Shakib Al Hasan at a glance in 2019 World Cup
Mind blowing performance. Can we expect him as the man of the tournament?
Yuvi was man of the tournament with 363 runs and 15 wickets.
Shakib Al Hasan performed really well in the tournament and he was the stand out player and could win the player of the tournament because of his all round capabilities, three more matches for the tournament to end and i expect England and India to face in the finals and England winning the tournament. Rohit Sharma is in impressive form with back to back centuries and i do not expect him to perform every time and if the top order fails India will struggle and i expect that in the final, not telling that to hurt the fans but i expect that to happen  Wink.

India won twice, Aus 5 times, WI twice and Pak once. So NZ and Eng have never ever won the cup despite of reaching finals thrice. NZ lost last WC so they will be more desperate this time and England too.

I hope NZ maintain their bad form as when they play good cricket, most teams lose the matches. Cheesy

New Zealand has good seam bowling, I just hope weather won't be cloudy so they won't get any swing. If they will get swing, just expect so much drama in match.
New Zealand showed that in practice match before world cup and won against India.

I wouldn't read much in to the initial win by NZ during the warmup matches. Indians were relatively new to the pitch conditions and the New Zealand bowlers such as Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson made the maximum use out of it and rattled the batsmen. But now the Indians have got themselves adjusted to the local conditions and therefore it is not going to be a problem.

Agreed but I'm a bit scared of the poor performance of Indian middle order. If opening can't have a good score, Indian batting may collapse within 250 which could be possible to chase.

~snip~

Its personal preference if one wants to believe on conspiracy theory or not, I am not a big fan of this kind of approaches, its good for discussion but in the end, everything should be judge on Merits only. Having said that if anyone wants to believe he's a victim of some conspiracy theory and Whole world is planning against them then it's fine as well, it's their choice, who are we to judge them?

And India won the match, I guess the same will happen again.

Its new game, so anything could happen on Tuesday, but India have upper hand in this fixture, no doubt about it.

What will happen in case India loses 2-3 quick wickets and Mahendra Singh Dhoni comes to bat, along with Kedar Jadhav? That will be a nightmare scenario. The run rate may drop to around 3 runs per over and they will be somewhere in the vicinity of 150 after 40 overs. Rohit and Kohli needs to make sure that at least one of them stays past the 40 over mark.

You act like every match will be the same. Hilarious. MSD has been doing his job brilliantly which is to take the game as deep as possible at the cost of sacrificing his strike rate which you critics will never understand.

He adds stability in the middle order and Pant and Jadeja are great additions too though Kedar needs a time-out. Funny seeing so many people bickering about the small things when India literally won every match except for the one against England. Some people are never satisfied. Hilarious indeed.

I want Sir Jadeja to play in the semifinal match against New Zealand. Mediocre players like Kedar Jadhav and Vijay Shankar were given multiple opportunities so far in the tournament, but the best Indian all rounder was left out of the team in 8 out of the 9 matches. When he was given a chance at last, he made the maximum use out of it and got the crucial wicket of Kusal Mendis.

He wasn't playing in the team because England mostly pitch don't spin much, so his bowling not a good option so much and his batting is not upto the mark last some months, that is why he was out of the team. Vijay Shankar was in team because he can bowl medium pace and that helped to win match against pakistan when Bhuvi got injured.

If spin is not suitable for English conditions, then why did India played two full-time spinners (Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal) for their match against England? And Jadeja is a batsman who can bowl, rather than the other way around. He is capable of pushing the run rate upwards in the middle order, unlike players such as Dhoni and Jadhav.

WHo will be the winner at the end? I would be far away if I would not use my emotion in some cases. However, that made the pool more interesting. At least we have to fight until the end. There are only 3 matches left, unless I lose every prediction, there's a very little chance of surpassing me by anyone other than royse  Cheesy Isn't it?

snip.

I'm not doing bad on the ranking too, Currently on the 3rd position with just 3 games to go, here is the part where getting the margin point will be mostly needed.

I'm supporting India to win easily against New Zealand tomorrow but knowing that India lost to them during the first round got me thinking otherwise.

I think you have messed it. India vs NZ first round match was abandoned due to rain. Are you referring to the warm-up match between them? I guess so.

As far as I can remember, you are were on lower position earlier but got a good call on last matches.

Bhai I want Jadeja in the team as well. But don't forget what happened in Champions trophy Tongue  Kedar and Vijay are not mediocre players. Kohli didn't use Kedar well, if he's not bowling 3-4 overs then he's useless because he comes to bat at lower middle order, nothing much to do there. And Vijay Shankar didn't click, It Happens with the players all the time.

Still i messed up Tongue. was away for one week so i missed at least 5-6 matches, Chances are you are going to top the table. @royse : hard chance for him because he's going to lose points by supporting only OZ in semis lol Cheesy

Just kidding Royse i know you want to see Aussie in Final, your bet is on Smiley

I am saying that there is no need for sacrificing the strike rate. India is not like teams such as New Zealand or West Indies. The Indian middle order is very strong and they are capable of scoring at a brisk pace even if a few wickets are lost. In my opinion, players such as Hardick Pandya and Jadeja should bat before Dhoni, so that the run rate is maintained.

Warmup matches does not count much. The pool match between NZ and IND was washed out so practically this will be first time these two will be playing in this world cup.

Currently Sharma, Rahul and Virat have given a solid start to Indian innings and their middle order is not being tested in this tournament.  Will love to see how Indian middle order handle the pressure if the top order fails.

For India, the only weak spot is the middle order (even that is debatable). In that case, should they decide to bowl first if Kohli wins the toss? The New Zealand batsmen (apart from Williamson) are not in good form recently, and the Indian pacers like Mohammad Shami and Jaspreet Bumrah may be able to take a few quick wickets and put them under pressure. What is your opinion?

What is your opinion?

Middle order is not that weak after coming Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik, They both are very good players and easily rotate strike and able to hit boundary at their wish.
Team combination is good now and I am expecting easy win today against New Zealand.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat.
Taking a few wickets early will definitely swing the game India's favor, but I'm sure New Zealand would be aware of that too.

I wanted India to bat first, India playing with only 5 bowlers and I am really feeling doubt, if New Zealand by any chance got good opening, they will trash Indian bowlers and India won't have extra bowling option to change.

Looking forward to seeing Williamson and Sharma today, both of them are topping the batting tables and I have a little side bet on which one will score most with one of my colleagues who got India in the office pool  Wink

I'm leaning towards India for the win but would love to see NZL cause an upset.

That review called by India just now was a close one and probably worth the risk, losing Guptill early would have been a bad blow for the kiwis.

Sticking to my player props today:

⚪ Williamson - score 50: Yes (2.32)
⚪ Sharma - score 50: Yes (2.04)
