I'm with you Royse, a little bet can be placed. I'm all in all that England will not win the world cup. It's true that they are all fit in every aspects. Their performance are pretty good than almost all of the teams. They have the benefits too. However, I think they will go maximum at semi although I have listed England as 2nd hot favorite team.

Exactly we have seen England under performing in previous world cups.
This World cup is happening in England. The England player will have the home advantage too. Their team is also good. I think they should Win the World cup and make the history.

Hey Royse777 I think it’s fair to label England as the favourites to win it, however I feel they may choke under pressure in the semis or the finals. I feel currently team Australia is in great form, plus now they have the experience of Smith and Warner also to help them win. However I feel one should not rule out West Indies to cause few upsets, and I’m 100% sure Afghanistan will cause a upset.

England and South Africa are two unlucky cricket county. They play better cricket than others all through the years but in big tournaments like World cup they always failed themselves.

For South Africa it's obvious that they can not handle pressure but for England it's an unknown reason, at least for me.

I really hope this two countries break the tradition. They deserve a world cup.

Australia and Afganistan both are in my Underdog list from start and I am still sticking with my first analysis. That's what we can do at this moment if you judge any team by merits and not favoritism(based on nationality. deep down everyone wants to see their Home team to win no matter how shitty they play )

My favorite team for World cup is England because this team looks very balanced to me. they bat deep, got a couple of good allrounders and playing in their backyard. those days are gone when the host team used to lose in every world cup.

Other than the Eng team, India is doing pretty good if they manage to get their combination right for playing X1 then no one can stop this team.
I would not be very surprised if India and England playing finals against each other.

Australia is the underdog in this World cup or to some extent Afganistan too. this team can surprise any team in their day, they showed the determination in Asia cup.

Newzealand and Proteas are good teams too but they don't give much confidence as a team.

Personally, I would like to see Ind vs Pak in the world cup final. if it happens then everyone can imagine the excitement in the cricketing World and for sure lockdown in both countries during the match.

And NZ too. South Africa deserves the most though. They are always the best team with big players but can't able to win a big tournament. They had a better team when Smith was the captain, imo. I wish out of these three team, anyone win the world cup although I will be hurt to see Bangladesh (native) and India to drop out from the tournament.

Honestly, every single team who plays good cricket deserves to lift the World cup, but it all comes down to which team played better cricket at the end of the day.

If I am asked to pick one in between England and South Africa then I will also pick England. Their own condition, ground and recent time they are performing well as well. South Africa has problem in their middle order and lower order batting I think.

In the last series against Australia India were experimenting their line up. As a result they lost the ODIs. I  do not think it measures that Australia is better team than them.

OZ will be going to be a strong team and with the return of Warner and Smith they will have a warm up games in the IPL and will get their form back and in the world cup they would have a great batting site and bowling as well.

Team India conquered outside the continent but they failed to perform well in India which is a shame, their main weapon is bowling and if they fail to contain the opposite batsmen or the pitch does not favor them, then it is a big issue as the batsmen are not performing consistently and they saw in the their home series against Australia and they were leaking runs in the field and missing out easy chances which is not a good sign for a team in form.

I would love to hear everyone's pick for final if it turns out to be an Australia Vs India final. I can not remember how many Australia Vs India finals we have seem but I feel it was more than once?

When it comes to world cup finals, India and Australia battled only once in the finals in 2003 and they smashed the Indian bowlers all around the park mainly Ricky Ponting and that was the case with Pakistan in the finals in 1999, they smashed them and they won without much fight and the 2007 world cup was the most boring tournament i have seen and Australia defeated Srilanka in the finals.

Not agreed that their main weapon is bowling. It was always the batsman and the same is till now. You can't say India have outstanding bowlers other than Bumrah. On the other hand, they have some outstanding batsman like Virat, Rohit. Although I'm still confused of their failure.
