For now, Dominick Reyes wanted an immediate rematch. It is very possible as it seems Dana likes him. But I can feel that Jon Jones will win in a rematch. That dirty champ will train harder. He's got the experience and is actually not that old.
Usually the UFC does not grand a rematch like that and if that was the case the fight against Alexander Gustafsson was also really close with opinions that Alexander Gustafsson won the fight but that rematch took 5 years and when that was done Jon Jones shut him down, Dominick Reyes was gassed out completely in the final two rounds and i am not expecting an immediate rematch as the winner of Corey Anderson and Jan Błachowicz might get the title shot against Jones.

I’ll agree with your analysis @7788bitcoin and I too don’t expect their rematch happening anytime soon, but at the same time I hope we don’t have to wait another five years to see their rematch. It’s also pertinent to note that Jones has given his consent for a rematch, but there’s no clarity yet when their rematch will take place.

My opinion.

1. Dominick Reyes wanted an immediate rematch. Though it was still too early, the guy haven't reviewed the fight yet and is still in an emotional stage. His team might tell him to rescind his intentions. Reyes is the younger fighter while Jones is starting to age.

2. There is no question as to Jon Jones wanted the rematch too. He is a great fighter, smart, athletic and well experienced from the best. He is the one catching time here. I believe an immediate rematch will show Jones dominating Reyes.

3. Dana White and the UFC organization. I can feel they like Dominick Reyes. They are probably looking Dominick Reyes as the future of the light heavyweight division. As experienced they are, they should realized that an immediate rematch might bring disaster on Reyes. So a rematch is not looking good here for their young investment in Reyes.

I have seen a crazy video on Youtube and that is Saudi Arabia has offered $100 Million Dollar for Khabib Nurmagomedov to fight Connor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather on a fight, I know that this could be a different story but I am shocked that Saudis would want to see a fight and is offering something Million Dollar Money to see this fight, I know that the UFC 249 is on April Versus Nurmagomedov and Ferguson but I really can't wait to see that in action, plus many news on the video about the fight of Jon Jones VS Dominick Reyes, plus Masvidal is getting personal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UD45aXJ2b6Y

Khabib already answered. He does not want to fight Conor for any price. I reckon Conor should prove his greatness again before he can make Khabib look at him hehehe. I am the most loyal Conor fan, however, the fight versus Cowboy is nothing to make him rematch Khabib.

Well, in a recent interview when asked about the rematch with Conor for 100 million dollars, Khabib laughed and said:

“Why do I need that kind of money. There are so many organizations for example, there is not only football for the blind, there are Sambo and other sports. Let [UFC] give it to them, if they don’t know what to do with the money. But giving me $100 million for me to beat up that idiot again? I don’t think it’s rational.”

Source https://www.essentiallysports.com/ufc-khabib-nurmagomedov-denies-to-fight-conor-mcgregor-even-for-100-million/

That sounded like Khabib alright! I haven't seen his reply yet to this 100 million dollar just by fighting Conor, In my opinion I would like to see another Khabib and Conor fight but I also think that will surely wait and Conor needs to beef up more and proved in his another fight that he is really ready for a rematch.

And on Jones VS Reyes fight, Congrats to Jones for winning it but Dominick Reyes did a great job, Jon Jones does have a hard time taking down Reyes that is why Jones said he has his respect, And Reyes had proven Jones what he is made of, Reyes says that he will get better, and proved that he is the real deal.

Dana White actually went public in the post-fight interview and said that Dominick Reyes is the future of the UFC LHW division. I also see that a quick rematch would end up Reyes getting knocked out. He is still 30 years old, maybe in two years time if Jones is still the defending champ.

If Reyes was awarded that fight, it's going to be a different story. An immediate rematch will take place.

Reyes was robbed obv!  Poor kid...  He worked so hard.
Indeed, Even DC and other UFC fighters thought Reyes should win. I don't really know what the judges saw on Jones' performance which make them decide in favor on him. Maybe the consistent pressure he gave (like what joe rogan said)? If that's the case then do you really believe it weighs greater than Reyes' tons of sharp punches he threw? You decide. But for me, nah I don't think so.

