How do you sell your house to invest in bitcoin, does it mean that you have other businesses that you’re into or you have something that is giving you money, or you have other shelters where you can keep managing your life while you have sold your property all in the name of making investments, well that might not be your discretionary income, because from what I have learnt here you’re meant to invest in bitcoin with your discretionary income.
This is a practice that I will not encourage no matter what because their is no guarantee that Bitcoin will skyrocket in the future, even though it has a high potential in doing so, because we are meant to invest with what we can afford to lose, so by selling your house to invest in Bitcoin is wrong, because I can bet that such person cannot afford to lose the proceeds from the sold house, instead, such person should try to figure out his discretionary income to invest with, not by selling his home to take such risk that will keep him in constant panicking anytime the price of Bitcoin is down, so it's a practice all Bitcoin investors should avoid, unless it's a house you can afford to lose.
I know about a man who had 2 houses, ranted one out and stayed in the other in different states in my country, he was staying in the house outside of his state because that's where he was working and his family was with him,the house in his hometown was rented out, during an insurgent crisis he had to jump works and returned to his own state snd to the house in his hometown leaving the other house behind, he bought that house because he was working over there but now that he wasn't working there anymore he decided to sell , he didn't invest in bitcoin of course, he probably didn't even know about bitcoin but he did open up beverages store for his wife, it won't be completely wrong to say that money was discretionary and some of it could have been used for bitcoin investment, he didn't sell it because of the investment though, he sold out of necessity.
If you have two houses just as you said, I think I will encourage that but if you don't have more than one house and only because of the love you have for bitcoin, sell your own house where you are currently living, honestly I will say that you are a gambler because with this scenario it simply means that you are not ready to invest in Bitcoin at all rather than to be trader. Bitcoin investment is necessary when you have the means but forcing yourself into this investment is actually a trap because it took almost a decade of holding your Bitcoin and during that. During that you will be homeless and there's no guarantee that Bitcoin will Skyrocket in the future, I don't see any chances of winning in this gambling because it's too risky and everyone have to move away from it.
For me selling one's house for bitcoin might still not be the smartest move even though the person has more than one house, the situation I talked about makes sense because the man had not reason to go back to the house and did not see himself or his family going back there so he sold it,  but if he wanted to sell the house to buy bitcoin then it would make more sense to me for him to rent the house and DCA with the rent that's paid to him from his tenant, that way he will still be able to buy bitcoin regularly while still keeping his house.
Anyone with a single house who even considers selling it in order to buy bitcoin should not bother to even call themselves bitcoin investors,  they are gambler through and through.
Indeed that is so ridiculous, how can anyone think of selling his house just to buy Bitcoin, while many do sell their Bitcoin holdings to buy houses, I advice anyone who actually wants to sell their properties to buy Bitcoin to still hold , look for a job that will pay you monthly income, then once the income start flowing you can DCA but is not a good idea to sell a house to buy Bitcoin, consider the risk management too , you owning a building you can rent it , use the money that will come out to buy Bitcoin, so delete the mindset of selling prosperities to buy Bitcoin it's not encouraging.
Sometimes i don't blame any investors of selling what he knows he can be able to buy back in future and it is not a bad idea of selling off what ever that is convenient for you to sell as an investors because surely in future the property you sold can be bought back and that is why it is always advisable to only sell what you can afford to buy back in future, so the process of looking for a means of getting a job before you can start purchasing Bitcoin is not that good because by then you could have missed out so many market opportunities, so for you to grab any opportunities or taking the advantage of market price, is to sell what ever you can afford to buy back.

There is something you don't understand dude, you should know that the future is not certain but it is very bright if you are privilege to see it and so you don't assume and conclude things you are not the owner of or something you are not in charge of, because you may sell now because you think it is convenient and that you can buy later in the future but sorry to this it may not be possible to buy back in the future because a lot can happen or change with time so why sell now when you can afford not to sell?

Indeed, if we own multiple houses and then sell one, for example, if it's unused, it could be profitable. If the money is used to buy BTC, the profit could be substantial in the future. If BTC continues to rise, it could potentially buy more than one house. I think quite a few people think that way right now, but of course, it's very risky. Of course, even though BTC has the potential to rise significantly in the future, we don't know what will happen to BTC in the future.

So, in essence, I agree with you. It's better not to sell a house to buy BTC because of the high risk. It's better to use the rent money to buy BTC and hold it for the long term. So, the bottom line is that buying BTC should be done with money you can afford to lose, or from discretionary income. And of course, buy BTC whenever you can, even during a bullish market. Investments should be enjoyed, as they are simply a side business, in my opinion.

The money from the sale of the house is of course a large amount and of course if invested in bitcoin it is the right thing, but before that I don't think you should force it too, for example we want to buy more with the BTC price situation that is falling then it should be considered again to sell the house and even if it is the final decision I think not entirely invested may be used in part to meet that need is not bad either.

