Do you always invest in top ranked coins?

When you consider the altcoin on the top ranked, consider also the time it had been there, the longer the safer. most on the top rank are there base on marketcap not how healthy the trade is, so lower marketcap altcoin can equally be consider but some other factors like exchanges, product, team etc. should be looked into to manage the risk

I of course choose only the top coins due to the fact that they have a more reliable product backed by and already more reliable team , and in this market the top coins will survive than less liquid

I also prefer to invest in coins in the top position. In my opinion, the top coins are more potential to bring success than coins that are in the bottom position. Indeed if the situation sways then all coins will also sway, if the top coin has decreased in price then of course this price decline is also followed by coins in the position below. Although at least not necessarily successful but the percentage of success of the top coin is higher than the success percentage of the bottom coin. As advised I am trying to learn the basics of crypto first.
Most of the suggestions mention investing in top ranked coins. My question is, does it always work? As far as I understand, the market is vulnerable and affects almost all the coins from top to bottom. How then you determine which ones would stay ?

A part of my portfolio I keep in BTC/ETH, but most of my another part of altcoins not from the top. I think non-top alts are more profitable, but at the same time more risky.

not like that but it very goof to invest in top coins but the capital must be big then only we can invest in top cryptos, hunt for new coins study well and invest that is also gives you good profit.

Nobody explains??? If an investor cannot explain why he/she chose some coin or any other asset to buy, then this person is just an ignoramus. That's why there're so many people here who cry about lost money, that they invested in some random coins without any reasons to buy them.

Not always, depending on market conditions. I am not a true holder, I do day trading more often when there are appropriate timings. I tend to hold coins or tokens that I get from bounties and airdrops, I wait until the price is good.
