Can't shake the feeling that this article is indeed a set-up / bait to see what happens or to stir up commotion. Newsweek is relaunching, so this would be a perfect stunt to draw attention to a failing magazine...
You don't relaunch a news magazine with a fake story. They believe this is real. It probably is.

This isn't the story. This is the pre-story. The real story will come in the next few days and will be called "Why Satoshi Nakamoto Remains Anonymous".

hackers stealing bitcoins uncover their own lack of integrity I doubt it's him. He allegedly said: "I have nothing to do with Bitcoin any more". If he'd really be Satoshi he'd probably deny it. There is of course a chance that she just invented that section. heh hope it is not him is right news at the end of this week (fake as of now) The man know as the inventor of bitcoin has gone NUCLEAR and thru his encription wizardry has flushed it all..now he says you can leave me alone again ..their is no more bitcoin here is the way to make your own bitcoin ....anyone can now...FU all! (unlikely but would make a pretty good statement on the world huh? ie go ahead mess with him some see what happens) the above is in jest...(er gulp i hope) Searing

Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

Man, I'm kinda disappointed to be perfectly honest.
I was still clinging to the idea, that Satoshi Nakamoto was a pseudonym like Anonymous or any crew of hackers.
I don't agree with putting his family, house, and personal picture on blast for the whole world to see.
I guess anything for page hits and views.
That said, if the article is kinda true, he(Satoshi) seemed like a real dickhead. Hording all those coins and not even helping his family or kids out. His own brother calls him "Asshole", but that's only if this article is true.
Oh well, Bitcoin is out of Dorian S. Nakamoto's hands now and in the core developers. He planted the seeds, it's up to them and us to grow it!

Well, if it is really him at least it'll get him out of his shell. I predict a 6 month Vegas residency will be signed and sealed before the end of the month.

This sucks, honestly. I was hoping it would never come to light... Unless this whole article isn't 100% factual, as others have pointed out.

The article presents only circumstantial evidence. Even if it is 100% factual, it doesn't prove or disprove anything. The journalist found someone with the same name and a profile that would fit with what one might expect of the creator of bitcoin. Could the theory be true? Yes. Could it be false? Yes. Even the quote attributed to Nakamoto says nothing about bitcoin:"I am no longer involved in that and I cannot discuss it," he says, dismissing all further queries with a swat of his left hand. "It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection."

Someone should setup a bitcoin address for this guy and his family people can donate too. If he isn't the real creator, then he could probably use the money.
On the other hand, if he is the real Satoshi then he'll have some money he can spend without admitting that he is the actually the guy.

Whether or not it was factual or not, both "Satoshi" and the journalist are not in good positions right now.

If he wanted to be anonymous he wouldn't use he's real name, and if he didn't want to be anonymous we would have known by now.
Chances are this is just garbage journalism or another attempt to snatch the copyright and patent

Bitcoin drops 40 dollars at the news of finding the long lost father of Bitcoin. I always said, when I learn that Satoshi Nakamoto is Satoshi Nakamoto, I'd no longer have a good reason to own bitcoins anymore. Right? I mean, if we know who created bitcoin, what reason is there to own them? It just doesn't make sense anymore.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.