More entry will buy BTC with the money from the rental house so it can be a consistent purchase because the payment of this rental house must be done consistently at the specified time. So it is better to rent out an existing house than to sell it.

Did you know that realty a.k.a real estate is also a profitable investment that has build up billions in dollars? I don't advise that people should sell their house(s) to buy bitcoin regardless of how an enthusiast of bitcoin I am. Every risk must have to be calculated and managed to the barest minimum of any consequences that may arise should it go south from plans.

My candid advise is for anyone who has houses to see it as an investment too, and (to diversify);they can rent out the building and be using the proceeds of rents from the houses to invest in bitcoin, accumulating using the DCA strategy. Doing this, you don't risk losing your house and funds from the house sold just to buy bitcoin.

Since the prerequisite for investing in Bitcoin is to hold a long-term portfolio. We can see from the past history of Bitcoin that it cycles its value up and down, if someone can hold their Bitcoin for at least two cycles, they can benefit a lot from it. For example, in the 2021 cycle, we saw the highest price of Bitcoin reaching $65,000 from which the price gradually decreased to $15,000 the next year, and again in the 2024 cycle, the price of Bitcoin reached a maximum of over $125,000. In every bull market, we see the price of Bitcoin increasing for a few days from the highest price of the previous cycle. So when someone wants to invest in Bitcoin, he should invest there with money that he does not need very soon, i.e. discretionary income.
When a person builds an emergency fund after meeting basic needs, while also maintaining investment continuity and nurturing their portfolio over several cycles, they will benefit greatly over time.
Bitcoin tend to place investor in better position when held for longer-term durations, but then again don't think that long term accumulation guarantees success, coz it doesn't... Bitcoin is truly volatile and that volatility makes the asset very much uncertain for future benefits... Can I comfortably afford to lose that money you are putting into Bitcoin? That should be the question that any and every investor should ask themselves while trying to invest in Bitcoin, so they wouldn't overexpose themselves..

In a situation like this where the person believes they have no use for the house any more and they want to invest in bitcoin with whatever comes from it, this would mean that they are already making enough from a different source that whatever will come from that house will be considered discretionary income then they can opt to rent the house out instead of selling it, this way they can DCA with the rent and if for any reason in the near future something happens to the main house they will still have a plan B to fall to, in this case the house will end up serving as some kind of an emergency backup.

This is the reason why people are always advice to invest with their discretionary income because nothing is guarantee in bitcoin investment even when held for a long time, from past record bitcoin has been rewarding long term investors from the past history but despite this long term hope we are still not guarantee that we can be profitable even in long term because BTC is a volatile asset, dca strategy is a good one to start buying bitcoin gradually using the discretionary income and hodl for 4-10 or more.

I'm VERY confident that buying Bitcoin, and HODLing, NOW has more than a 50/50 probability of giving the HODLer a profit in ten years than a pleb who's starting a small business today.

In ten years you remember this post - Bitcoin will be priced in a $500,000 valuation per coin.

 Cool
There are so many uncertainties involved with buying and accumulating bitcoin you will never be completely sure about everything about the future of bitcoin, we know that bitcoin have potentials, which is why there are so many individuals who are still investing in bitcoin, plebs like us are also showing more interest in buying and accumulating more bitcoin, because they also know that bitcoin have a tremendous potentials.

However considering the future of bitcoin, you will not neglect the volatility nature of bitcoin, because you can never know everything about the volatility nature of bitcoin, which I think it’s one of the reasons why there are always going to be uncertainty concerning the future of bitcoin, but what can we do ? We only have to keep buying and accumulating bitcoin and hoping for the best to come and have a better future with investing in bitcoin.

I really agree with your points that people should not sell their house just because they want to invest in Bitcoin. Instead of selling the house, it would be better for them to rent it out and use the money generated from that house to invest in Bitcoin. That even makes more sense than selling the house.A house is not a liability like a car, which always needs maintenance from time to time. I may even say that the money spent on maintenance can help someone build a better portfolio when that kind of money is invested in Bitcoin.

One thing about a house is that someone may not see its value now, but later in the future, many will be surprised by how much the house may has increased in value. People should also understand that even Bitcoin which someone may sell their house to invest in, does not guarantee that they will definitely make profits in the future.I can advise people to sell unnecessary and less useful properties to invest in Bitcoin, but I would never advise someone to sell their house to invest in Bitcoin.

I don't agree with that, someone can have guarantee gains if their investments is done properly, whereby they won't have to touch their Bitcoin in order to survive. You cannot tell me that people who have invested in Bitcoin since 2011 or before are not able to make any gains from it .  The people who won't profit from Bitcoin are those who have traders mentality, investing beyond their capabilities, weak emotions and mindset to stick with their long term holding goals.

