I think some people believe you are willing to take money off the top when you are holding money for others, because that is exactly what they do, and they want part of that action.

When it was well known I was holding a large amount of money on behalf of someone else, I received extortion threats asking for the exact amount I was holding, even though it had been well known I personally owed an even larger number of coins at the time.

It is my belief that these people believe you will be willing to part ways with money you are holding for other people and the "jealousy" you are seeing is actually a setup for an extortion attempt, if you have not already received extortion threats for the amount of money you are holding.

The people who are saying that Theymos should switch to multi sig are secretly trying to extort the forum funds from OG? Please explain how that would work when multiple people need to sign the signature.

OgN currently holds the only key to the 500 BTC he is holding for the forum, and there have not been any serious calls for forum funds to be held in a multisig address. What is being said about OgN is not unlike what was said about zeroaxl before he was extorted. The primary difference is that zeroaxl was privately accused of a bunch of BS, while OgN is being publicly accused of the same.

No I am not, that is exactly what you said. Regarding the whole Xeroxal extortion, it was stated up front that financial gain was not the incentive. Even Xeroxal said that he believes it was done with "good intent" (which doesn't mean that it wasn't a bad move).

What about putting the forum fund in several 2-of-3 addresses (3 parties being Treasurer 1, Treasurer 2 and theymos).

I've suggested this to theymos sometime in 2016. Even though he was in favor of the idea, he still did not do anything about it AFAIK. I don't even know who the remaining treasurers are?

There are plenty of other posts/topics made about it. A lot of research has been put into the whole Paraipan mystery and it could've all been prevented by using multi sig (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5135232.msg50739072#msg50739072). Some people might use the topic to attack OG but it is a very valid point. I am not under the assumption that OG would ever attempt to steal the funds but why would Theymos risk over $3,500,000 by not upgrading to multi sig? As far as I am aware OG is not immortal and freak accidents happen every day.

As for whatever trust issues you're crying about, I imagine you haven't yet seen the worst of what is coming.  A lot of users are telling me their only hesitation in leaving you negative trust is that everyone who has so far has been excluded from DT.  It's an issue theymos will have to correct, but I suspect once that abuse stops, you'll get what you have so rightly earned.

Probably an off-topic reply but still wanted to share it:

The reason I spoke about US taxes is because the topic started as an argument between two members and then shifted to IRS and taxes. I don't know the amount of taxes the member has to pay but it sounds like millions. Also, when one is aware that there are officials are corrupt and I am sure others know, why this discussion is even taking place? I can see that it's not because anyone is interested in whether the member paid taxes or not but it's hatred towards the particular member.

I guess most of the members here have not even met each other in real life and probably will never meet including the two members in question. Is this online hatred worth it?

I have been myself targetted many times by members and it was mostly the other member who started it first and they tried to instigate me, provoke me and things became worse. I also thought of taking things legal. After spending 4-5 years doing this and fighting with unknown people online, I noticed that their only intention was to provoke me and they succeeded in doing so. I wasted my hours of sleep over such a small thing and that too for a person I'll (hopefully) never come across. God forbid! It was not worth that I waste time on them who are online when I already have so many people in my hate list and I am in their hate list in real life. I have enough "real" problems to solve than to spend my time on an online member.

Both of you members are reputed in your own field and both are not scammers (AFAIK) so IMO there is point of fighting with a person you have never known nor you will know in your entire life. So why waste your breath fighting? Please calm down and ignore each other instead.

I have seen this happening many times in this forum where the fight starts with 2 members then a gang forms of who supports whom and people who don't even understand what the fight is about join in as per their preferences and combine with the member who is stronger. Finally it ends with red marks on both members and other members and after a month, everybody forgets about it. I guess the same is going to happen here. I don't know anyone over here but just wanted to share what I feel. Sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings but I did not mean to. Bye!

I've been being targeted by a band of weasels for years now.  I'm not going to sit quietly while these pathetic individuals spread lies and abuse the trust network.  Sorry.  There's clearly one individual who is a habitual liar and disgusting human being in this situation, and I have no problem illuminating that fact.  I would strongly recommend ignoring us both if you want to turn a blind eye to doing what is right in this situation.

I see no reason for anyone to get hurt here with what you said. Dig down this topic, some of the responses you will see has worse behaviors. We really need to go back to school to learn the basic manners. Some of the forum members has serious lacking of it.
