Have to start being smart in choosing projects that have this big forum ..
By looking at the profile of bounty managers, for example, it is a small way that can be avoided if the project is scam or not..
For example, he has a red value or not..

Wen can fight against those scam icos by not promoting it and make an warning to all investors so they can be attracted on those scam projects. bounty hunters must be careful about it because they are the one who promote the project so they can warn investors too. if we help each other we can stop those scam icos.

The best way to deal with a fraudulent ICO is to not participate in it. Every year it becomes more difficult to find a strong honest team of professionals who sincerely believe in their product and successfully promote it in an unfavorable market. Such projects are and will be, you just need to learn how to find them.
Everyone knows about that answer but the problem is how can you determine which is a scam project? that's the problem that has been facing by a lot of people. that needs a lot of knowledge about ico and everyone must be understood about that

I dont even know how to deal and determine which ico is actually a scam since we cannot judge by its cover. Just be careful because everything can get you in danger even if the project is legit.

of course distinguishing real ICOs and scams is very difficult because they are not very different and maybe if every project team / developer wants to do ICO it needs KYC maybe this will be easy

And how will this put a stop to scam ICOs ? Listing them number to number won't bring any changes to ICO scams even if one is detected today this same criminals will create another one ,the only thing we can do to help people especially newbies is to warn them to avoid promoting scam projects

According to my knowledge, the ICO, which requested KYC for investors, was used to find out the people who invest in it. and for the ICO problem, it is better if there is suspicion immediately to make a thread which contains evidence of suspicion of ico projects

Nice thread. But also not just put a name of the scam ICO but prove it by those poster.  I suggest you post it by having a self moderate option to clean up some spam post here. Then only those legit post with matching on the OP will retain in the comment box. It's alright to delete some messages or feedback. Im just thinking it will more cleaner and probably be always get visit by others.

Not all ICOs are worthless just look at projects like Ethereum and EOS who successfully raised funds using this method and are now top ranked platforms, however, you are correct in highlighting the fact that this form of crowd funding has been exploited by scammers and professionals who lack the necessary skills or experience to launch a startup and is no longer a popular avenue of raising funds, but all this is starting to change with IEOs and STOs gaining popularity that can offer more protection for investors
Ethereum and EOS started when scammers has not hijacked the system of ICO from real projects and real developer but now, most of the upcoming projects we have now or the ones recently completed and not up to a year old are scrap.

Though we still have lots of projects that I have been working on that I strongly believe are very reliable and coming out with quality projects. The invention of IEO is really going to be a way forward to earn the trust of more investors because STO might face a lot of setback, even thoughit’s built on blockchain but will still be operated within the centralized market system.

To be frank with you, most of the current projects raising funds have shown some sense of credibility and accountability. I think the level of scam projects in the industry is reducing everyday as many investors are more smart than before, so it is those that have shown some level of credibility that are getting investors for their projects.

it is true that KYC can be used for good things like some ICO do for investors participating in the ICO, but there are some naughty ICOs, they sell investors' identities to others and that is a practice that often happens in online markets such as that.

The fight against the scam is a very, very difficult thing that is being conducted today constantly, I think that there are a very large number of crimes that are being committed today, but theft is the most frequent crime.

Putting those ICO's here who scammed bounty hunters is useless. See the bounty page. There are lots of Bounties still running and there are lots of bounty hunters falling into their trap.

What must be the way to stop? Bounty hunters must stop joining in these stupid bounties. These is the only thing that I know that will completely stop ICO's. We know that bounty hunters play a big role in the ICO as they are advertising their project on various social media platforms. Now if the bounty hunters will not join then it will be hard for the ICO to advertise their project. Bounty hunters must stop joining in the bounties.

Not only from ICO but also from airdrops, they sell their airdrop participants KYC information on dark web. I saw it before.

There are so many scam ICO out there and it's quite easy to detect it, check it by yourself before join an ICO. Repeated project is mostly will ended with not reached softcap or even scam.

Only 3% of ICO investors directly from social media and bitcointalk signature campaign. So, they don't play a big role, in my opinion. However, I think we should be aware of scam ico and spread this awareness among others too. We should create some threads on how to detect scam projects.

2018 WAS A TERRIBLE YEAR BOTH FOR HUNTERS AND INVESTORS TOO MANY SCAMS AND FRAUDULENT TACTICS USED BY CHILDREN CLAIMING TO HAVE SOME IDEA WHICH THEY NEED A FUND RAISER FOR...

As a bounty hunter.. the worse thing that can ever happen to you in the crypto space.. is promoting a scam ico unknowing to you it's a fraudulent company

I AM CREATING THIS THREAD TO HELP SPREED THE AWARENESS OF FRAUDULENT PROJECTS WASTING OUR PRECIOUS TIME AND STEALING THE HARD EARNED MONEY OF INVESTORS..

PLS KINDLY PUT DOWN THE NAME OF ANY COMPANY YOU THINK ITS SCAM AND NOT WORTH INVESTING ON AND GIVE REASON WHY IT SHOULDN'T BE TRUSTED
..

THIS WILL HELP BRING BACK THE TRUST WE ONCE HAD IN THE CRYPTO SPACE AND MAY ALSO GIVE LEGIT ICOS  THE CHANCE TO RAISE ENOUGH MONEY AND KICK START THEIR PRODUCT

ICO Scams ripped the cryptocurency market apart in 2018. But gratefully, the IEOs came with a strand of insurance for investors and induced confidence. This is why 2019 is seeing some crypto resurgence and if IEOs keep performing up to expectations, the market will be fully revived

nice iniciative!
It is actually difficult to run a list of scam ICOs because of several reasons, especially because "scam" is a relative subject, sometimes it is a blunt scam, sometimes it is more elaborate and people will just think that the project failed...
There is also the problem that most scams are identified only after the ICO has finnished and the damage has been done...
But we need to start somewhere and this is a good place...
ODEX -they had very strange reaction to questions about info from the team. They are supposedly based in Marocco, I live close by and offered to pay a visit to the headquarters.... got kicked out .... never paid for ANN translation work
OCTUS - never paid and there were several scam accusations
among others....