‎True its a very nice idea, the rented house can just be another means of generating more cash flow into their pockets in which they can use part of it  to accumulate Bitcoin or even increase their discretionary income amount if they are already accumulating through DCA with a moderate amount. That way they maintain ownership of valuable assets whilst using part of the income it generates to build another portfolio (Bitcoin). Selling your house to invest in Bitcoin doesn't really sit well with me tbh, if the property was a liability maybe having multiple Cars, I don't mind selling one of my cars to invest in Bitcoin.

I'm VERY confident that buying Bitcoin, and HODLing, NOW has more than a 50/50 probability of giving the HODLer a profit in ten years than a pleb who's starting a small business today.

It's not for those who doubt, it's for those with serious conviction, those who believe that the historical path it has followed since existence won't change. If people who are strong holders and benefited from doing that had doubt, I don't think they would've adviced people concerning long term holding.

Volatility have a way of discouraging investors due to dip but people with conviction see it as opportunities instead of disappointments, if people follow how volatile is they'll not even consider it as a good option but when you take a look at the history and how it's grown since existence, you'll have more than enough reasons to buy and hold it longer.

Even if you do or are doing everything perfectly and properly well profits or gains are not guaranteed, your thought can be misleading, that you doing everything perfectly well in your own way and within your ability and with a long term goal doesn't mean profits or gains are guaranteed, know this and have your peace as this doesn't mean that Bitcoin doesn't have the potential of rewarding in the long term if properly held well but you saying that some one can have guaranteed is completely wrong and out of place.

Any one who started buying bitcoin from the year you mentioned without selling will be in profit but this doesn't mean that we are guarantee to make gain from our bitcoin investment so don't believe that profit is guarantee, we are not sure about the future bitcoin now if it's an investment that guarantee profit no body will be using discretionary income to invest in bitcoin people can go in with what ever they have knowing and believing that these is a sure guarantee for them to make enough gain and profit in the future so don't mis guild those who don't know by telling them that they are guarantee of profit if they invest in BTC thats a wrong information.

I also agree with your idea, because it's true that having to sell the house we live in to invest in Bitcoin is clearly a very bad idea. Basically, if we don't have a place to live, new problems will inevitably arise, and more will arise, because we have to rent a house, which will certainly be a burden. Therefore, if we have extra space in our house, renting it out to someone else might be better than having to sell our house permanently.

Because when we want to invest in Bitcoin, enthusiasm is certainly a good thing, but it's also important to remember that we must think carefully before taking action. So that our actions don't make us regret it later. Because if we are too enthusiastic and don't think about every action we take, it will clearly lead to disaster in the future. Therefore, it is better to invest in Bitcoin by simply doing DCA, because it is better, even if it is little by little.

Diversification might seems like a means of reducing your concentration in bitcoin investment but if you already have an asset that is standing and probably yielding you returns, it is better to let it bet and get funds from another source. if the house is used for rentage, you can even wait and use the rent for your bitcoin investment so that way, you are utilizing your rent returns for a cause that can even yield more profitability.

 Cool

Bitcoin to surge to a $500,000 price valuation PER COIN in ten years will have a higher probability than Bitcoin staying below $100,000, OK?

Come back to this post in ten years if we plebs are still here.

Your advice is too one sided. You pointed out the risks of Bitcoin but act like real estate has no risks at all. Every investment has risks. If you're going to teach people about risk, tell the whole story instead of only the part that fits your opinion. Hope you know that houses can stay vacant for months, tenants can stop paying rent, you didn’talk about cost of maintenance, the value of your house can also depreciate overtime. So what are you saying ?

The worse part is saying people won't risk losing their house. FYI people lose house every year because of debt, foreclosure, lawsuits or poor funds management. Owning a rental property does not remove those risks

One mistake many individuals do is feeling they have to go all in immediately, consistently investing what one can afford over often works better than selling productive assets just to purchase more Bitcoin. Patience , proper budgeting and diversifcation can help one stay invested without putting unnecessary pressure on one finances. Investment isn't a race, building one Bitcoin position gradually with money one can comfortably spare is usually a smarter approach than sacrificing income generated assets.

Selling a house to buy bitcoin is like forcing a situation that is actually not necessary either, because the purchase of bitcoiin is more advisable to use discretionary funds unless for example selling a house because of other needs and part of this is invested in bitcon it seems more reasonable than selling a house with the main purpose is to be invested, although it is possible it can be profitable but this does not seem advisable.

As you said that it is better to invest in Bitcoin with funds that you can afford to lose, and that are precisely discretionary funds. Even if we want to buy more or aggressively better it is maximized with our own discretionary income.