It was prolly rigged.  But it's all done now...  Reyes fans and some of Jones' fans are prolly gonna back Adesanya now (I'm sorta a Jones fan but had to boo him.  He doesn't have the right to talk as if he's still the champ.  IMHO).  Grin  Can't wait for him to trash Jones again in his next interview.

Cheers mate. the rematch against Alexander Gustafsson was delayed because of the huge fight and hype against Daniel Cormier and then he went into trouble and was suspended striped off his title because of his road accident and then PED issues and it was a roller coaster ride in those period and so is the reason the rematch was delayed and i am expecting Dominick Reyes and it all depends upon Jones plan to move to Heavyweight division, a couple of good fights by Dominick Reyes and he will get his rematch against Jones.

No one can argue that he is not past his prime but tired and KO'ed at any moment? Come on now. Did you see how Reyes punches slowed down and was just swinging in the later rounds? Did you see how many times Jones just kept moving forward after getting hit?
No one would claim that Jon Jones is past his prime days, he got some clean shots against Dominick Reyes where some of the fighters could have gone out cold and he still maintained the pressure and moved forward and that is the only case i see him won the judges over in the fight.

Part of the judging criteria was cage control and I don't remember one criteria having more weight than the other.
Jon Jones controlled the center of the cage and the most confusing aspect is that there are two rules right now, the new rules are not followed by some of the athletic commission where they do not have a advantage in cage control and in Texas they followed the old rule.

Although scoring is done round by round in the UFC, Reyes really fell short in rounds four and five. They call them championship rounds for a reason.
Jon Jones completely dominated the last two rounds and it was clear that Dominick Reyes was tired but scoring is done every round and not just the championship rounds.

When all the emotions are gone, we should probably watch the fight again and without all the commentaries.
I watched the replay 2x (with commentaries) and round two, for me, was really won by Jones and the fourth and fifth.
I watched the fight a few times and i really do not see how Jon Jones won the first three rounds considering the amount of shots both landed and the only aspect i see him win is the cage control he had even after getting hit hard and the take down the had in the final two rounds he was not able to maintain that as Dominick Reyes was able to stand up and Jon Jones really struggled taking him down, 11 attempts and he was successful only twice shows the take down defense of Dominick Reyes.

As far as the judging goes in this fight card the judging was awful and even Joe Rogan called out the judges during the broadcast about the judges not even watching the fight which is really odd and how on earth they scored those rounds is mind boggling.

I do hope that this time, Jones will give Reyes an immediate rematch because there is still hype around it plus the controversial decision. Majority really saw that somewhat Reyes won the fight and that we don't want to wait for another five years like Gustafsson. It was stylistically difficult for Jones because of Reyes movement, unfortunately he just gasses out, but clearly Reyes was ahead. And I will echo the sentiments here, the judging is really that bad.

It all depends upon how much damage both these fighters took, for the past few fights Jon Jones is also taking a lot of punishment and his opponents will be having massive surgery on their knees because of his oblique kicks and his kicking game and how much damage Reyes took in this fight is yet to be known, first let them get medically cleared and the rematch will be huge and the hype of the possibility of Jon Jones getting defeated will attract a huge crowd.

This is not the first time we are seeing bad decisions but the specialty of this fight card is that there were many stupid decisions and so is the reason there are talks about how to score a fight is going on everywhere, the excuse we usually get is that the judges are boxing judges and if that is the case Dominick Reyes out struck Jon Jones clearly in the first three rounds in terms of volume and the significant strikes but the judges were ignorant and the controversy broke out because one judge gave Jon Jones 4 rounds which is impossible even if it was a close fight you will never get a score of 49-46 and as Dominick Reyes said it is disrespectful to score a close fight like that.

other than the 3 judging panel what is the solution to rectify these problems as a win will change a fighters life and fortune so they need to sort this out soon.

