India always had the upper hand after their stellar batting performance. Warner would have been dismissed in the 1st over itself, but luck saved him. However, I don't agree with you about Warner wasting balls since his performance set the foundation for other batsmen like Smith to perform.

Australia next match is with Pakistan so it means that Australia will have to face a consecutive two defeats in the world cup. 

Seriously? Its not that simple. Australia is a far stronger team in comparison to the current Pakistan team and an extraordinary performance by Pakistan is the only way they can win their match.

Finch have some wrong call on the batting line up in my opinion. Khawaja was playing at 3, but today he was called at 4. I don't see any reason to call Smith in his place. Khawaja has a good performance in his last matches. However, I think Finch called Smith at 3 for having a faster score, if so, then calling Khawaja at 4 was also a wrong call.

Somehow Khawaja doesn't strike me as an ODI batsman, have seen him many times, even he makes 100. his strike rate is terrible. I considered him as a Test Batsman, and in a shorter format he doesn't make quick runs, opposition team now know that he struggles with short pitch bouncer even in Batting friendly wickets, actually short pitch bouncer rattles him, the same thing happened in the match against Windies and similar story against India.

Well, if for this reason he wasn't sent at 3, by anyhow he wouldn't be called at 4 as well. That's what I exactly mentioned. I'm not agreed with you though, a slower but longer start at the opening can help a team much better than a short faster start.

I didn't deny your point I just pointed out that Khawaja is not very ODI type material My point is, Dude is slow.

IMHO his place in this squad justified at only one scenario when he's batting as an opener. Then he can take his time to build the inning. But team management can't fit him in top order because of Warner-Finch and rightly so. We should never forget that he secured his position in World cup squad as an opener, not 1st down or middle order batsman.

Ist down position should belong to best batsman in the squad, who can stay at the crease longer with his technical sound ability and can make runs fast as well when the situation demands. Khawaja ticks on Technical sound batsman but making runs fast, Nope.

I am very much aware of his stats, so it would be foolish to call him bad batsman I am just saying he's slow. Sometimes slow batsman can come very handy when wickets are falling from another end like dominos.

And the way South Africa is losing their wickets seems like this will be another difficult match for SA. The sky is cloudy so rain is going to play a major role I think. This South African unit is really looking too broken. I don't see even the shadow of the real South African team. Shame.

South Africa playing worst cricket last six months, they lost test series in their home against very bad Sri Lanka team, really no hope left for South Africa,
they have some good individual players but not a good team for now for international level.

Amla is not having good time and same goes with South Africa. They are showing very poor performance which is unexpected. People were considering the one of the close competitor of the tournament winner but seems like they will not be eliminated in the first round.

Are you saying that you are considering NZ to win the world cup? Too hard job :-P

So this would be the second match of the tournament to be washed off? I heard that they have a pitch inspection at 3:45pm GMT, but I am not very hopeful about that. From the TV broadcast, it looks like a slight drizzle is still on. The most surprising thing is the absence of reserve days. This is such an important tournament, and the ICC refused to have reserve days?

A 20 over game would probably favour the Windies even without SA's terrible start, their batting style usually results in a higher strike rate anyway.

Another unfortunate event, The match has been officially abandoned, both teams will get a point.

This is absurd, the ICC should have been prepared for such occurrence, It's a world cup for crying out loud! I don't how many more matches will have to be called off like this, the less stronger team will always have the advantage in such situation, which is really unfair, IMO.

With this abandoned match South Africa lost their last hope I think. Very unfortunate.

I also have no idea what was wrong with the management for not to have at least one reserve day for all matches. In England the weather is very unpredictable, they should know it.
