I would very much like if the team losing the toss and batting first, then fighting hard to win the trophy. So far teams have failed to defend the totals and fell short, so IMO that would be an excellent finish to a fine tournament, considering we had so many quality encounters in this edition.

Pakistan has won the toss and we won't experiment with batting first. After all, this is not a small thing to be in the final of the Asia cup and we won't want to do this experiment.  

Srilanka has won the last few matches, betting second. This is a new test for them today. However, Pakistan are used to batting second, and nothing much changed for them. Also, Pakistan will have peace of mind that they won the toss and this will increase more confidence.

Pakistan have got 5 wikcets in 9 overs and score is just 62 runs. Srilanka batsmen played very irresponsibly today. If Pakistan can restrict Srilanka under 150 runs then Pakistan have very much chances of winning this game. Top scorer today is Dhananjaya de Silva 28 runs.

Sri Lanka stumbled at the beginning of the innings after coming down to bat. They lost the wicket of Kushal Mendis by just two runs. Then they lost 5 valuable wickets for just 58 runs.
But the brilliant performance of Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Hasaranga in the fifth wicket partnership saw Sri Lanka collect 106 runs after 14 overs. It was a much needed partnership. It seems that Sri Lanka will be able to give a target of more than 160. And if the bowlers perform well, Sri Lanka have a chance to win. 160 runs can be considered a good collection on such a pitch.

Poor fielding from Shadab Khan he dropped the catch and then ran into Asif Ali to drop another catch. There must be some coordination between players when catching in such matches. Pakistan took early wikcets but failed to capitalise.

Wow, What a turnaround in this final of Asia Cup. Some excellent batting by the lower Srilankan order and some drop catches by Pakistan and now Srilanka looking to make a very good total.
Remember this is a final, so there will be a lot of pressure for the team chasing this target which can be around 160 or even more. This match is not yet over by any means.

The match is very much balanced. Pakistan have 2 out of form batsmen i.e. Babar Azam and Fakhar Srilanka will definitely try to target them early. Pakistan should have restricted Srilanka to 150 after they got 5 early wikcets. 170 will be a bit difficult.

I should have some patience before placing the bet, the odds i got was 1.4 for Pakistan to win when Sri Lanka lost their second wicket and with the way the wickets were falling, i did not expect Sri Lanka to score 170 runs. They were some missed chances in the field especially from Shadab Khan as he dropped couple of catches in the final overs and those two deliveries went for 9 runs.

It is a total that can be chased but Pakistan needs to pace the innings and hopefully not loose much wickets during the first 10 overs.

Edit: Madushan on a hattrick, loosing back to back wickets at this stage is not great.

A target of 171 runs seems to be enough to win. If the bowlers can perform their duties properly. Sri Lanka's collection was only 67 runs in the first 10 overs. My guess was that Sri Lanka will not be able to give a target of more than 150. But they managed to give a big target of 171.

Pakistan's performance depends on certain batsmen. Over a few batsmen like Babar Azam, Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman. If the Sri Lankan bowlers can take the wickets of these three batsmen quickly then Sri Lanka will definitely win.

Babar Azam gifted his wicket once again just like he give his wikcet in every match of the tournament. Today he is out on just 5 and fakhar Zaman didn't even bother to trouble the scorer out for zero. These 2 have not done anything in the tournament but still fakhar keep getting chances.

Pakistan managed to score only 37 runs in the power play. The match can yet be called a 50-50 chance. But if Sri Lanka can be kept under a little more pressure then Pakistan can lose a few more wickets quickly. As it is the last and final match of the Asia Cup, 2022 therefore under a lot of pressure both of the two teams.
