If Rituraj Gaikwad continues to play throughout this season as he has in the previous two games. He might get selected for the ODI team for the world cup.

Don't know about his selection in the ODI setup but he'll surely put a fair amount of pressure on selectors when they will discuss the T-20 team.

Guys like Gaikwad, Tripathi and Gill will move up in the pecking order and senior players like KL Rahul or even Rohit could take a hit.

Shubman Gill is someone with powerful backers. He can't be grouped in the same category as Rahul Tripathi or Ruturaj Gaikwad. Anyway, at this point there is not enough room to accommodate a lot of the younger players in the national side. Many of the senior players take part in all the three formats of the game, and this means that younger players need to wait until multiple players become unavailable due to injury or other reasons in order to get a national team selection call. What the BCCI needs to do is to restrict players such as Kohli and Rohit to test format. India can afford to have three separate squads for three different formats of the game.

You are making it sound like he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Management is backing him because of his performance in all 3 formats, he's 23 and has tons in every format so it's good.

But yeah i agree with the grouping argument. I guess the problem is senior players just don't want to retire or leave any format and as result, the new generation just warming the bench. I am just hoping that management would break this cycle for the T-20 format. We have seen how they left out Rohit-KL and Kohli from the squad in the recent T-20 series.

Yeah, If we leave out Wriddhiman Saha and Vijay Shankar then there are too many match winners in this team and the middle order is packed with heavyweights who can win matches singlehandedly.

GT's management even manages Saha beautifully at the top and he seems to play the opener role quite efficiently despite his limitations.

GT is new team but very strong they have a good IPL season last year i.e. winner of IPL 2022 and they have an excellent start of this IPL too. Delhi team should have given a target of 200 runs to Gujrat team but they settled for 162 which was chased easily by GT in 19th over.

IPL revenue is based on the 50-50 model. BCCI keeps 50% and the remaining 50% of the amount gets divided among each franchise equally. Gate collection and merchandise sales etc are not included in the IPL revenue, this revenue goes directly to the franchise, not BCCI.

No there is no concept of a national treasury in BCCI, they don't even pay any taxes, at least direct taxes. A big chunk of BCCI revenue goes to all state cricket bodies (38 teams), it includes all levels of cricket (M/F) Junior/senior schools, State level and infrastructure, overall it's a transparent process.

And this is an unofficial stand, some small % also goes to big guns as bribes, mainly politicians (not the ruling party) but every stakeholder and almost every major party in India has a stake in the state bodies and it's nonpartisan.   

So you mean nothing goes to National treasury from IPL not even in the form of Taxes. If 105 crore Indian rupee is generated from one match then thousands of crores from every IPL will be earned each year. Government is loser in IPL business or they have some indirect benefit?
IPL business is growing every year and may be very soon it joins English Premier league in terms of revenue generation. The viewership of IPL is already high thanks to cricket craze in India.
