Due to the huge amount of redundant topics in the mining support board , also the “words” used in describing the issues can be very hard to search for, many members have topics with titles such as “help needed” and then they post an image showing their problem, these topics are almost impossible to be found, therefore I  wanted to make a sort of collection for most common issues in one thread.
I could also use some help, if you think that there are more topics that need to be added, please post away so that i can add them, also if you have any suggestions for better tittles to these topics feel free to suggest.

Before you post anything asking for help, please ensure that you have done the following:

1-   Reboot the miner ( many issues can be solved by simply rebooting the miner)
2-   Flush a different firmware
3-   Reset the miner, you have to try these 3 methods > https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003595387-How-to-reset-miner-to-factory-settings-
4-   Reboot your router/switch.
5-   Try a different PSU

Many issues can be solved by the 5 methods mentioned above.

also check these links before posting new questions (suggested by BitMaxz )

- Possible problems and solutions for S7, S9 (fixed frequency) & L3+
- S9 series Antminers low hash rate
- Test hash board one by one

Below is a list of some of the most common issues, if you need to make a new post please make sure you include screenshots of the status page as well as the kernel log.

You might want to mention this is basically an antminer guide because almost every topic you linked is antminer specific.

There is a guide from Bitmain where you can see a list of problems and solution that I think adding this in your list will give users to find other solution about their miner's problem.

Add this list.

- Possible problems and solutions for S7, S9 (fixed frequency) & L3+
- S9 series Antminers low hash rate
- Test hash board one by one

well there is this > Avalon 741  Grin , but you are right

well , Bitmain sadly dominate the mining industry, also more than 90% of topics in the mining support are antminer related, i can't come up with my own issues related to non-antminer miners, if you have an topics that you suggest adding post away, i'll add them, as i mentioned i could use some help, this is not a 1 man job.

There is a guide from Bitmain...

thanks , added

I work mostly with Antminer S9s and Ebit E9+s. As you can probably imagine, information on the E9s is nearly impossible to find, which really sucks because their bulk management software gives you tons of valuable information (actually ridiculously good miner management software given the fact that pretty much everything else out of the company is usually "ehh").

Anyways, I just wanted to lay out there that the Antminer S9s (at least original and S9i) and Ebit E9+ are so similar in design that I've pretty much solved a ton of issues by trying Antminer solutions. There are some minor differences but the point I really want to get at is that despite this post being heavily biased towards Antminers, I think we could easily help out a lot of people if we could either make a list of "similar" or "close enough to give it a shot" hardware and their Bitmain or Avalon counterparts.

For example, I can vouch for the fact that despite some minor differences in the models (mostly heat sinks and SD card slot), the S9s/S9i/E9+ are extremely similar. The software side is obviously a lot less similar but my point is that most of the trouble shooting steps and solutions for the Antminers seem to work pretty well on the E9+ as well (mostly hardware problems; e.g. resetting, testing proper grounding, testing hash boards, what steps to take if "X", etc.).

If we can compile a list, then despite most of the troubleshooting posts being "Antminer centric", we could point people in the right direction. Had I never touched an S9 before in my life, I would have never thought of using Antminer troubleshooting tips for my E9+. I hope there are others out there that can chime in on other hardware that's similar to whatever we already have troubleshooting guides for. This way, we can at least expand the guides' usefulness a bit to others without much work involved and, hopefully, they can post on what worked for them.

Either way, thank you for this sticky!

Hey mrmoee , Thanks for chiming in, I do agree that the vast majority of the topics I included here revolve around Antminer. This is mainly based on the fact that 99% of the gears I have are actually from Bitmain, a good portion of these topics are actually mine as well, which explains the reason why you see no Ebit or Microbt related issues in this thread, except for the obvious general topics such as " Miner is powered on but not showing on the network".

I, however, agree to your statement, there are similarities between different miners, this is why I started ordering different machines, my last was an M21s from Whatsminer,  I got it for the sake of trying something different, I will also be looking to get at least one gear from all the different manufactures in the industry, just so to get to understand the difference and similarities between them.

Having said that, if you or anyone else come across any topic that troubleshoots/fixes another miner, please post here and I will update the OP accordingly.

If the machine failed when changing the network, it might be due to network settings; the miner could not find the IP. In such cases, you must shut down the miner and restart it Smiley

~snip~

Next time make your own thread related to your issue under this section or at least put all your logs inside the "insert code tag".

Anyway, what is your current miner temp under the dashboard? Maybe it throttles the speed due to high temp try to take the temp lower or set your fan to 100% might help to cool down the miner a bit and force the miner to run at a high hash rate.

Also, would you mind checking the miner settings under mode if there is a turbo mode choose that if there is turbo mode but I guess they remove it for new miners only sleep and normal mode is usually what you can see there.  You can also try to flash the unit with the recent firmware available from Bitmain.

I think also some of these is course due to over use of the mining machine and insufficient power supply that is why one need adequate power as it required allot energy.

NO! As to why not, ref https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5497531.0
That out of the way you must also realize that not all 'crypto' is the same. While Bitcoin is a crypto coin, no other crypto coins are the same as Bitcoin. Only Bitcoin is 'Bitcoin', all others are what is called 'altcoins' - and the vast majority of them are near worthless which is why they are also known as CrapCoins.

A good place for you to start is the Beginners & Help area here
While you are there, read about how to use a Forum: They are broken down into subject areas and one does not just randomly post questions wherever you want. Post your questions in the right areas and in the right existing topic threads (if they exist) or you will be catching all kinds of hell from folks.

Hello there,
Cordial Greetings!
I'm a newbie here. I am seeking to mine Crypto. Could I do it with a laptop?

Regards!

You can mine on a website called nicehash.

point to kawpow coin and nicehash will convert it to btc.

You are not mining btc.

You are renting hash to someone and the fee you get becomes btc.

it will be under 1 dollar a day
it will likely kill your laptop in under 6 months.
