BEAM Meetup
London 9th March 2019

"The Year Ahead"

It is with great pleasure that we introduce the second London BEAM Meetup.
We invite everyone with interest in cryptocurrency and satoshi's vision for
privacy in personal finance. For crypto-veterans and new-community members alike.

Discuss the hottest topic in crypto today - privacy and the mimblewimble protocol.

With Beam launching it’s mainnet on January 3rd 2019, it is a great chance to meet others
interested in Beam's privacy protocol and learn what we have in the works for the rest of
the year. We will talk about Beam wallets, mining, the Roadmap, and have a QNA session
direct with our team in HQ.

The event is located at The Vault, just a five minute walk from Temple station in central London.

The Vault, South East Wing, Bush House
300 Strand
Strand
WC2R 1AE

Hosted by Beam Community Manager Angus

Schedule

Intro/networking: 14:30 - 14:40
Beam in 2019: 14:40 -15:00
Wallet / mining information: 15:20 - 15:30

We are keen to encourage up to 150 attendees, and should we reach 50 attendees confirmed via the above meetup link,
we will provide a free drink upon arrival - either a glass of fizz or a glass of orange juice. So come along for a relaxed
discussion on the future one of the world's most technologically advanced privacy cryptocurrency - BEAM and the
Mimblewimble Protocol.

I have also been buying and mining since launch and I am happy with prices today...
So HODL, year 1 emissions are designed to assist accumulation and adoption.
I'm not overly concerned and will keep mining and buying Beam.

Android TESTNET mobile wallet v 1.0.9 community test results:

from:
https://discordapp.com/channels/481833926697156611/545682507304009730/550709332724154378

Recent testing of v 1.0.9 android testnet Beam wallet results as follows:

From the outset, this release felt exceptionally more rigid, from loading up to transacting Beams between our testers, everything went fine. In testing receiving Beams whilst phone is locked, it was found that background refresh works only for limited time, presumable due to the wallet logging out inactive after a while - which is more than acceptable at this stage of development.

The scrutiny was made with locked device and found that 2 out of 3 tx's were completed whilst device was locked and wallet running on background refresh only.

You can see the completed tx's and failed tx on this screenshot from senders wallet (thanks to @DanGB ), where even though wallet was left running in the background, only the first two (earlier) txs were completed.

receiving wallet did not interact with the tx until receiver device was unlocked, much later on:

of course, the two wallets on each device are in different time-zones.

I can't even read what you're saying.... please use width or height in your img tags! (like [ img width=300 ] )
There, I've fixed the quote for you.

Other than that, that's very nice and stylish UI!

It's better if you did not pyramid quote.
Next time, I think you should apply my guide here., Tips for newbies, who want to avoid over-quoting
I believed you known it, but a little bit lazy to delete unnecessary stuffs to avoid pyramid quote.
In fact, your thread is not pyramid quote, but un-necessary part should be deleted, and you should only focus on what you wanted to mention, images and width option.
I took only one image as an example.

100 coins per minutes but 20% are locked in treasury
so they are effective 115200 coins mined per day and available on the market.

yes, year one are a lot of coins mined - to assist with accumulation, distribution and adoption. First halving takes place after only 1 year.. then every 4 years after.

oh... this is really a very big emission and fast inflation. I saw around 5 mln coins in circulating in a week or so and today is 7.4 mln. With max suply in 262 mln marketcap with todays price should be around 200 mln (which is impossible, in this market at last).

wait wait wait....

Take the emission for the 3 next years: (without treasury): 42 mio + 21 mio + 21 mio = 84 mio in Q4 2021.

Monero Marketcap = 800 mio
ZEC Marketcap = 315 mio

1) If the project is a success (and I m sure of that) It's not crazy to think that BEAM will reach a Marketcap like ZEC in the 3 next years. Under today market conditions.

2) But if you expect that the Market will better perform until 2021 (and it's what I expect and why I'm in) you can easly predict a Marketcap 3 time higher in 3 year.

Summary: in 2021 we will see the BEAM price like

1) 3,75$ pro BEAM  (315 / 84)
2) 11,25 $ pro BEAM (945 / 84)

We are happy to reveal that Japanese public group, Recruit Co. LTD has invested in Beam prior Mainnet. This investment helps Beam fulfill its mission in Japan too when it comes to deploying a compliant, scalable, and confidential cryptocurrency.  https://bit.ly/2T1GGWw

Thank you
How to understand this « good » news?
They were already present as VC but didn’t want to be publicly exposed  at the start of the project. Right?

it's a fairly highly developed country. I believe, that it can play a very important role in the development of this project. the team should keep in touch with representatives of this country. I believe in such cooperation. I think, that we have a good and successful result.

Are you saying that Japan is a "fairly highly developed country"? Cheesy It is one of the most developed countries on the planet and they are very advanced in technology.
