Looking at how VIBE jumped in recent days with just an announcement of a VR game, I have high hopes for Cosmos CR.

if the headsets get adopted widely then you can expect a large value expansion for this and other VR projects.

When ever they can figure out how to remove the motion sickness while moving around in 3d space, i think it will open more games to transform in vr and more markets.

Yeah, that's another problem that is associated with virtual reality. But is it already known what exaclty it is that causes motion sickness? I have no VR glasses so I haven't experienced it. I always thought it was only a problem in the beginning of VR?

Yes it is known what causes the sickness, but it's not clear why people react different on this.

When you move in the VR, the brain visually perceives a movement, but not the inner ear, which is responsible for registering bodily movements.
One theory is, that the brain thinks we are poisoned and we are hallucinating and that's why we get sick and we have to vomit in the worst case.

Okay, I see. I am not really an expert in medicine so can you tell me if there is already a 'therapy'  on how you can treat this motion sickness? Or is it indeed really just training or, better, getting used to using/playing with virtual reality glasses?

It could be there are some kind of exercise you can do to build some tolerance i reckon. I reckon we are not yet at a point where somebody must be able to use one of these devices no matter the problems it is causing.

I don't think there is motion sickness anymore. As far as i know with the latest devices there is not an issue about that.

I have motion sickness. It wasn't there when I used to play CS. Don't know since when this thing developed inside me but, now I can't even play games on a PC or read in a moving car or use cellphone.
I never used VR for anything serious except to watch a few videos and I would love if VR content creator address our needs and work on some kind of solution.

This is inevitable i think, i read this years ago and i hardly believe there can be any solution. This happens also for other things and you basically have to live with it.

Is this really still a thing? Even with those new devices? It's hard to believe! Now I know why VR isn't that popular right now (also the fact that there's not much content around and good devices cost a lot)

Yeah, that's why fallout has that teleport moving in vr version instead of normal moving. People would just get sick and vomit all over... That doesn't sell games.

This whole problem could delay mainstream adoption of vr devices. hopefully some smart engineers will find a way to overcome it.

I dont think that would be a big problem. Based on the same physical context there are exist sea sickness,
nausea in cars or buses and yet people drive fast cars, use the bus or do cruises.
So this is not the hindrance, in my opinion.
There are simply to less good uses cases atm and the devices could be a little bit cheaper, thats all.

As far as I know, there are a few apps and devices that tend to make motion sickness feel a bit less. They can implement some solution like that.

That doesnt seem to stop people from using VR sets, in fact their popularity is growing. But then again staring at a computer screen is not good for your eyes also and we are using computers every day.

there are some predisposed people who have trouble with the use of vr or intermittent flash lights but i think the team is already working to find a reasonable solution to this possible problem...

not sure if this team can if it's all about the headsets, but if it's about flashing lights then maybe content can be adjusted.

And why there is such an effect? I've never had that before. I don't like rolling on the waves, though. But here there is no physical rocking of the vestibular apparatus. Means perhaps this effect has what something psychological the beginning of.

I think that is a problem about hardware not software so i don't think there is anything CosmosCR can do about that.

Exactly, I think it's only a matter of time until everything is in perfect order, without side effects, after all is something in evolution, and with many fans and developers, no problem will last forever without being solved

In the long run I also expect this to be solved but maybe in a different way than most people think. I expect holograms to replace goggles and VR devices so that you don't have to wear them on your head. Development will still take many years though.

Well, I stare at a computer screen for the whole day because it's part of my Job and I feel nothing. I wish I could say the same in case of VR or while using mobile in a moving car.

Price is going to be a decisive factor. They are still quite expensive overall and require a more than average computer.
