Do you always invest in top ranked coins?

Hi Everyone,

As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.

Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

whether work or not it depends on your strategy to secure and make a profit from your investment, cryptocurrency is very vulnerable, just only because the coin in the top rank has a large community and volume so price fluctuations are very different compared to coin-coins which are ranked lower, but because cryptocurrency is volatile, any possibility can occur.

Now it’s not at all relevant to invest in top coins of the market because their popularity has already passed and, accordingly, a new coins will be released and will grow

For security reasons it is always safe to invest on any of the top cryptos but for the risk takers they also pick on the non top cryptos because they said that thus top cryptos once is at the bottom of the list and they are right.

yes because I think this can minimize the risk of loss. because if the coin is listed in the top ten coins it has already been proven that this coin already has a large trading volume and has long survived. if we choose to invest coins that are lower have a greater risk of loss. because maybe the coin can't last long. lower coins or new coins mostly crash then become zero. so it's better to choose coins that have a large market.

Many times I prefer to convert my rewards into ranking coins, because I don't want my efforts to be wasted, you can say that I am a timid investor!

Nothing wrong with that. The gains may be slow but they will still be gains in the end.

It is a smart investment and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Investments need to be careful and I do the same sell all of the tokens from the bounty to buy the top altcoin and hold. always the same, safe and have profitable

not like that if you want to invest in crypto, it's not a matter of top ranking because the top ranked ones also have the same risk as the under ranking.
it's a good idea to understand and research before investing

As for me i will always tried to invest on already known cryptocurrency that already has a big market.
I'm just try to play safe on my investment, i can't afford to loose my investment.

Of course not, because if you constantly invest in such projects you simply don’t have time to invest more, because there are so many projects that look very good today, but I still think that it is better to invest in many projects.

for minimum risk i think investing in top ranked coins are good choice, but it is also need extra time and patience, i rather invest in short term like ICO and after ICO ( Dump ) coin/ token, i just need to figure out which coin/token are legit.

I think you don't have to keep investing on the top100 or what ever it is, just make an investment on any coins that is good and will have a good future.
cause the top100 not fully able to be used as a candidat of a good coin

Yes, especially for the cheap coins price because I feel that the cheap coins price will increase higher in the future and this makes me wants to buy more and more amount. I still buy the cheap coins price that is on the top-ranked coins even if the price is down like today and I am sure that there will be a time for that coins to jump to the higher price.

No not really, you can invest in those coins that is just in the beginning of its career. But the most effective way is to invest in the projects who's coin will surely increase its market value in the future. Bitcoin and ETH is so much crowded I say, maybe you can find some promising coins out there.

I aways like to invest top ranked altcoin because its very promising and you can surely survive your profits even for a long term hold.

I prefer to buy top ranked coins for long-term investments. And all the rest for resale.

A lot top ranked coins are good for long term and I also prefer many of them.

But I'm looking for  those gems that are hidden at the lowest ranks, those low key coins can also be considered as long the project is real and legitimate.

On the contrary I try to buy unknown coins as the chance to get big profit is very good. Coins of the top 20 is unlikely to be able to give you at least 100% profit for the year , but just the unknown of coins and can grow a thousand percent in one day. The main time to buy.

It is a strategy for those that are not capable of doing a real investment analysis. If you are unknowledgeable and just want some general market exposure then investing in the top coins by market cap or even better a fund that tracks the top coins may be the best strategy. If however you have some skills and are able to determine what will separate the winners from the losers then investing in the smaller cap coins that are highly undervalued can offer significantly better returns.

I understand what you are suggesting but as a fresher in the market, the volatility is quite unnerving. Maybe with time I would be more confident and understand to analyze better but to at least start the investments, you think its always safe to invest in top ranked?

It's really hard to find good coin for investment, actually I do not recommed you invest now, just look at this bloodbath at the market. You should wait till this madness ends and invest afterall, choose one from top 15.
