Lotta batteries or grid-tie needed for that - but they're pretty close to the BIG wind farm area west of Mojave so there should be plenty of powerline infrastructure nearby. Arizona would make more sense though - more sunlike more of the year round, 70% is less than what I see in Central Washington!

An acre is about 300 panels Say top of the line it is 400 watts. Older cheap it is 200 watts a panel average panel is 300 So 400 x 300 is 120kwatts hourly x 50 for easy math is 6000 kwatts hourly That’s a sunny spot so use 6 factor. So 36000 kwatts which is 36 megawatts a day with top of the line panels And 18 megawatts a day with cheaper panels. So spilt to 1 megawatt 24/7/365 Which is 800 kwatts with safety factor of 80% So if all s17s. 800/2.2 = 360 units X 50th = 18ph a day. So. 18000 x 0.000032 = 0.5778 BTC a day About 6700 a day. 2,430,000 a year Not that impressed since it was 22,000,000 to build. Which is 1/3 less after rebate. 14.74 million cost for the solar. And the miners may be legally rolled into it. First year 2,430,000 back maybe less due to diff and price moves maybe more. I used to earn 1 btc a day back in 2012 using 8kwatts hourly. Vs 800kwatts hourly to earn 0.5778 coins now.

Finally the Vegas are on SMOS (Vega version)... Any suggestions on how to further optimize watts and hash?8 x Vega64 / 300MHs / 37.xxMHs per card I can push memory higher to 1100 to achieve 44Mhs per card but I am worried about overall watts consumed by this rig currently just under 1300watts. The Vegas have Samsung memory. PSU is 2400w Delta. I haven't experiment with eliovp's auto-mem utility and rxboost. *** eliovp, tytanick - if you guys are reading this post, please advise.

Nice setup, I had a rig a few years back that was nothing but 5x R9 290 all sitting in close proximity to one another. Kind of like your setup. And with the bad cooling in the reference design, I assumed that they would all overheat except the card in front but surprisingly they ran pretty well. This was mining ETH which if I recall used maybe 250 Watts per GPU, so the heat was obviously much higher than yours, I believe it ran at 80C or so. The fans were running crazy loud but they never had any stability problems or overheats ever. The fans also never died on them. Had to shut the rig down because as the DAG grew the R9 290 gpus started to slow down after each Epoch, eventually it ran less than 15MH/s using similiar wattage as before and I just shut it down.

Why don't you mine Monero? It's more profitable for Vegas than ETH. I can give you the configuration for CNR mining with Vegas. ~2300h/s with 1407 core, 1075 memory at 862mV. I was mining Monero prior to moving the Vega rigs from Windows to VEGA. With BTC moving up aggressively...... any alts at the moment will have a bad day against BTC in terms of ratio. Moving my non-SHA256 rigs to Nicehash will boost my BTC accumulation faster, because with mining diff is so high for most of the top coins, I rather give my hash for rent at Nicehash and collect BTC. Thanks for the CNR settings, I will experiment on the settings this weekend.

Curious how the power delivery works for this mobo. Is it just 8x 6pin input from PSU, then 8x 6pin output from mobo, which goes into a splitter and then into the Vegas? This board is quite simple, just like what you described above. The splitter is quite safe since total watts less per splitter is way less than 300w - as per SMOS and the clock settings, max watts per card around 130watts per Vega64. Surprisingly quite cooling this setup, since this Gen1 Vegas are reference blower type. I got these boards from Letine. I was able to get the rig to push 338mhs at Nicehash@DaggerHashimoto, using PhoenixMiner and recommended amdmemorytweak utility inserted in the advanced tool settings on the SMOS dashboard. Great help from the SMOS Discord channel. BogdanCo settings is even better but my rig couldn't handle it, so I had to settle for 42-43mhs per Vega

At the same time I wonder if it's possible to push 8x Vega VII at 250W each Bought one of these similar boards as sample today, but has a cpu socket to use a G4560 instead of the soldered 3865U. It's slightly cheaper than the onda boards and most importantly $86 USD Bitmain APW7 can be used instead of 1500w titaniums. If on Windows..... I may share the same concerns with you... that's why putting this on Linux SMOS with tighter power controls is preferred without messing with Windows, registry, power-tables etc. The 2400w Deltas are rated 94% platinums - I have got a bunch of these (during Parallel Miner firesales). They are really a live saver and I dont have to worry about number of cables needed even for heavy duty GPUs like 1080tis or 32 cables....

They are really a live saver and I dont have to worry about number of cables needed even for heavy duty GPUs like 1080tis or 32 cables.... you do not need to setup with all that power into the mobo psu send 6 pcie to mobo psu send 8 pcie to cards do not feed a lot of cables out of the mobo into the cards. less energy goes into the mobo. somewhere some place I did photos on this board and sending cables right to the cards = better then cables to mobos to cards the mobo still needs 6 cables into it for the slots to be powered. it does not need any out of it into the cards. although it is neater wiring .

yeah, i was drawn away from those style of boards because you are adding more points of failure to power distribution; more contact points, cables, etc....
This is why I loved the D8P soo much; aside from the 8+4.

Phil, Gminer since v1.51 supports the fork - see GITHUB SMOS has v1.52 updated. 1.51 @develsoftware develsoftware released this 6 days ago added Cuckarood29 algorithm for Nvidia cards (use --algo grin29 for autoswitch after hardfork)
