These were the days when Bitcoin was pretty easy to obtain through online mining pools and faucets ect.  As time went by,  I lost interest in Crypto and kinda forgot about it until Bitcoin hit 19k in 2017 . By this time I had changed my computer and hard drives and along with it all my passwords and wallets and dat files,  to cut a long story short I searched all over for my old hardrives, ran recovery on one of the drives I had kept and found nothing I gave up searching and just got used to the fact that I had lost a lot of money.

Fast foward to 2019 we were cleaning out a cuboard and at the very back was a shoe box and in that shoebox were 3 hardrives one of which contained all my passwords, wallets and dat files for all my Bitcoins, Litecoin and Feathercoins. I may have lost out on when Bitcoin was at its best but I now have all the info I need. I have sold some of it and will hold the rest until Bitcoin goes up again and it will. The money I got from selling some of the bitcoin and litecoin even though not at its highest I basically got for doing nothing apart from online pool mining  and playing with faucets  back in 2013,  so im happy with it. Never give up if you have lost money on Cryptos and if you did what I did keep,  looking for that lost hardrive it will turn up eventully.  In 2019 it is so easy to buy and sell Bitcoions too and it was instant money from selling to transfering the moeny into paypal then into my bank account.  How things have changed for the better for cryotocoins

I think I love this story which is not as unfortuante as we have heard similar situations where the hard drives could not anymore be found. I am happy that you eventually recovered what you had lost and though the price of Bitcoin is not the same as it was in 2017 still that is quite a big blessing and you have some to play with if you want to. This is better than those who decided to sell their Bitcoin when it hit $15 thinking that it was already big and afraid that one day it might fall back to just cents. The lesson here is that we should never give up and just pray that eventually things will be working out fine for all of us.

I congratulate you for finding your lost hardrives.
I had a similar experience but it's not Cryptocurrency related.
I had submitted application for a contract  awards in  one of the parastatals in my country in 2017.
It got awarded to another contractor and as Providence would have it , the contractor did a very bad jod and it was revoked and awarded to my company this week.
I was even the list qualified among other contenders.
I never gave up believing I will get it one day.

There is no "SURE" things in this crypto world. We can expect the price will back to the moon again and probably break the ATH price record but we can assure people that it will happen. It can be something misleading once it is not happening as what you say. You can be blamed by any person if you say like that but the fact does not like what you said to them.

I have some coins who sold when the bitcoin is very low and when price of the bitcoin rise I feel happy and sad. Happy because we can earn money but sad because I lost the opportunity to become millionaire but Im still blessed to working to the bitcoin and looking for more decades to work to crypto.

What do you work for crypto? By the signature campaign? I can say that you are not working to crypto, you are working to advertise the project in the signature. I can even say that it is not a job, dont rely on it to earn money.

Bitcoin is your safest bet. Coins like Monero and Litecoin did great too. I wouldn't go too far away from the top 20 coins and even when I do that I wouldn't invest more than %10.

Together with market price increase and thinking also how the demand slowly getting back to its where it should be then probably it is good to have bitcoin and use it. I almost got totally wiped out of my crypto portfolio in 2018 and it really crippled me to the point I went almost to the edge, but I never gave up and although right now I am not out of the woods yet, I can still say I am relying on crypto for my bread and butter but want to start putting a little aside hopefully of what I earn from trading and other activities into Bitcoin as the sentiment towards 2020 will be quite bullish I think from now on, especially with Bitcoin halving next year and the block rewards going down for the miners. Now i wrote them all down and keep at a safe place just a second layer security in case it happen again.

You still have big luck even though you don't have time to sell bitcoins for $ 19k at that time, if you have a bitcoin from the past 2013 which costs under $ 1000, now you still have 3x luck, and the word surrender is not the solution to success but confidence strong ones will motivate the spirit of achieving dreams

I guess in life we should never give up. I also got (but just dust amounts) way back and it was about 7 bitcoins. I know I printed in somewhere and in early 2017, I was like a work horse trying to find for my privatekeys because I know that I have save it somewhere in one of my bags of folder and I was able to find it in the next 2 months and obviously I was very lucky because the price goes to the moon at the end of the year. Sold everything, gamble a few and invest it offline.

Same as what happened to you in 2013 I had same problem. Lost bitcoin in 2015 from hard drive got damage. Never received these lost bitcoins. Still today can’t recover becasuse laptop had got sold off by mistake. But the hard drive was faulty so can’t recover anyway.
So you are the luck one that recovered you cryptocurrency. Luck you.

But I also never give up. And in 2016 started again collecting coins.

