There are thousands of way for scamming people. No matter what you know, scammers will find a way to scam you. People should do enough research before any kind of investing.

2) Refund - When  eth more 200 to 300 USD people invested some ICO now they are stopped and started refund now Eth price 95 USD .

3) Some ICO announced Soft cap reached successfully later their also follow this kind of refund method .

This is very interesting point. IN my opinion, the whole ICO field is kind of scamming people. Rarely projects are trustable. Better avoid ICO overall.

Once the ICO was stopped or paused high possibility to the ICO to turn to scam that's the technique of the team of ICO to do this but the ICO is scam. They have a lot of format now to scam ICO so you need to be aware on that so you can avoid it and you will not lose more money in your pocket. I suggest once you invest there is a risk that your money gone because you are not 100 percent sure that your money turn back or grow.

not all ico's are scam , there are still few who are legit . all you gotta do is dig them because they are already burried by those scam one's   . and you did mention ieo , i do heard of ieo before  . i think ieo is a hell lot better than ico  .

the price actually drops more after the coin is listed to an online exhange  but its more safer because you know that they are not scam   . investing in the actual ico has lots of advantage only if you are sure about their legitimacy   .

No, They are not a scam and it is not their fault either. I would feel sorry such honest ICO projects, they came with a good plan and raised good money but failed to meet the soft cap! So, Those projects gave back money to its investors. Many projects went away without giving refund when they did not make the soft cap! And, Projects like URUNIT, IngotCoin are the shame for the crypto community, they raised huge money and after then they changed the total work plan so investors and big partners took back their money and those projects are now dead even after reaching the soft cap!

If any company not able to collect required funds and stop their project due to any reasons and give you full refund then you cannot ask it a scam if you get less $ as they always collect in cryptocurrency and refund the same amount which they collect and the value decided by the market. You will get the same amount of your investment in same crypto in which you pay.

What ? 40% only for refund is not a good thing for the peoples who put their money in the project.
They must return at least above 90% of the raised funds so their investors not lose too much money.
point no 3 is worst. If the softcap reached, they should not cancel the project and refund the raised funds.

I think this is the correct refund method. When ETH price 300$ and you invested money in ETH pair not USD, So that project development refund your money following their rules and regulation. Why only 40% money back i don't know and i think it's happened in the few project.

that's why people say that ICO will die in the near future. that is entirely reasonable because there are so many fraudulent projects right now. Good projects will often combine with capital mobilization in exchanges (IEO) to make the process faster.
Public token projects will no longer be in the future and scammers will soon leave the market.

Sadly, I've been scammed by that ICO before. They probably did not continued to distribute the tokens and stop listing it in an exchange. I was frustrated back then, just as I thought I've chosen the right ICO, it was the other thing around.
However, they've been talking about IEO. I will still give my chance to try it than risking joining again in some ICOs.

Research before invest, there are so many scams ICO right now. You need to be careful if you don't want to lose your money and wasting your time.
I only want to invest in ICO with the high hype and trusted like Binance Launchpad, they can give you huge profit and of course is anti scam because is under control of Binance itself.

I was also scammed. ICO has made the distribution of tokens, but unfortunately it is not listed on any exchange, and for a long time has no contact with developers or any information about the development of the project.
