Could someone be so kind as to clarify what exactly "per chip frequency calibration for Antminer S9" means? How does this work? Having trouble finding resources to learn more about this. Thank you.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Just had a temp sensor jump to 176C , pretty sure it is an error. Shuts down cgminer.
Guess I'll go with fixed speed on that one.

Code:
Fri Jun 28 22:56:37 2019 daemon.err cgminer[1373]:  [2019-06-28 22:56:37.619] chain 5: no sensors found!
Fri Jun 28 22:56:37 2019 daemon.err cgminer[1373]:  [2019-06-28 22:56:37.620] chain 5: running i2c scan, this may take up to 30 minutes per chain
Fri Jun 28 22:56:37 2019 daemon.err cgminer[1373]:  [2019-06-28 22:56:37.620] (if you don't want to do this, use --no-sensor-scan parameter)

can anyone help me where to do this (--no-sensor-scan)? im really noob.

end of /etc/cgminer.conf

Code:
,"api-listen":true,"multi-version":"4","fan-dangerous-temp":"109"}

Make it look like this

Code:
,"api-listen":true,"multi-version":"4","fan-dangerous-temp":"109","no-sensor-scan":true}

Using vi /etc/cgminer.conf is one big line.

thanks for your reply, I will try to connect device directly to pc and I’ll inform you about result

[...]

and yes I did it using sd card and permanently install bOS to NAND (both from web interface and ssh) and both of them completely successful in logs message! but when I changed the jumper to nand the device can not give IP address. totally it seems couldn’t boot from nand.

Did you manage to fix the problem?

I know if I boot from SD card and then try to change DHCP to STATIC and set an IP address it does not take if I reboot into the SD card again. I had to boot into SD, find the DHCP IP, login and flash SD to NAND using GUI, then boot into NAND, THEN set static IP.

I have seen that one before. Did you not get funny hashrates in one of the chains too?

Yes, funny hashrate.

Due to the faulty sensors its going to turn off (restart) constantly, unless you use a ridiculous dangerous temp or override the sensors. Of course you won't be able to monitor temperatures anymore if you do that, should the fans ever fail it will melt, probably... But i think you can leave the sensors alone and just use a ridiculous dangerous temp, so at least you can monitor the thing, more or less (ignoring the occasional 160°c spike) etc, giving you a chance to act manually, especially if you have a monitoring app.

Update I did this firmware to regain stability.

Antminer-T9+-xilinx-201905311102-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF-sig.tar
wasnt stable at first so I put it in -2TH/S mode
As of now im holding at 9 TH/S stable @ -2THS
Anyone know what wattage this setting pulls? if its 900 or less should i deploy it full time?
I have the xilinx controller.

I don't see why not, but since you went with the official Bitmain firmware, you are offtopic in this thread Smiley

I'm not sure you should lecture about being off topic after you posted in my Bitmain firmware thread Smiley

Its not about lecturing, but his own convenience. I think a T9+ thread would fit his needs better at this point. If you link to your thread, i can check my post and tell you the reason i posted there. But if i'm to guess, its probably a solution to a problem.

Hmm from the looks of it you started talking about 3rd party firmwares and bos was mentioned, so there i expressed my view about it, and so did the others.

Are referring to bos in that thread. Yet what you bring is my opinion to Kano's comment... Where is the hypocrisy?

I fail to see the problem or specific support request you are answering, but I do not feel like extending this disagreement. Just pointing out some hypocrisy. I am glad you're an advocate, but just be consistent in your application of opinions.

My point was I got it stable and just thinking out loud on this machine and i want to try Braiins

So with that being said its finally stable would brains be better off on this firmware ive gotten stable.
from what Ive gathered it acts different dependent on its predecessors firmware.
*I also wanted to weigh in on efficiency differences in BMFW vs Braiins since brains inst officially on T9+

Cannot get braiins to work on t9+. It will boot into OS but will not detect hashboards.
I do like the fact that braiins will bring some boards back from the dead that were toast on original firmware.

Indeed when i last tried it failed to work with the T9+. If you try install it directly to nand storage, you would need to use the recovery method using the sd card for the T9+ as explained by Bitmain support (which is the same method some people use to revert S9s back to older Bitmain firmware).

But your test would be nice to do against S9s. With BraiinsOS you have to find the most efficient settings manually, and it takes some time and lots of cgminer tries. I think philipma1957 did something interesting at 475Mhz 7.9v if i recall correctly, but each hashboard behaves different, with the boards from the S9j 14.5T performing best i think.
