They may stop lying about that specific thing to the people made aware it was a lie. They usually continue to lie on all other matters where they find it beneficial. Like scammers, they never miss a scamming opportunity they THINK they can get away with.

Won't happen.  When theymos gave OG one last chance to clean up his act regarding Lauda, he also said we could argue all we want.  OG took that to heart.

I'm not arguing with you.  I proved you were a liar and trust abuser.  That was the end of the argument for me.  You're now taking it a step further to show that besides being obsessed with your trust rating, you're incredibly insecure about it.

I don't think spreading lies about me to combat the truth I posted about you has the effect you think it does.  You're bringing more eyes to your lies and juvenile behavior.  I respond because I've learned not to stop people when they start digging themselves holes.  I could post the PM exchange I had with theymos to prove you wrong with your latest accusations I was forced to do anything with my trust ratings, but somehow watching you spread lies without knowing the truth yourself is more amusing and likely more effective means of displaying your behavior to those in the know.

OgN has negative ratings for personal reasons. You are afraid to leave negative ratings for those that can return the favor even if they are doing bad things.

1) I called you a liar.
2) You cherry picked quotes over 3 years to appear I posted a specific thing to you.
3) You called it proof and said everyone could see it, but my trust went up.
4) Then you chose to remove your trust abuse.
5) You lied about the reason for doing that too.

But as long as you have "proved" I am liar, this thread can end - and you can explain why you lied about Theymos.  Even your dog is confused about that one.

I'm glad to see negative feedback is removed from several profiles who posted here.
We should try and leave negative trust only if we strongly believe someone has scammed or is trying to do so, especially after this welcomed change:

Logged-out users will now see a warning in trust-enabled sections if more DT members neg-trust the topic starter than positive-trust him.

This increases the responsibility of DT members not to give negative trust for stupid reasons, but only for things that cause you to believe that the person is a scammer.

Leaving neutral trust or ~excluding someone from the trust list is one thing, but negative trust must be reserved to fight scammers, not for ego fights or misunderstandings.


Edit: Please note I'm not supporting one or the other party. Please don't try to make it look like I do. I want to be as far away from this senseless discussion as possible.
All I'm saying is this fight (as well as a lot of other recent discussions on Meta and Reputation) is not about scams so no negative trust is deserved.

That's what I thought. Trust feedback should be about identifying scammers, not simply tarnishing people who have offended you. As far as I know the trust system is not a popularity contest.
