seems you are misinformed about this ETCV thing. they are not part of the actual eth devs. they are using the eth platform just like any other fork.

The reason for the pump is the massive buys for the three ethereum forks starting on 11th of January where some tokens will be Airdropped. I don't know if the market has adjusted enough for long term hold but I am definitely selling after constantinople fork to make profits
