Holding a coin or token for a long term is very unlikely to benefit from it. Most tokens lose their value when held long term. Those who have received these shitcoins through bounty or airdrops have no choice but to hold them? I have more than 200 different tokens in my ETH address.  During this bull run, I saw one of these came on the exchange and I sold $120. So I would say check your wallet a little from time to time. Maybe one of these could turn into a valuable coin.

Because holding is the only thing we can do to those worthless coins. We can't transfer it due to fee is higher than its value. We can't transfer it due to some are not listed on exchangers. Seeing lot of coins in your wallet is quite amazing but checking its value is non sense. I also have lot of coins earned from airdrops before which is good for nothing. I think that was 2017 to 2018 wherein during that time it is already worthless and up to now it is much more worthless. I'm not sure if it will become worthy someday, so I guess I will just leave it there forever.

but if you think to keep holding shitcoin, then the consequence you will receive is rugpull. this is totally real, i have some shitcoins but not to invest, buying and taking profit of the momentum would be better than having to lose all the capital

yes I agree with you, because if we sell shitcoin, then we only spend ETH for pay gas fees to transfer this shitcoin on exchange and it is not certain that in exchange we can sell this shitcoin (don't have the volume to sell it), therefore than we spend ETH for pay gas fees, so it is better if we make this shitcoin as a collection.

I guess the main reason why many crypto enthusiasts are hodling shitcoins is because they do believed that it can be more valuable over time and we have seen some of shitcoins that pump massively this year that give almost a 1000% gain for them.

I have the coins I earned from the bounty back in 2017. I sold the main part immediately after entering the stock exchange, and left about 10% and forgot about them. Now a lot of coins have accumulated, worth $ 15-20, and I don't see the point in selling them with such a commission