Those HOUSTON judges were not watching the match even JOE ROGAN said so himself while calling the fights even so much saying they were looking at the floor

UFC 247: Joe Rogan and Dominick Cruz outraged at judge ‘literally not watching’ on live broadcast

UFC commentators Joe Rogan and Dominick Cruz were left outraged after noticing one of the judges was not even watching a fight at UFC 247 on Saturday night.

Or least give Dom a shot at Jones again, unless Jones avoid it by going up to heavyweight.
Hahaha I think that would be a worse decision for him. Even if it would be his last resort in order to avoid facing Reyes, then he should not go up to HW division (if he is wise enough). Why? Because that's a whole different thing. That's the place of "one shot, one kill" and I doubt he can survive it; even thinking his "eye poking technique" will not work out as well Grin.

Much better if he will just face Reyes once again and prove to us that he really deserve the belt he is wearing for a long time.

Right, but he is talking about moving up in weight in his previous interviews.

Anyways, I will get Jones the prop if he jumps on the gun and request an immediately rematch, unlike what he has done with Gus.

@mich  - that's what I'm f**ing screaming about, those judges are not watching the fight.

On the judging, even Dana had it 3-2 Reyes but.... "We're not judges"

@eality - like I said, let's watch it again after a few months when all emotions are gone. During his post fight interview at UFC247, Jon Jones mentioned that those who thought Thiago Santos won during their match realized that maybe Jones really won after watching it again (he was referring to Melendez and some other guy).

Still more than three weeks away before the UFC 248 (Adesanya - Romero) but it's getting entertaining already with the promotion turning into some dance showdown. Enjoy the Romero back flip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxojNF_L0CE

I don't belive him, we all know that Jones is one of Dana's pets and favorite. But well, I'll give him the benfit of the doubt because he's right in the part that he is obviously not one of the judges on that fight.

Hahaha, I watched it and now we know that Adesanya is no match in the dance floor agains Yoel lol. But what about inside the cage? Are you with the Last Stylebender or with the Soldier of God? I know everyone loves Yoel but I think the odds will be still in favor of Adesanya Cheesy.

Still more than three weeks away before the UFC 248 (Adesanya - Romero) but it's getting entertaining already with the promotion turning into some dance showdown. Enjoy the Romero back flip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxojNF_L0CE
I really don't understand what's gotten into Adesanya for choosing to fight Romero. I mean he hasn't won in his last two or three fights and yet he's challenging for the title. For sure the other fighters who are more deserving are furious about this. Romero may be a really tough fighter and Adesanya is probably curious if he can knock the challenger out but this is still unfair to be honest.

Maybe Adesanya thinks this is going to be an easy fight for him? I doubt that Adesanya chose Romero "because he wants to get some kind of experience in fighting against Olympic silver medalist and World gold medalist".

Imho it is all about money, easy win, this will save him from fighting other (probably better) opponent (possibility to lose title).

Despite Romero is one of my favourite fighters, he has no chances this time. His opponent is almost 2 times younger (Romero usually has problems with stamina in 3+ rounds), mostly wins by TKO/KO (Romero has eaten lots of strikes in career, doubt that he can hold strikes like could 3-5 years ago, plus his injuries).

There was only one abnormal score there but I get your point. Decision like this is what you will get when there are more than one criteria for judging. If the UFC can come up with better rules like eliminate the scoring per round put more weight to damage inflicted or strikes to opponent, maybe there will be less controversial fights. I doubt that will ever happen though.

Every fight right now is about money mate but I still do not get this fight. There's no beef between the two and it's like Romero is on a good winning streak. In the press conference, Dana said that fighters who fought Romero before were more hurt than him even though they won. Maybe that's something Adesanya wants to find out for himself.

In rematches Jon Jones always perform better and finishes both his rematch opponents and it will be a great fight without a doubt but whether we will get the rematch immediately is a big question.

The only reason Romero got the title shot is because Israel Adesanya wanted to fight him as no one called him out and he is a stud and Paulo Costa is injured and it will be a great fight without a doubt, this year started with Conor McGregor and the second month we had Jon Jones and then we have Israel Adesanya and then Khabib and Tony fight is coming up.
