into other alts! You will lose your time on learning the market and money on commission but eth will rise as much as other alts! eth is a good investment according to the ratio "potential to growth - risk"

ICO developers offer different bonuses. There are 35%, 40% and so on. This depends on the rules set. If the ICO price reaches the target, then you already get 35% of the total investment. If the market price is higher than the ICO price, of course you will get 100%, even more.
