Why does crypto keep screwing me over??

I think you are confused. Every trader/investor want to buy at the bottom and if you are buying at bottom then how you are screwed?
You have to DYOR for your coin as it is not advisable to take investment advice from unknown person.
Crypto is volatile assets and it is almost impossible to  predict.

I also tried to make short and lost almost all of my balance because I was sure about this deal. now i am recovering my capital

It is not about the cryptocurrency, as i understand your comment here you should not buying anything now.
You should make more studies and understanding on this cryptocurrency more.
This is not a buy now and be lucky. there must be source and knowledge before getting a token or coins.

Everyone is stressful because of the losted amounts in the market. Crypto investing is very risky and investors can lose the balance faster than blink of eye. Biggest crash is about the 900% down in altcoins...
