Also gave this member some merits, and from what I could see his other posts weren't too bad either.  Not exceptional, but probably better than the average Jr. Member.  It's a very low bar, to be sure, but at least he puts in some effort and doesn't look like he's blatantly signature spamming.

We are struggling on Polish local forum because of the lack of merit sources and of course merits.

I want to ask merit sources to look a little closer to member @TytanowyJanusz because he is a key member of our local community and many of his post and some threads are not merited at all.

Few examples here but I encourage everyone to look deeper in the history of this member's posts because he frequently writes high-quality texts and there are a lot of them.

I checked the topic again, there are links to original articles at the bottom, but I don't remember that hours ago, there were links to the articles or not (maybe not, if I remembered well).
If links posted hours ago, it is fine and don't violate plagiarism.
So, if it is just copy and & paste with links to original articles, there is no reason to give merits to that topic.

I gave out a few merits for the above topic, as it was the only recent one that isn't too technical for me to grasp what people are saying.  I have a hard time giving out merits when I can't confidently evaluate whether a post is true and of good quality.  This is why I tend not to merit stuff in the technical discussion sections, and unfortunately that's what most members are linking to in this thread.

Good to see this is still going on.  I'd love to see more activity, more links to good posts.  When my computer was busted for a couple of weeks, I kind of built up a stockpile of sMerits which I'm now trying to unload.

The links were in the source article too, he just copied everything. Don't let this discourage you from reporting more good posts here, even if someone earns Merit with plagiarism, he's just going to be twice as sad when he gets banned

I keep a small list of posts when I come over them but don't have sMerit to send as a reference to get back to them later. Most of them are more technical than the links posted above and some are posted on the German local board and received not enough Merit in my opinion since the allocation of our Merit source was cut from 600 to 300 per month due to spending not enough of them in December / January.

Here's another one from my list, it's not a very new post but considering the fact that Merit is also meant to be given for posts to highlight them (and here to underline that the advice should be noted) OP deserves some:

I reported it again after reading your reply and added a note explaining that those links are also copied. The report is marked as good and the post has been deleted.
That makes me wonder if the status of your report on your report history page will change to good too! (sorry for going off-topic).

It's still marked as "bad", I think it would require manual intervention from a Mod to change that. But it doesn't matter much anyway.