You were very lucky, but we can not say that other people will have the same luck that you had. we need to evaluate every decision we make. In the case of someone investing in cryptos it is recommended that this person does a lot of research on cryptos, invest only money that can afford to lose and always have a plan B. In the case of someone buying or owning crypto it is advisable to be sure of protect your crypto and have a plan B.

Bitcoin trading / Investments etc are not an easy things and you cannot get rich from them in short term. These things requires experience and more the experience you have, more there will be chances that you gain  profit from bitcoins.

 No not new users but the panic sellers lost their money, I know old investors are really lucky but if a person get the opportunity to buy at low price and hold then there is no ;lose, it is all about the user, don’t get into scamming, losing once is not the problem, but taking it as your luck and not learning from it your mistake for sure.

Good thing for those who early adopts bitcoin and some alts few years on when they were created.Price isnt really high that much and obtaining satoshis wont really be that hard compared as of now.

I agree 100%. In my case i need first to generate a good amount of money monthly or yearly however you want to see it to be able to invest as serious as i want to, for now it's a matter of getting the necessary skills first to be able to do it.

Well, basically there's no problem on your side because you knew that you have a wallet full of coins which only need to decrypt unlike most of people out there who are struggling just to earn some. Yeah april is proving to be a better month so far for 2019. But that's likely because where we came from isn't really that good to begin with. It's good to see we're slowing moving away from the 3k area and establishing a hold within 5k. We just have to be careful about being too excited because a small drop can pull the price hard if excited people panic.

Back in 2017 my PC had an electrical problem which started a fire damaging my hard drive. Never regain anything from the hard drive ive lost all my password, private keys. Now i wrote them all down and keep at a safe place just a second layer security in case it happen again.

I think I love this story which is not as unfortuante as we have heard similar situations where the hard drives could not anymore be found. I am happy that you eventually recovered what you had lost and though the price of Bitcoin is not the same as it was in 2017 still that is quite a big blessing and you have some to play with if you want to. I think it is hard to fight feelings, some people easily get scared when the whole market is in bloodbath mode and they dump all their hodlings to be able to cut their losses on their investments and can't blame them with that. IT's easier to make money when we have money, though. Whales don't mind big losses because let's face it, they have enough money to live comfortable regardless if they would lose their money or not... they will always be able to live comfortable so Bitcoin investing is just a game in that respect, because poor people don't have the option of losing it's either win or keep being poor lol.

In cryptos it is more about luck.
I have been the part of this community since 2014. In 2015  after that massive dump, many people left. Everyone was calling bitcoin dead. Then 2017 happened. People became rich and then in 2018 many lost a lot. This cycle has always been the part of cryptocurrency.  The people who leave stay the losers and people who stay can recover their losses. It's just the matter of time and patience. We are still pretty new in financial world. There is a lot market left to be covered. Think about the demand still out there.

The situation goes hard and those persons who didn't understand this will simply lost their hopes and trust. It is common thing to happen when since from the start we think that crypto is just a scam shit and nothing. Don't be stupid thinking you can win big with Gambling. If you have to be luckier then you cannot win Gambling games, most players who join Gambling lose and you think you will become one of the winners? I advise you to give up this stupid idea.

You're taking my use of the word "gamble" too literally, in context it was more along the lines of "I regret not taking the chance to get into crypto earlier".
On the topic of actual gambling though, I am fairly lucky but the iron-clad rule is "don't bet what you're not willing to lose".
Interestingly enough, you can apply that to crypto as well since it involves a similar amount of risk-taking at times.

Thanks for sharing this motivating story here for us all to learn from. In life indeed we should never give up even though things may seem not to turn out the way we want or expect. Sometimes good things in life take time and lots of patience. There are so many people who had bitcoin when it was less than a dollar and due to impatience sold it off before it even got to 10dollar and seeing bitcoin reach its peak in 2017, am sure they regret the move they took earlierearlier on selling their bitcoin. Bitcoin is the future and we should be patient with it even though price may not be what we want now but soon enough we will see it go beyond our expectation.

I read your story and I felt motivated. Giving up in anything is not an option for anyone who desire to succeed. I remember years back when bitcoin worth wasnt much, this friend of mine sold his bitcoin and towards late 2017 when bitcoin was around 19k dollars, i called him to tell him and he wept bitterly. Those who gave up on bitcoin in the past have seen how far bitcoin growth has gotten to and I believe they regret not believing in the bitcoin ideology. Apart from bitcoin, we should learn to have faith in whatever we do, as sometimes the early stages of most investments seem to be frustrating but things tend to turn around after sometime.
